[Today is a very special day for several reasons. So Nazuna has spared no expense in getting dressed up. Despite the grand details, he moves with a very practiced grace; never once stepping on or ruffling the delicate fabrics. He intends to use it for his performance later, so he has to treat it with care. He has to say that he likes this mix of traditional and frivolous– cuteness and beauty. He’s hoping that the guests who come to visit the Palace of Sai will appreciate it just as much.

This kind of atmosphere is cloyingly sweet, the kind that might get into your head. It’s all about indulgence here and today Nazuna has become one of many consorts prepared to help people do just that. Like several other Tamamo Clan members, Nazuna’s time can easily be bought– whether you’re looking for someone to keep you company while you enjoy the exquisite and quite costly drinks. He’s happy to make sure guests remember to eat something too. Feeding someone is something he can do without even batting an eyelash.

If they have more salacious thoughts on their mind, he won’t refuse the company. Since he’s theirs for the time being, he’ll do his part to be the ideal partner; whether it’s someone cute and obedient or someone more willful and forceful.]

Ahhh the stars feel so close. On a night like tonight… any encounter could be a fateful encounter~♡

Wish-Filled Performance (1 Point)

[Those who are interested in the more artistic pleasures of the evening will be treated to a variety of performances on the stage throughout the night. And while it did require a bit of tweaking, Nazuna feels pretty fortunate to have the perfect song for tonight already in his repertoire as an idol. It would have been a bit much to do as a solo but since Robin seemed interested in Ra*bits cute style, he was able to make it into a pretty impressive duet.

Prior to the performance, the edges of the stage were lined with various flower displays; bright and vibrant colors mixed like fireworks. The displays have been neatly created to advertise for Aerith’s new flower shop.

As for the performance itself– it goes off splendidly, Robin and Nazuna putting on their very best heart-felt performance of a cute and catchy song about the holiday itself.

After the performance, Nazuna sticks around to greet his new fans; handing out flowers to anyone who’s still lingering near the stage with a wink.]

[But even hard working rabbits have to take a break sometime. For him, it’s near the end of the night. The display of stars is nothing short of breathtaking. But there’s also a sort of melancholy in it. It’s a far more beautiful sight… and even the results he received were better…

But even so, if he had to pick… he would have rather been able to meet the people he loved.

That thought is allowed to stick for all of half a second before he’s shaking his head back and forth emphatically, like he’s trying to make it fly right out of his head. He slaps his cheeks and turns his head to the bamboo trees covered in colorful talismans.]

Wow~ There are so many wishes. I hope someone is able to answer them, even if I can’t.

[ Skylark hadn't intended to come to this part of the Palace—he only wanted to watch some of the performances, and he wasn't interested in getting a consort or whatever—but the moment he saw Nazuna's name, he felt a moment of alarm. And that's how he ended up buying some of Nazuna's time. His coin purse is already cursing him for this impulsive decision. ]

[Although he doesn’t sound particularly sorry about teasing— he is, however, sorry that being put to this particular task was probably worrying Lark if he came here to see him now.]

But I’m really happy Hiba-chin came to see me. Since there are people I can’t meet right now… I’m really glad for the ones I do have.

[ ...Somehow, this feels more embarrassing than he ever expected it to be. ]

Your important people back home, right? ...I wouldn't be so worried if you weren't doing this kind of work.

[ Not so much because of the said nature of this work—somewhere in the back of his head he remembers his sisters and mother—but because it's Nazuna doing it, specifically. ]

Mmm~ if it’s a day for meeting the ones you love I would have liked to be able to treat the other members of Ra*bits to dinner. It would be nice if Kagehira would come with us this time… I’m not sure it would be possible to drag Oshi-san with us since he’s probably still in France right now, but it would be nice…

[Nazuna shakes his head, a bittersweet smile on his face.]

But since I can’t, I at least want to surround myself with good company~

[If he acts like there’s nothing to be worried about, maybe Lark will realize it’s fine. Sure he looks small but he’s a reliable older brother—! There’s no reason to worry.]

