Pre-event Enma Meeting
Who ⬤ Team Enma
What ⬤ Pre-event coordination
When ⬤ 3/31, 7 pm
Where ⬤ Kaigo no Bou - meeting room
Content Warnings ⬤ Probably none but will update if needed
[ Well, it would appear, following his post, that the Enma is rather hands-off in his management approach; so if the members of his department wish to coordinate their efforts to maintain order during the much-publicized and now-imminent Night Parade event, it seems they'll just have to meet up and discuss plans on their own time. That suits Stronghart just fine.
It's a last minute effort, but throughout the day on Thursday, any member of his faction whom he encounters will be instructed to gather at the meeting room where they all met on their first day here at 7 o'clock in the evening in order to discuss their plans and assign roles as needed.
He does not actually arrive there himself until 7:08. It's fine. ]

Ten years is a good long tenure for his work. Considering your combined expertise, I hope we get to see the two of you work together again.
[ he did catch the fact that he'd been speaking about him in past tense, but ... ten years is ten years. perhaps barok van zieks had just decided for a career change, that's not entirely uncommon. ]
And please, Dimitri is fine. I am not lord of anything here. [ nor is it quite accurate that he's just a lord, anyway, but he needn't go around announcing he's a prince to anyone, which, he feels, is more unnecessary. ] We are colleagues, are we not? Let us speak freely with one another.

[ His delivery is dry as ever, but he does mean it. Corrupt aristocrats have long been a thorn in both his own side and that of the Empire, so a noble who actually lives up to the word is always something of a breath of fresh air... so long as that purity doesn't twist itself into something ugly with time. ]
I certainly have no objection to working alongside him again. Our familiarity with one another's working styles, strengths, and weaknesses could very well prove advantageous here when most of us are little more than strangers.
[ though lmao he could say a few things about how much of that tenure van Zieks actually spent working. ]
With that said, though we are indeed all colleagues here, I'm not in the habit of addressing mine so casually. Can we consider "Mr. Blaiddyd" to be a satisfactory compromise?

and oh dear. he thinks highly of van zieks still!!!! ]
That's alright with me. Would you prefer the same? Or something else?
Such familiarity can be a boon. I myself have friends here, though both are in different factions. Although I'd rather they weren't trapped here with me, I feel lucky to have them. [ with apologies to felix, but yuri would probably say something nice. ]
And I'm sure others have spoken of something already, but I am also trained in combat and have some experience in leading smaller groups in battle. I'm happy to offer my skills to keeping the peace while seeing what the festival has to offer.

[ Though it's pretty clearly not what he prefers; unlike many, his title is one he earned rather than something he was born into. He has no reason to feel like he doesn't deserve it now. ]
We have more trained combatants than I was expecting, which has been a pleasant surprise, and I imagine your specific brand of leadership experience will be quite useful. Having trusted allies in the other factions shouldn't hurt, either.
no subject
[ he nods at the idea of 'trusted allies'; for now. ]
'Trusted allies' is true. I have history with both of them and can reasonably say that they will vouch for me if needed. [ dimitri omits himself from that, because he can't reciprocate in the way others would in his situation. he is a prince, he has his goal here. it would be reckless of him to promise something he already knows he can't keep.
he pauses, and then he adds, ] That being said, I am not sure how that will be used here. It has never been looked fondly by the nobility if one supports one house over the other; I have no doubts that this will also be the same here, with the different factions in play. They are my friends.
[ he has one (1) fear. ]
