[Today is a very special day for several reasons. So Nazuna has spared no expense in getting dressed up. Despite the grand details, he moves with a very practiced grace; never once stepping on or ruffling the delicate fabrics. He intends to use it for his performance later, so he has to treat it with care. He has to say that he likes this mix of traditional and frivolous– cuteness and beauty. He’s hoping that the guests who come to visit the Palace of Sai will appreciate it just as much.

This kind of atmosphere is cloyingly sweet, the kind that might get into your head. It’s all about indulgence here and today Nazuna has become one of many consorts prepared to help people do just that. Like several other Tamamo Clan members, Nazuna’s time can easily be bought– whether you’re looking for someone to keep you company while you enjoy the exquisite and quite costly drinks. He’s happy to make sure guests remember to eat something too. Feeding someone is something he can do without even batting an eyelash.

If they have more salacious thoughts on their mind, he won’t refuse the company. Since he’s theirs for the time being, he’ll do his part to be the ideal partner; whether it’s someone cute and obedient or someone more willful and forceful.]

Ahhh the stars feel so close. On a night like tonight… any encounter could be a fateful encounter~♡

Wish-Filled Performance (1 Point)

[Those who are interested in the more artistic pleasures of the evening will be treated to a variety of performances on the stage throughout the night. And while it did require a bit of tweaking, Nazuna feels pretty fortunate to have the perfect song for tonight already in his repertoire as an idol. It would have been a bit much to do as a solo but since Robin seemed interested in Ra*bits cute style, he was able to make it into a pretty impressive duet.

Prior to the performance, the edges of the stage were lined with various flower displays; bright and vibrant colors mixed like fireworks. The displays have been neatly created to advertise for Aerith’s new flower shop.

As for the performance itself– it goes off splendidly, Robin and Nazuna putting on their very best heart-felt performance of a cute and catchy song about the holiday itself.

After the performance, Nazuna sticks around to greet his new fans; handing out flowers to anyone who’s still lingering near the stage with a wink.]

[But even hard working rabbits have to take a break sometime. For him, it’s near the end of the night. The display of stars is nothing short of breathtaking. But there’s also a sort of melancholy in it. It’s a far more beautiful sight… and even the results he received were better…

But even so, if he had to pick… he would have rather been able to meet the people he loved.

That thought is allowed to stick for all of half a second before he’s shaking his head back and forth emphatically, like he’s trying to make it fly right out of his head. He slaps his cheeks and turns his head to the bamboo trees covered in colorful talismans.]

Wow~ There are so many wishes. I hope someone is able to answer them, even if I can’t.

[ all the hard work has seemingly paid off? being offered to do a stage performance with nazuna had been, for lack of a better phrase, the best thing he could've asked for in his entire life. a major difference compared to the two other lives he's lived so far: the classical and the visual kei. he's not sure if this third one as an idol will completely pan out; he was surprised by how demanding some of the dancing was compared to what he's used to--- which is nothing.

but the music? he loves it. he can see why nazuna... nii-chan, is successful. he understands why ra*bits is successful! and part of him wishes he could do this for the rest of his life... ]

and he turns his head so he can beam bright at nazuna. they did great, didn't they? ]

[From the beginning, Nazuna had it in his mind that Robin would be the ideal partner for a performance like this. It was short notice-- so he felt bad, springing it on him so suddenly and pushing him as hard as he did. But it really, really paid off. He had a feeling the crowd could feel just how much fun the two of them were having and were having just as much fun with them.

...he really, really missed this feeling.

It wasn't the return he'd expected, but it was a debut he'd remember forever. But man. Even he's exhausted when it's all over. Just not too tired to sling an arm around Robin and give him a hug. Another brother to be super proud of~]

Ahhhh you were fantastic Robi-chin~♪

[ as the group of watchers begins to disperse, robin mirrors nazuna's action and wraps an arm around nazuna's waist. the feeling of bringing smiles to youkai and lost soul faces has certainly lifted robin's spirits too. he's getting to do what he does best, with someone who is a much bigger professional than himself, and... ]

Thank you, Nii-chan! I've never performed with anyone like you before!

[ they can certainly make their way backstage. robin waves with his other hand, towards what looks like a group of younger youkai who really enjoyed their song. one of them even makes the rabbit ears with their hands and the others giggle. ]

Certainly took a lot of work, too...!

The only thing between you and me is the level of experience we have. You have more than enough raw talent to pursue that kind of life if that's what you really want.

[He would never lie and say it's all as wonderful and sparkly as it looks, but even looking back at the painful times-- he was grateful every day that he decided to become an idol. Moments like this when he could share that feeling with other people who loved the stage like he did were the ones that reminded him that the most.]