[Looking at the stars above, Hu Tao couldn't help but to stare in awe. While it reminded her of the Lantern Rite, this was a little special. Now that was she was away from home, this festival made her realize just how important her wish was.

Looking at the piece of paper in her hand, she looked at Nazuna before giving a slight chuckle.]

Who said that you can't? Even if some of the wishes are difficult to grant, the ones that are simple should be easy.

…you think?

[He hums. Sure there were probably a lot of difficult wishes but it was possible there were people who didn’t need much. If it was a wish like that, then… yeah, he’d want to help make it come true if he could.]

Back home there was a show we did for Tanabata where performers would complete and the winners got to answer the wishes of the fans that had cheered for them.

[That performance was filled with a lot of different memories that were still complicated but— pretty special.]

Unfortunately we weren’t able to do that then. But… it would be nice if I had another chance.

[While she wasn't sure if his wishes would be granted, it was worth a try. After all, she doubts that her wish would be granted when there was so much uncertainty about how to start her business here.]

Hell or not, we still need to make sure that our prayers are answered!

I don’t know if I would have put a whole lot of stock into that sort of thing before. But after what I’ve seen here… the idea of wishes being granted doesn’t sound so impossible.

Wish-Filled Performance

[ all the hard work has seemingly paid off? being offered to do a stage performance with nazuna had been, for lack of a better phrase, the best thing he could've asked for in his entire life. a major difference compared to the two other lives he's lived so far: the classical and the visual kei. he's not sure if this third one as an idol will completely pan out; he was surprised by how demanding some of the dancing was compared to what he's used to--- which is nothing.

but the music? he loves it. he can see why nazuna... nii-chan, is successful. he understands why ra*bits is successful! and part of him wishes he could do this for the rest of his life... ]

[From the beginning, Nazuna had it in his mind that Robin would be the ideal partner for a performance like this. It was short notice-- so he felt bad, springing it on him so suddenly and pushing him as hard as he did. But it really, really paid off. He had a feeling the crowd could feel just how much fun the two of them were having and were having just as much fun with them.

...he really, really missed this feeling.

It wasn't the return he'd expected, but it was a debut he'd remember forever. But man. Even he's exhausted when it's all over. Just not too tired to sling an arm around Robin and give him a hug. Another brother to be super proud of~]

[ as the group of watchers begins to disperse, robin mirrors nazuna's action and wraps an arm around nazuna's waist. the feeling of bringing smiles to youkai and lost soul faces has certainly lifted robin's spirits too. he's getting to do what he does best, with someone who is a much bigger professional than himself, and... ]

Thank you, Nii-chan! I've never performed with anyone like you before!

[ they can certainly make their way backstage. robin waves with his other hand, towards what looks like a group of younger youkai who really enjoyed their song. one of them even makes the rabbit ears with their hands and the others giggle. ]

The only thing between you and me is the level of experience we have. You have more than enough raw talent to pursue that kind of life if that's what you really want.

[He would never lie and say it's all as wonderful and sparkly as it looks, but even looking back at the painful times-- he was grateful every day that he decided to become an idol. Moments like this when he could share that feeling with other people who loved the stage like he did were the ones that reminded him that the most.]

I know I pushed you pretty hard there for a while, but-- it really paid off. If you can do something like that with just a little time to prepare, just imagine all the potential you have!

[He digs two water bottles out of his bag and tosses one Robin's way.]

[ Barok's opinion on the music is mostly 'what in the blazes am I listening to...?'. The appeal of idols is lost on him and even the appeal of 'cuteness' as a general concept largely passes him by. And still, it is preferable to stand by the stage than to be accosted by courtesans looking for their next customer. People generally leave him alone here. 'To be left alone' is really a main goal he has for getting through the evening.

Which means fanservice is the absolute last thing he wants right now. And yet, there is a flower in his face. Barok is frowning. He is also not taking the flower. ]

[Too bad, good sir, you don't scare him. With a bit of quick engineering, he pins the flower neatly to the front of his outfit. He takes a step back and looks at his work with a grin.]

