GENERAL
[He got to admit... the Kappa's tech impressed him. Though by no means are there on the same level as Cybertronian tech, he is surprised that they had the tech to set up his holomatter avatar and have it be functional again. Apparently they had a concept for hard light based projection and already had a couple projections ready for him to test with- rudimentary than his own life-like projection, yet still impressive considering the average tech level organics he's seen. As for his own holoavatar projection... After a considerable time of examination and testing, adjusting response time, ... Everything's working perfectly as intended.
And today he decided to take his new holoavatar out on the street of Jigoku-cho, strictly around the Sutoku territory rather than the confined of the Kappa's warehouses. The avatar can be seen mindlessly wandering around the street, occasionally pausing to look at the blindingly light arcade and department stores, or going in a convenient mart to buy drinks and simultaneously figuring out what anything that's not a drink is. Like, he doesn't know what a frozen pizza is?
Otherwise, anyone from Sutoku Alliance may not have seen or recognized this "woman" though there is clearly a Sutoku pin on "her". The white mask and red visor, however, might be able to clue in to some...]
ii - reading
[He's heard that there's a public library somewhere in Emma district, and in the interest of learning about youkai and their culture, that is where he'll spend the rest of his day.
He's rifling through books, specifically the works of Toriyama Sekien. Though there are a couple unrelated to the topic of youkai, poetry from modern human times and ancient classic.
Thanks to the visor, everyone is spared of the avatar's eyes scanning over the text with unnerving speed, but he can be seen flipping to the next page every few seconds. Clearly someone should interrupt him.]
iii - food tasting
[At a certain bar or fast food restaurant in the Sutoku Alliance's territory, Soundwave sits and stares down at his order, a fizzy drink, a burger and a side of fries. He was curious, wanting to test if the holoavatar is able to detect taste. Jigoku-cho has a variety of unique food than what Cybertron can offer, but... aside from the drink, he has no idea what any of these food are.
One may find Soundwave dissecting the burger with a fork and knife, taking off the top bun first, then the tomato, lettuce, patty... you get the idea. He's scrutinizing them. Whether he knows you or not, he'll fully turn his face towards you if he catches you staring.]
What?
[(ooc: little ooc note, his avatar's mask is silver like his own faceplate, not yellow like in the artwork.)]
Food Tasting
[The blue haired, red-eyed girl staring at him as he stared at the components of what had once been a burger looked a teensy bit mortified and very very confused. It was genuinely hard to understand why she was seeing what she was seeing as she stared at the holoavatar, unknowing the reality behind it.]
Aren't you... hungry?
[And with that, she flopped into the seat opposite him without so much as a by your leave, because that was kind of just how she was. There was a hot dog in front of her, drenched in something that could be politely called "Meat Sauce" and several other fixings, along with fries... equally drenched in the same sauce.
Look, she was immortal. She had terrible dietary habits and this shit was delicious.]
no subject
... I am not worried about it being poisoned.
[Will Soundwave elaborate? Apparently not for a bit as the holoavatar lifted a bun up and stared at the white condiment under it. Eugh, it looked gross. Though Soundwave's attention returned to the blue haired girl when she took the seat at the opposite end of the table, head tilting to the side and brows curving upwards. But otherwise he didn't seem to reject the new company.
He knew that fast food establishment typically serves unhealthy food, but what she had on her tray seems... extra unhealthy. Oh well... it was her own choice. At least Soundwave had no concern for any health problem if he ate with his holoavatar instead. Which he had yet to try.]
No. I am simply curious about this... "burger".
[Said in a way that clearly sounded like it was something completely foreign. And the truth was that it was actually foreign to Soundwave.]
no subject
Huh... that was... definitely next level research. She swallowed once.]
You never had a burger before, I'm guessing? Boy, you're in for a lot of new stuff around here, miss... oh right. Sorry, names Tenshi.
no subject
[Soundwave will admit to that much. So yes, a lot of new stuff to experience and also potentially be grossed out by. Partly why he sort of hesitated to put the burger in his mouth.
His head tilted to the side at the 'miss'. Oh, right. The avatar. Not that it really mattered, honestly. By human standard, he wasn't a 'mister' either. It just translated better in their language.]
