I wake up at lunch time, Kenchin and I go to school, eat there, I sleep all afternoon classes, and then we go out and prepare for the Manji rallies. You'd-- I wouldn't know you existed.

I guess it's because... you've lived a way different life from me. I suppose I'm technically a delinquent now since I've stopped going to school, but you've apparently been on a totally different journey. And... you're also out there looking for your own freedom and your own path.

So, when you weren't at school, what were you doing? Just skipping? Or was there to it?

[ That's like three questions in one, but he's totally counting it as one question with some clarifications. ]

I would be with my people. Hanging out, eating, drinking, riding our bikes, brawling - when we were not busy with Tokyo Manji affairs. We have over a hundred people, so we have to deal with a lot of things. Protecting our territory and people came with it - it's not unusual for rival gangs to try to front, either. We have wars and structures, so we often have meetings with everyone to announce developments, too.

Oh, wow, you honestly had a whole gang and everything! So, you'd actually get into fights? Like real gang wars? You're not yakuza or anything, but... sounds kind of intense.

[ He has to think of another question. ]

Were you in charge of all of that? That's impressive.

Always getting into fights. I have never lost, though.

Every gang has a hierarchical structure. I'm the President, but I don't deal with all this on my own. If you've seen a very tall boy with a dragon tattoo on his skull, for instance, he's my Vice-President. I have my division captains here, too. And down the line the others go. Acting division captains, specific division members, so on.

It's like an army or something. Super organized!

[ He's never really gotten into any of that, honestly. But it sounds like it's a big thing all on its own. ]

What's the goal, though? To just... have territory and be at the top?

... Not exactly. My dream is partly to be at the top, but there's much more than that. I want to create a world for people like us, I want us to see how far we can go with just our fists, and protect the ones I care about, while stomping on those who fuck up what a true delinquent is about. A new era. Money, drugs, weapons, all that shit ain't about it.