I know I pushed you pretty hard there for a while, but-- it really paid off. If you can do something like that with just a little time to prepare, just imagine all the potential you have!

[He digs two water bottles out of his bag and tosses one Robin's way.]

[ he holds the question up for a little while longer, thoughts going towards having that kind of life. how he could certainly appeal to certain audiences using his 'angelic' voice and bright, perky personality in a more obvious way? perhaps that would be the easier way to live his life. perhaps... ]

Ah... well. Maybe one day! My band, OZ, is still growing. And I also don't think I should ever get too popular, you know?

[ it's a strange thing to say. probably. so maybe he should clarify: ]

I'm not sure if I can live my life out in the light.

[ and catching the bottle of water, he's more than happy to twist the cap off and take a few small sips. ]

The way I see it, there's no right or wrong way to be the idol you want to be. If there's something you're passionate about, you should reach for it... even if it's a stretch. Whether it's making people smile or elevating art... our music is capable of doing all those things.

[Nazuna opts to sit on the floor, pulling his knees up to his chest as he talks. He definitely has to wonder what Robin meant by that... of course he knows what it makes him think of but-- well, that's not the kind of thing you just assume carelessly. The things that made those sort of people "special"... also caused them to suffer a lot.]

There's no such thing as a business model that works for everyone-- not even in the idol industry. UNDEAD works on a nightly schedule because being awake during the day is difficult for their leader. Valkyrie is currently operating at half power since their leader is studying abroad right now. Even I made the choice to go to university, leaving Ra*bits to do their best without me. Stuff like that... it's difficult, but there are ways to make it work if you really want to.

Next time I definitely want to hear your music~

[ out of the groups that nazuna speaks of, it's UNDEAD that piques his curiosity the most. vampires are certainly undead so there's definitely a question that he's tempted to ask, but the other ones... they all just sounds like they're growing up. something that robin can't really do any longer. granted, he's also spending his time learning at a local university, but he's pretty sure if he saw nazuna there he would've recognized him almost immediately.

idols... they have a certain aura about them. a kind of presence that's hard to ignore. that's what he feels about his temporary nii-chan. ]

I'll have to sing for you sometime... um, it might sound weird but maybe I could do that for you privately.

[ well. he might as well ask nazuna now. maybe it'll tie into something very neatly. ]

Nii-chan. [ robin sits cross legged next to his senior. ] Do you know what a vampire is?

Sure thing. I'd never turn down a private performance.

[He wasn't sure if it was nerves or what, but since he's the one asking he wants Robin to be able to do it in the way that's most comfortable for him.

Ah. There it was. Nazuna doesn't seem particularly shocked when Robin asks him and he doesn't really hesitate to nod. But he does have to give his response a bit of thought. There were others who could answer better than him, but--]

I wouldn't call us really close or anything but... I've known UNDEAD's Sakuma Rei for quite a while. He was good friends with an old unitmate of mine. And then as third years we ended up in the same class. Whether he's a "real" vampire or not... well... he's lived like one for a long time. Him and his friends were labeled "eccentrics" and treated pretty poorly for it, but-- he's a good guy. Not what you'd expect from someone who labeled himself the "Demon King".

[ what an incredible life nazuna's lived so far, and yet he still seems pretty young? perhaps that's the trade-off of being an idol that robin simply doesn't understand; he's been more than happy to play the part that he has and hold the cards he's been given. but even robin knows his question is pointed, just like the fangs of a vampire, and so he thinks it'd be hard for him to get out of this line of questioning especially when he's the one who initiated it to begin with... ]

I guess living like one is probably different than actually being one, huh?

[ and robin leans back. he plants his hands behind him, so that he can sort of stretch a little at the same time. ]

... I'm asking because I'm not human. But if your Sakuma wasn't either, then I guess you have nothing to worry about! Maybe we're really similar!

[ he beams. who knows? robin's always felt 'normal'. ]

[He can't say he minds how straight forward it comes across. He'd rather get to the heart of these kinds of things; especially if it's something important. Of course there's still the matter of trying to convey his feelings on the matter-- something he's well aware he's not as good at. But if he takes his time and thinks it through he hopes he'll be able to convey what's really important.]

...the way I see it-- God, vampire-- whatever... those are still my friends.

[That's the short of it, really. For him it doesn't change his opinion much. But that may also be in part due to going to school in a place as unique as Yumenosaki. He doesn't want to oversimplify it though.]