Little late for that, don'tcha think? You don't exactly blend in real well.

[With the way live performances were held at Yumenosaki, Nazuna was no stranger to having people who weren't exactly there to root for him. And he'd had his fair share of people who didn't exactly like him after he left Valkyrie. So he can more than handle a little grumpy.]

It probably wasn't your kind of performance but thanks for coming to see us anyway.

[ Barok van Zieks has been flowered. He does not look happy about this turn of events. But at least he is not making any move to take it off - he just stands there like a statue of a judgmental deity.]

I hold no love for the contemporary music of this era as a whole.

Ahhh~ I understand now.

[Although far less boisterous, there's something... no, several somethings... about this guy that remind him of Itsuki. He wouldn't say it, but-- he's kind of glad that he was able to meet him tonight.]

But you shouldn't lump it all together like that. Even now, there are people out there desperately trying to raise the bar for music, selling refinement to those willing to listen but never compromising just to please others.

[Nazuna decides there's room for an encore.]

[There's no music this time. It's not a properly sanctioned or prepared performance-- just a song he knows all the parts to. It has all the frills stripped away, leaving only the artistry of the soft melody and the melancholy beauty of it's lyrics.]

[ Zhongli has seen and been to many a play/theater/musical performance in his 6 thousand years of life. But it seems even he has yet to see all that is to be offered through such a medium. The song and music are catchy, for sure, and the vocals are top-notch from what he knows about keeping a tune. So he takes the offered flower with a curious look before smiling ever faintly. ]

It's been a pleasure seeing and hearing you perform. I've yet to come across such musical talent akin to yours. What genre of music would this be termed as?

Really? I'm really glad you enjoyed it~!

[It's nice to be able to share Ra*bits music with people who might not have ever heard it otherwise. It wasn't quite the same since they weren't here to represent themselves but he knew they'd forgive him for borrowing it.]

As "idols" every group's sound is unique, so it's probably best labeled as "contemporary". Because a lot of units have a "theme" or something special that sets them apart from similar performers.

And what does your group specialize in then? I assume it's those fireworks and magnificent displays?

[ Zhongli is actually genuinely curious as he even tilts his head a little to get a better read on the other. ]

[The concept has clear elements of marketing built into it-- and Nazuna isn't the type to ignore that aspect of it. But the feelings behind it were important too. Fortunately, Zhongli seems genuinely interested in it.]

Ra*bits' number one selling point is our cuteness. So our music should have the same kind of happy, upbeat feel to it-- the sort of thing you listen to and it makes you want to smile.

[Sasuke had dressed up for the occasion, and he had gone around eating and trying everything, while trying really hard not to think of Naruto and Sakura. Really hard. So he went over to the trees, looking at all the wishes, and thinking about Naruto, again.

Well, that didn't work.

He hears a slapping sound and turns around, seeing a guy, a blond guy, slightly shorter than himself, looking at the trees. He feels like he's seen this guy before, so he approaches, curious.]

Why would you want to answer them?

[Blinking, it seems to take Nazuna a moment to realize that... yeah, he'd just said that out loud. He scratches his cheek sheepishly. He wasn't sure since everyone looked pretty different all dressed up, but he was pretty sure he recognized this guy.]

Under normal circumstances, just making a wish like this... nothing would happen, right?

[As nice as the stories are and as dear a place as Tanabata holds in his heart now, he doesn't believe in those kinds of fairytales. Ironic, considering where he's standing now, but-- one strange thing doesn't mean you can believe another.]

...well it feels like a shame to let it die like that. If it was something I could do-- it'd be nice to protect that wish.

Well... preferably-- yeah.

[His tone says he knows that's not realistic, though.]

Sure it would be a lot of work... and there are probably a lot of them I can't grant. But even if it was just a few it'd still be worth it. Tanabata only comes around once a year after all.
