I. Substory #3 Drifter Grifter
[He looks tiredly at the list of crimes of this grifter and for a moment he wonders if Bradley's out there stealing again? He's probably stealing, but is this specifically Bradley or just some idiot he doesn't have to care about?]
Okay, so what did this guy look like? Did he even have any information or was he just dining and dashing?
[Are there, for some reason, giant windows in your bathrooms? How is this guy getting out so easily?]
II. City of Rain, before hours
[Now more than Ever Nero's grateful to have his shop. An oasis of calm in the middle of the din of Jigokuchou. Of course, the quiet rule doesn't come into effect until the shop actually opens. Sometimes it is nice to be able to talk to his employees without having to write everything down on paper.
He has been cooking a little earlier than usual, but that might be because of the new hire. Bradley? Just somebody from home. At least it's very normal for Nero not to say much about himself.
He does send out a text to everyone who works there.]
Breakfast on Friday at 10 if you want to come early.
Tell me what you want.

Rokurou
Oh well.
It'll be nice to see somebody he doesn't have centuries of baggage with. There's something to be said for people who don't know him.
Nero's at the bar a little earlier than they agreed, simply because he couldn't stand the idea of being late. He gives at wave to Rokurou when he spots him.]
How've you been?
no subject
[ Rokurou grins and waves back in greeting while dropping into the stool beside Nero. He's dressed casually in a black tee and black jeans since he's off duty, not sporting the garish patterned shirts he normally likes to wear when running the gambling hall circuit.
He leans forward once seated, closing the distance between them so it's obvious to everyone else that this guy's here with him tonight. ]

Matoba
There's a full spread of tiramisu, crème brûlée, lemon pie, tres leches, lemon tart, cream puffs, and macaroons (raspberry) out. Every single one of them gorgeously presented and perfectly sweet.]
Which ones do you like?
no subject
[Alright, let him be a "professional" about this. He pulls out a chair and seats himself, picking up a fork and twirling it in his fingertips as he tries to decide what to dig into first...]
[The creme brulee, that was what Nero had said was a specialty of his, right? Matoba tugs it over for the first taste, humming delightedly to himself.] Oya, it has such a light texture. Not too heavy at all. And the caramel on top is burnt very evenly. I can see that you have spent a long time on perfecting this one, hm?

Eula - We Know Who You Are
He summons a magical copy of a pot and a lid. It floats in the air beside him as he considers what he could actually do to stop the thing. The bomb goes into the pot for now. If he has to, he can fling it up, up, out of the reach of the city.
He still has a few minutes before it goes off. He yells out, hoping somebody who can actually properly deal with this is around.]
There's a bomb in here!

Nero...?!

...Admittedly he's not quite sure why there's this silence rule that he can see at the front door, but he's not about to be rude. He opens the door and peers in, though now he has to wonder if perhaps he came here a little too early. No other customers yet...? ]
no subject
We ain't open yet... But here, sit down. [He looks young and hungry and Nero can't not feed him.] What're you hungry for?

not just any food, either, but the best there is.
if he could have his way, he'd have his breakfast at nero's place and not the restaurant, but if this is how nero wants things, bradley has no choice but to suck it up and accept it... just kidding. he's gonna shoot his shot no matter what.
just like back home, he'll keep coming back until nero gives in. ]
is this for me too?
cuz you already know what i want
are you still are your place?
no subject
I'm surprised you didn't ask for breakfast chicken.
I'm at the restaurant.

Can you make any request for food?
no subject
The restaurant is clean, though not especially large.
Nero doesn't say anything about his quiet rule, only because it's before the official hours.]
You're here early. I can make what I have the ingredients for. What are you thinking of?
no subject
[He's actually quiet for a moment - not because he's noticed there's a quiet rule, suddenly, but he's thinking.]
Eggs and toast. Do the eggs however you please.

Not quite 2 because he doesn't work there but he's bothering Nero for food
Yeah. He's going up and just trying to open the front door. And if it's locked he'll start pawing at it like a cat while staring sadly through the window. Let him in, Nero.]
no subject
That's not a cat, that's a full grown person.
He does open it but...]
You're here early.

that's brunch
( Not everyone is a chronic early bird insomniac, Katherine.
But; )
i'll have eggs
( And she will be there. )
no subject
Any specific way to cook the eggs? Toast?
[Nero will be there a little earlier than anybody else.]
no subject
poached, brown bread, veg
( Nero should understand that "veg" means "take your pick because she doesn't mind".
She'll be there a little past ten, half-jogging into the restaurant and irritated in that way which comes when you don't give yourself enough time to get from one part of JGK to the other. )

Amelia had asked the locals of Jigokucho about the City of Rain and they were happy to point her toward her destination. She had told Nero she would visit after all. With all the hushed talks and tension over the anticipation of the rescue and consequent reward, maybe it wasn't a good idea to try and insert herself into the Alliance so quickly. She does that; hyper-focusing on the grander picture on hand, finding her niche, and doubling down, even more now that she doesn't have her witchcraft to squirrel herself away elsewhere.
It's kind of exhausting, but it's either that or exhausting herself with the homesickness, heartache, and uncertainty of her new life here in Jigokucho.
When Amelia enters, it's quiet inside and the pleasantness of it washes over the witch. She clears her throat a little and calls out.]
Should I be seating myself?
no subject
Nero's coping mechanism was to fall back on something he's known how to do for centuries: Cook and run a business. Easy. Simple.]
You can come sit over here.
[At one of the little cubicles that looks into the kitchen. A bit of idle chit chat before the day starts isn't unwelcome.]
What can I do for you?
no subject
[Amelia glances back and forth and then moves to sit down as directed. When Nero asks what he can do for her, she opens her mouth and then shuts it, sealed by pursed lips. She holds up a finger indicating for him to wait.]
Give me a moment.
[Oddly enough, instead of ordering right away, the redhead crosses her arms on the table and then lays her head down. She says nothing and the only movement from her is the rise and fall in tandem with her breathing.
Someone's exhaustion has finally caught up to her.]