So if you drink blood or sleep in a coffin or swim in the fountain-- what do I really care? They're weird, but I like those people just fine the way they are. Same goes for you. None of those things change the stuff that feels important. Just because we're different doesn't mean there aren't a lot of things we can't share and connect on. And well... that doesn't mean I can ever really understand what they're going through. But I can still be there for them. Just because I can't really relate doesn't mean I don't want to know.

[ robin begins to giggle, stifling it with another sip of water before resuming his relaxed pose. again, he's not sure how nazuna can be so calm and responsible and everything that robin isn't? that he has so much experience and can shrug off the possibilities of some kind of weird, strange monster that wants to dance like him. act like him. sing like him.

but instead... robin is just a boy. eternally eighteen. still that age, to be honest. ]

Well, I definitely don't sleep in a coffin. I love my bed! And I don't think I've gone swimming since our vocal unit's little vacation.

[ which ended up turning into Not A Vacation at all. instead, robin and his twin were turned into bunny boys and locked in an enchanted manor by a vampire queen who took his friend's body over and... ]

... you're awfully nice, Nazuna. Incredibly so. Where does it all come from?

[Huh. So Robin was more "normal" than the Sakumas. Well, it wasn't like it mattered one way or the other but-- it was nice to know those kinds of things about his friend anyway, right?

Being called nice-- well, it's not new. He's heard a lot of variations of it. But he wouldn't say it's correct. He didn't think anything he'd said was particularly special. But even so he knew there were plenty of people out there who weren't so understanding. It felt wrong that something like this would come off like some sort of special kindness. So... maybe if he looks at it a different way-- What was special about this to him that it made him feel this way. Where it came from then was probably... the important people who helped him realize these feelings.]

Mmm... in this case-- well... I guess you could say it's because I really like weird people.

[...it's not the most flattering statement. However--]

...the kind of passionate person who won't compromise the things they feel, no matter how painful or difficult it is-- I admire those kinds of people more than anything. For me, who had just done what others expected of me and had no true ambitions... it was probably that meeting that made me realize those feelings. Even if it was just wanting to make his dreams a reality-- it was the first time I'd ever had a wish like that.

[...ahhhhh, he ended up talking too much. Before he realized it he just started trying to explain himself and it ended up being all over the place. Flushing slightly, he shakes his head.]

A-anyway, I don't know if it's "nice", but-- that's a big part of how I got to be the person I am now. So-- if there's something you want or something you want to do... you should fight for it. Even if something or someone stands in your way, you shouldn't let it stop you. You might regret it.

robin giggles, not offended in the slightest. to be called weird? he's been called much worse things here, though not so much at home. his inherent (and recognized) cuteness sort of shields him from some of the offensive words that might go his way. that his fondness of bright colors, sweet treats, and singing and dancing has made eyebrows rise more than once. his background in the church and on stages, performing classical music literature... ]

I guess I can understand that, Nii-chan. I spent years doing other things before leaving for Japan to look for my brother. When I did, it caused me to have to change my entire life plans. I didn't have to think about where he went. What could've happened. If he was alive or not.

[ but he does wonder who is this 'his' that nazuna focused on so heavily... is he here? was he here? either way, it sounds like he grew out of that hyperfixation somehow. unlike robin. ]

But I'll fight for what I want! And for right now, I'll fight to keep performing. I wanna learn more from you! It's not like, an actual fight... but...

[ he giggles a little nervously, closing his eyes as he does his best to vocalize his thoughts. ]

... I figure you can teach me more about your Ra*bits. Maybe other groups. Maybe I can make myself into an idol here, when I'm not doing my other jobs...

[Right... his brother. It makes him feel that much more sentimental that Robin would call him brother now. Those important bonds never really go away, even if they get damaged or change shape-- so it feels special.

Nazuna feels confident in Robin's answer-- that he can definitely do this if he wants to. This is also precisely the type of thing he'd had in mind when he decided to go to college and learn about teaching others. Maybe he'd have a chance to put his hard work to good use. He'd be really happy if that were the case.]

Then I'll teach you... not just about Ra*bits, but also about Valkyrie, the unit I helped create. The others too, I can tell you what I know about them. And if you decide that's what you want to do-- I'll help you in whatever way I can.

I'd love that!

[ and he means it. the thought alone that he'd be getting a solid learning experience from someone who's passionate about it... it'll just make him a better, well-rounded entertainer in the end. it'll make him wish that idols were more of a thing back home; certainly there were that made their mark through social media and whatnot, but maybe not something as direct as these groups that nazuna knows. ]

But, can I be honest? I think Ra*bits... if you were all something I knew before? I'd be your fan. One hundred percent.

