[Metal had arrived to the building in question in order to investigate a potential bomb sighting, but he was just a bit later than Croix in arriving. As he approached, the gas canister inside had been ignited by her defusal of the device and set the whole place up in flames, causing him to stop suddenly and cover his optics with one of his arms.

As he lowered his arm and saw the flames raging, he decided this was a lost cause. There was no need to stay any longer.

But as he turned and took a step or two to leave, that was when the sudden crash of glass caused him to snap his attention towards the building again, his attention now stuck on the fact a familiar figure was coming through it. He might not have his super speed, but his A.I. chip is still built to make split second decisions during life or death scenarions; he pushes himself forward with one foot and holds out his arms, managing to catch Croix as she falls through the window...but he falls as well, so he tries to shield her body as he hits the ground and rolls the moment he hits the floor. Granted, it won't be the most comfortable save of her life given he's effectively a cushion of steel and edges, but it's better than hitting the floor with nothing between her and it at least.]

[ Croix let out a grunt as she effectively collided with Metal, wincing as she felt her ribs ache like fire. She tried to push herself up off of him, but the strength of her arms gave out, and she fell back against him, blood dripping from the cut on her forehead. ]

Hnn...we've got...got to get out of here...

[mechspeed]

Yes. [He watches her attempt at rising, as well as failing, seemingly passive. But now that he's confirmed the extent of her weakness, he can move.] Try to keep still. I am incapable of tending to wounds, so it is best you do not injure yourself further.

[He at least tries to move her carefully, but he is nowhere near as delicate as he needs to be with someone in Croix's condition. Knowing that, he figures it's for the best he simply moves as quickly as possible and doesn't linger.

Once she's off of him, he stands up and picks her off the ground to carry her.]

Hold on if you can.

[ Holding on is pretty much all Croix can do, though it's difficult, given Metal's armor is likely heating up rather bad due to the heat. But worrying about wounds can wait. ]

G..Go...

[mechspeed]

[And he's off.

He is of course much slower without the use of his jet, but it doesn't mean he doesn't know how to effectively run either. If that was the case, there would be no reason for him to have legs to begin with.

Unfortunately, on top of everything, she will have to put up with a somewhat bumpy ride - he is trying his best not to rattle her along the way given her condition, but his attempts are only adequate. Moving like this with someone he's trying to keep safe is new, so he's adapting on the fly here.

Still, after what will seem like an eternity of uncomfortable journeying he manages to locate someone who can handle Croix's condition. His explanation is, as expected, both abrupt and brief, but he's at least managed to get the point across. Helps he's quite literally carrying an injured person, it helps get the message across.

Once that's settled, he looks to the woman in his arms.]

Can you stand? This person will tend to your wounds.

[ Croix continued to hold on even throughout the rough trip, and when they arrived at the medical personnel, she did her best to stand up. However, she had to push against and lean on Metal before all was said and done. ]

Hrn. Thank you, Sonic...

[This is kind of the first time ever he's been thanked for something.

Feels weird man.]

[And with all that said and done, it might be expected he'd just leave.

Even he expects himself to leave, but he watches Croix from behind briefly before suddenly speaking up.]

Even with your injuries tended to, you have experienced a physically traumatic situation. You will be no in condition to move alone. [...] I will escort you once I have ensured my duties to the Enma are fulfilled.

[ Croix nodded, and it took only a bit longer before her chest was bandaged and she could leave. But not under her own power. ]

I certainly hope that's your way of saying you'll walk me home.

[mechspeed]

[And in the meantime, he'd been checking out the situation. It seemed as if things were dying down a bit...he could probably afford to cool off for a while now.]

If you feel you require it, then I will do so.

[ Croix nods, and then goes proceeds to lean against him. ]

Alright then. I'll stick with you until you're able to leave.

[mechspeed]

It should be alright to leave now. However, I was not designed for matters of delicacy. If along the way my support is not adequate, you will simply have to tolerate it.

[Not "sorry if I'm bad at supporting you", just "this is all you've got". It's a rude little robot she's acquainted herself with.
