Who ⬤ The clinic crew and perhaps you!
What ⬤ A open mingle log for all needs
When ⬤ September and onwards
Where ⬤ Between Sutoku and Enma territories
Content Warnings ⬤ Possible discussion of medical procedures, others in headers if needed
Open from eight AM to eight PM, this Lost Soul-maintained clinic has been quietly offering assistance to those in need for the past several months. To those in the know, the red cross sign in the window is a beacon for people who need a professional's eye and who for one reason or another - financial, skeptical, etc. - would prefer the intimacy of a private facility. To those not, the whispers are enough to point you in the right direction, the general agreement to not shout about it and keep it under the radar, for affordable and easily accessed healthcare is worth its own weight in gold
Patients are primarily checked in at the front, and either seen by a doctor or one of the assistants. Everything from basic checkups to immediate care is available, as well as compounded medicine for those with particular ailments. To things that just can't be handled in the private space, the staff will see to the proper referrals. Walk ins are always available - even emergencies, just call the number on the sign with the hours.
For staff and volunteers, there's always something to do. Paperwork, attending to patients, taking turns on the front desk, supply transport and acquisition - there's always an assignment for the day, and a schedule written up to be followed on the local chalkboard. Yes, the space below can be for whatever doodles you want, or just writing in when you'll next need time off. The break room contains one Nice radio, courtesy of a certain audiophile, and whether one is following the intricacies of oni baseball or new tunes, it's treated with respect. The calendar pinned to the wall contains everyone's noted down birthdays as per their hiring sheets, and there is now debate on starting a book club, given the inclination of most working there.
The second floor of the clinic is not yet finished, but Dr. Dyer has plans for it, and it's being worked on during slower shifts. Cleaning, painting, and basic repair is to be expected, as well as getting it ready to include a few more beds for when overnight patients are needed. Out the back door, however, is the most popular place to take a break amongst those working - the herbal garden filled with medicinal plants, steadily maintained along the other tasks at hand. A pair of small benches offers a place to rest one's feet, and the scene of tranquility is complete with the sound of the recently installed fountain - the water within also has healing properties, and is used in treatments. But one doesn't need to be ill to appreciate a calming scene.
The city keeps them busy enough, and the clinic so far manages to persevere, putting down small roots in Hell.
(this is a mingle log for everyone who comes through the clinic through the month of september and onwards. all top levels are welcome, from those already involved to new patients to those curious about the workings. talk to your friends, get someone to look at you bleeding your own blood, help with whatever you like - the sky is yours.
if you have any questions, pm me, otherwise enjoy!) © tessisamess

[ Truth was, Tamamo had folks that could take care of Musashi if she was wounded or incapacitated in any way. Emily didn't need to feel that burden. But it went beyond simply just being Musashi's healer, and she knew that. It was just needing to know... that there's still be a Musashi to come back to, when it was all said and done. ]
I and I need you to promise me the same, okay? No matter what happens... we're coming back to this spot. Together.
no subject
[of course she'd let them heal her if they wanted, but it's about knowing what state she's in. that she's alive, that she's not suffering. to lose her is unthinkable. let her be there to chide and smile and breathe easier, knowing that she didn't lose someone else she cared for.]
Whatever ends up happening, I'm holding you to that promise, to be here and sit with me when it's over, and we can talk about everything that's passed.
[not as ranked officers, but as themselves. that's what makes this moment special, and the hand that's not holding her dango goes to find Musashi's, to hold on warmly.]
no subject
No force in this hell or any other could keep me from coming back here, to this spot, to sit with you...
[ And every word carried with it the weight of certainty. This wasn't like that time she'd been shot; she was as strong as ever now, fully capable of fighting the gods themselves if she had to. To use that strength to not only keep everyone safe, but to make sure Emily wouldn't be sitting on this bench alone... she had no doubt in her ability to keep that promise. ]
no subject
Will you tell me before you go?
[just a word. a piece of knowledge, one that harmed no one to give. let her wish her well, before she had to play at enemies.]
no subject
[ She's sure her subordinates will understand. Perhaps more than all the others she was romantic with in the city... Emily was someone who needed that, the most. An anchor to hold them both to each other.
The tides certainly threatened to rip them away from that shared embrace. But Musashi didn't show any fear of that. No matter how things panned out... she'd make her way back to Emily.
She'd already promised, swore on the very stars above them. ]
no subject
[and she would. like that, it would be even easier to do it as herself, perched on Musashi's balcony, getting to be a little daring of her own. after all, Musashi deserved her own sweet moments, her own surprises. it'd help Emily's own nerves, to get to send her off.]
no subject
My apartment's such a mess, though. I'd be totally embarrassed!
[ But... it would be a lot more intimate, for them. It wasn't as if Emily didn't know about Musashi's living situation, either. And to have her own little songbird there to greet her... It made her heart beat a little faster, at the idea. ]
But... maybe not if it was you.
no subject
[and she pulls back a little, eyes lowering, and she feels the heat in her cheeks before she says it.]
I know it's vain, but I thought I could be cool for you, just once.
[please don't make her say that again. she'll die. she's a grown woman and here she is admitting she wanted to be cool.]
no subject
[ Even if part of that had been Hibiki getting involved, but hey, who was keeping score, right? ]
I definitely bet you could manage it again!
[ She was being supportive but... it was also obvious she was getting a bit of joy from teasing Emily about it, as well. ]
no subject
[she's blushing a bit more, for it's easy to tease her when you get started.]
Anyway, you better tell me that day, or I'll get mad at you.
no subject
I will, I will! After making you blush like this, I'd be really cruel not to, right?
no subject
It's more that you'd make me worry about you too much...
[she can't even hold onto the being mad at her for more than a moment. it wouldn't work like that.]
no subject
[ They'll both be out there, facing unknown dangers, both from the environment, but from the target itself... and possibly each other's own factions. There were so many factors to draw worry from, so many shadows of uncertainty reaching up to blot out the sun, deprive them of any light to hope for...
... But still, Musashi smiled, gently holding Emily, peppering her with kisses, with her own bits of 'light', parts of her for Emily to embrace... ]
But that just means we both need to focus on getting back here, to this spot, to each other...