[ robin flashes a bright, sunny smile and a thumbs up to go along with it. ]

[The look on his face when Robin says he would have been a fan of Ra*bits... couldn't possibly look more happy or proud. His three years at Yumenosaki ]

Of course you can~ There's no greater compliment than that. I may not be their leader anymore, but it's no exaggeration to say that Ra*bits is my pride and joy. I wouldn't trade those kids for anything in the world. When I think about how far they've come in the past year, it's incredible.

[Nazuna isn't in any position to judge his own progress, but even he knows that so much has happened. And he was able to get through it all because he had them at his side.]

Ra*bits is living proof that if you work hard, you can overcome whatever hurdles life places in front of you. I truly believe that.

[ it's obvious to robin that nazuna is happy hearing his words, and they're all true! if only he focused on those shiny, happy faces that popped up in his feeds for a little longer rather than handle the day-to-day business... ]

You may not be their leader-leader but I'm sure you're still their leader in some sense. They probably love you as much as I do, and I don't even know you as well!

[He's only known Robin a while now, but he can already see just what a hard worker he is. He has the right spirit and the heart to go far. That just makes Nazuna want to protect him even more.]

Awwww, listen to you-- you're gonna embarrass me--!

[Yet he sounds like he's simply bursting at the seams with happiness. Being praised, being told he's loved, being needed like this-- he thought for sure that he'd lost those things when he was ripped away from the world he knew. So to have someone willing to validate his hard work... who cared for him... he couldn't be happier. Scooting over, he throws his arms around Robin and hugs him with a tight squeeze.]

It already feels like you're one of my precious juniors. If I could, I'd steal you away in an instant~

[He's mostly joking. Probably. But he hasn't forgotten what they're really supposed to be talking about. Ra*bits.]

The name, the look, the initial sound-- those are all things that were chosen before I ended up performing with them, so I can't take any credit there. Japanese school uniforms have different styles. The original uniform was based off of the sailor look for boys. Light blue is our primary color-- but you also see us use dark blue and white to match the uniforms... as well as a lot of pastel colors like yellow and pink for our visuals.

[ he sounds like someone who needs to be praised. needs to be 'embarrassed'. being able to understand a little bit of what nazuna might've gone through when it comes to the hard work, to the diligence, and to the mentoring... of course he deserves kind words.

anyway, robin's going to blush. he's pretty much been blushing this entire time to begin with, but it's back in full force. a precious junior? him?? it's more likely than you think. he already feels like a junior around the other members of his 'unit', when the other two have been vampires for way longer, and... ]

I see... so the style was picked and then you had to mesh with it.

[ a few nods of appreciation and understanding follow. ]

Pastels?! I love pastels! I probably could stand to add some more myself, though I do love these colors.

[ his mostly blue uniform, the yellow ribbon around his head. ]

And I love the sailor aesthetic! It's really cute. I think any way you can make a uniform fit to something less... um, for that use? It's memorable...

[He likes to think he's more subtle than he is. Or maybe it's just easy to miss that kind of thing when he's busy admiring just how cute Robin is when he blushes like this.]

Mmn~! Well... it's a style I was confident I could make work for me. But it was still a pretty big departure from what I was used to. Still, any worries I might have had were nothing compared to what those kids were going through. Even then, it felt like I couldn't just leave them alone. Although... my reasons for choosing to stand on stage with them weren't entirely selfless either. There was a part of me that hoped my songs might reach my old unit and they'd be able to smile again too. You can't help but smile when you see something really cute, right? A little like that. I think you'd look good in pastel colors.

[Nazuna becomes quiet for a moment. He loosens his hold on Robin a little, but he doesn't properly let go for another minute or so until he seems to have figured out his thoughts.]

Being able to perform again... I wasn't sure what it would feel like, in this situation-- but I really enjoyed it.

[He leans forward, turning in towards Robin so he can see his face better.]

...If I said I wanted to create a new unit-- something unique to this place... would you join me?

A unit? With you?

[ his tone is thoughtful and light, curious and touched with wonderment. to be part of an idol unit... well, he didn't think it would happen here of all places. sure, there were those could perform and stuff, but nothing like what could be done with someone who has direct experience, and... ]

Yeah! I would! I want to bring light to everyone here, you know? Let people escape some of the less... fun parts of being in hell, I guess.

[ and he turns to look at nazuna with a toothy (and almost fangy) smile. ]

I'd love to do this with you.

Aha~ I knew I had asked the right person.

[Their wishes weren’t so different at all, really. He can’t help but feel he was really lucky to have met Robin.

Or maybe it was fate after all.]

What I want to create… I guess you could say it’s kind of a combination of both the units I belonged to. One that can create something beautiful… that will lift the hearts and spirits of those who watch. Art that makes people smile. I think together the two of us can definitely do that~