Soundwave.
no subject
[Said the woman shoveling coney fries into her mouth who absolutely did not own a deep fryer, but who's counting? She bobbed her head and thought about it as she chewed. Look, it was a miracle she didn't speak with her mouthful. After the next swallow, she gestured with a fork.]
You should watch someone cook then. That'd tell you lots about the food you're eating. I think... I... uh...
That's an interesting name. Isn't that more of a 'thing' than a person?
[Technically, no, Tenshi. A soundwave is a waveform and energy lacks mass, thus making it not actually a 'thing' but rather energy, so it's more of a term definining an action and ... god damnit. Nevermind.]
no subject
[Don't worry about that. He's the nerd here.]
But I digress. 'Soundwave' is my real name. Or rather, it's the closest translation I could find for the human tongue to pronounce easily.
[Though the holoavatar came with a fake ID, name, age, and all, he opted to not use them. At least not for this avatar specifically, since he intended to show this to others from his faction members and a couple few from other factions. Besides, he wasn't in any reconnaissance mission right now. Just here figuring out what all these weird foodstuffs are.]
Watching someone cook will certainly tell me about this food. But... Perhaps you could tell me instead? I do not even know what I am staring at.
no subject
[Blinking and stopping thinking about waveforms and the like, she looked down at the food for a second, considering. Huh, so they wanted her to describe what they were looking at?]
Well I mean, the brown thing's the hamburger. It's a cooked meat patty. And people add sauces and vegetables with it because those taste good? Then it's between bread buns. But, I mean, what do you want to know exactly?
no subject
[That's what you say when someone say something nice, right? His social skills are still lacking.]
They are good? The... sauces? The sauces make the hamburger looks sort of gross.
no subject
She looked down at the mess and frowned.]
Well, like that maybe definitely. So... you've got three there. Uh, the red stuff is ketchup, the yellow stuff is mustard and the white is mayonnaise. There's a red bottle and a yellow bottle right there. Put a dab on your tongue and taste them. The ketchup's kind of sweet and the mustard's tangy? They are supposed to add to the flavor, but not everyone likes them.
Me, I don't like mayonnaise. I don't even know how it's made. It's just creamy and thick?
no subject
That aside, the avatar's gaze turns to the bottles Tension pointed out. Hm. Guess he could give that a try...
So, he grabs the red one first before the silver faceplate and red visor slides open, revealing the red-eyed young woman underneath. He dabs a tiny bit of ketchup on his fingertip and gives it a lick.]
Mm.
[Like she said, it was sweet and he doesn't find himself disliking it. As for the mustard bottle, he tries a little a dab and sort of reels away at the taste.]
I think I prefer the ketchup more...
no subject
Yeah, the ketchup is better if you ask me. You can probably spoon a bit of the mayonnaise away from the rest to try that out yourself. They kind of combine to have a sort of shared flavor, so that mustard isn't 'as' strong when you have them together. But, I hear there's people who only want one or the other on it.
[A shrug. People had their tastes, after all. She just didn't agree personally.]
As for the rest? They mix in onions, lettuce, pickles and tomatoes a lot. If you like the ketchup, you probably want the tomatoes and the lettuce. The onions? I don't know if you'll like those. I don't.
no subject
[There's a bit of it he can see left on the patty. After spooning the bit, he gives it a lick. Hmmm.] Sour? [Not as good as ketchup, but better than the strong taste of mustard. Probably wouldn't have it by itself, but if it's combined with the other condiments than he wouldn't mind it. Boy, he's learning so many new stuff.]
Onions... [The green stuff is lettuce, and the red slice is tomato. The band looking things are presumably the onions? He pokes at it with a fork.] I assume this is the onion? Well, what did it taste like to you?
[If she doesn't like it...]
no subject
[She was trying to figure out what it tasted like. What was the word that you would use, other than saying onions tasted onion-y? Because that's what it was she would have said normally? But if she couldn't say onion taste, she had to come up with something else?]
Kind of pungent? And it makes the meat taste more strongly? Yeah, that seems appropriate.
