He gave the bare minimum to gathering them (by that he means he sees them and acknowledges it exists and only picking up whatever is less than five inches from his boot), when he hears her talking about the stardust. ]
I wouldn't doubt it so much. If there's one thing I know about magic and strange occurances, it's never underestimate the power of small things in great numbers.
[ He says while rotating a stardust between his fingers and tossing to her. ]
Besides, its Tanabata. Wishes may actually come true this time.
[ He got roped into this with her somehow, so he might as well make sure she does it. Besides, despite her grumbling, she seems pretty excited by the prospect. ]

To be quite honest, I'm not familiar with the holiday itself. It sounds Inazuman from the word alone.
[ she should get in touch with either ayato or yae again. it's been a while. ]
What does wishing have anything to do with it?

He's a little surprised when somebody he doesn't know hands him some wine, but it would be rude to turn down free wine. It's his now.]
That's where you're from?

Mhm. It seems that somehow they'd brought down food from other realms here. I can't even begin how they managed it.

[ She'll be taking the drink with an earnest grin. After all, Mion isn't the type of girl who'll say no to it. ]
So this pairs well with the food of your homeland, I assume? What kind of food are we talking about here?

[ If Eula didn't immediately spot the fellow swordsman by his wild blonde hair, his flat tone gives himself away. There's the smallest hint of amusement to it. Not at Eula's expense, but more at the chance run-in. ]
[ He takes a seat next to her, nodding to the bartender. Something hard, and bitter. He's got the yen to pay for it, and he's not exactly got much else to do. ]
Sorry. Couldn't resist. ...Stress of the job is that bad, huh?

[ right... right. he did offer to drink with her on the network a short while back, didn't he? that's embarrassing. ]
I apologize. Go ahead, take a seat.
[ it's still surreal though, having someone to drink with her in the first place. she takes a sip of her negroni and shrugs. ]
And... it could be worse. I've dealt with new recruits before, but you can only imagine how low morale in the offices has been since then.

barton's glanced through the options at least twice now, wherein his benign expression had gradually pulled to a grimace. at the beach, shuten had this simple with their few beer options. he leans back in his chair, draping an arm over its back, then glances to eula - even if it might not be readily apparent, he fully does want to have a nice time.
but, sliding the menu forward, he does have to announce, ]
There are too many options.
[ he's not even picky! girl, help. ]
no subject
You don't usually drink out, do you?
[ then why invite her out in the first place... though don't get her wrong too, she does want to have a nice time -- especially with the every-growing responsibility that came with their new positions. ]
We can go for draft beer first, then work our way up. Along with some of these...
[ just going to add in uhhh. yakitori. edamame, naturally. it's not like they're here for actual food anyway. ]

The motion is soft, and not meant to alarm her. She was here to help, because she. Didn't look very well, to be quite honest. Shifting ever close to Eula, and squeezing her shoulder. Most people gone at this hour by now, which gave them privacy to talk. If she wanted to, anyway.]
Eula. It's me, Marie.
[Just as gentle as her touch, her voice remains soft in order to keep the girl's headache at bay, and again, not to scare her while she's in a vulnerable position, to say the least.]
no subject
so do forgive her if she can't make out the other woman's face clearly. but the name -- it's very familiar. ]
M-Marie...?
[ yes, it's the headmistress who knew a thing or two about reconnaissance. eula attempts to rise her head from the table, but the impending headache keeps herself from moving any further. ]

Haa... at least the drinks haven't changed much.

wildcard;
21st of July rip eula's sleep schedule
While Childe considers himself- as any proud Snezhnayan would- more than capable of holding his liquor, he doesn't make a habit of getting drunk, let alone as wasted as he is right now. Though he'd intended to share a few rounds with friends and nothing more, when the bartender had caught wind of it being his birthday... well, that's where things started to go downhill. The drinks got harder, the shots more numerous and now here he is, pounding pavement on his way to somewhere very specific.
There's nothing unusual about him knowing where Eula lives. Over time, Childe has learned that information is just as powerful a weapon as his fists and he's been careful to take notes on allies and friends and those in between. The knight no longer fits into any of those categories but that doesn't make her less interesting- and perhaps that's the deadliest thing of all when it comes to catching his attention.
And so, there's no real malice in the way he makes his way up to her apartment and knocks. Head spinning, mouth dry, one hand gripping the door frame hard enough to press ridges into his fingertips. Not once does it occur to him that this is an exceptionally stupid idea- on the contrary, he thinks it's one of the best he's made all night. After all, if he's going to indulge, he might as well take it to the brink. There's no better way to end the celebrations than finishing the fight they started months ago, no better present than combat. If anything, the promise of bloodshed sharpens his senses; like twisting the lens on a kamera, his thoughts come into focus and his pulse quickens.
Impatience takes over and he bangs on the door this time.
Yes, it's three in the morning. No, he hasn't noticed and wouldn't care anyway.]

idk you pick the time.
she sees them trying to go after another woman, something in their talk about the Enma and his refusal to say more, and did she know anything or wish to make a comment. bothersome, really, and not entirely her problem, but she hates not helping when she can, particularly when someone looks harried...]
Excuse me.
[the reporters turn at that voice, getting a smile that's polite, but stern as she steps closer, towards the other woman, and standing at her side.]
I believe you've had plenty of time for your questions and comments. It's time for you to move along.
[one of them opens their mouth and gets elbowed by a friend, while others just bow their head and skitter off.]
For goodness sake...are you alright, miss?
first couple days of july, waves hand
and today, she's really going to lose it. clenching her fists, she's about to retort with something of her own before an unfamiliar voice pipes up out of nowhere. the reporters them scatter much like a proverbial great flood, and eula finds herself in the company of a much older woman, the badges on her person telling the knight everything she needs to know. ]
I am, thank you. But I doubt that helping a lowly Enma officer should be at your list of priorities.
[ she could've handled it on her own!! except she did look like she was about to blow a fuse for a second there... ]
