[While this specific method of wish-making is unfamiliar to Lalli, he gets the general concept of it. Make a prayer to the gods- in this case ones named Orihime and Hikoboshi, apparently- and they might grant your prayers. But Lalli is hesitant to pray to a god besides the ones from his own pantheon, and he's staring down at the strip of paper in his hands with a frown.]
This won't offend my gods, will it?
[His gods aren't that mean, but he does feel like they would be annoyed with one of their own mages making prayers in another way. What to do, what to do...]
[Meanwhile, as Hu Tao was ready to tie her paper to a tree, she raised an eyebrow as she heard a familiar voice. Releasing the branch, she made her way toward him before tilting her head to the side.]
I don't think so. You're not in their world anymore so I don't think they would be mad.
[Although, that does make her question what his world was like. What kind of gods would be mad over something like this?]
[This is true, he's not in their world anymore. They haven't responded to his prayers, and though he can feel the faint tugs of his magic it isn't the same as it would be back home. This magic is coming from within, rather than from the gods.
Perhaps becoming possessed by a youkai has changed how his magic works entirely. Hmm. What a thought.]
...Kissa is Japanese. So she can write one.
[He is not letting his youkai take control of his body. He will just write a prayer for her instead.
[She asked before pondering to herself. She didn't know what he was talking about but that didn't stop her curiosity getting the better of her. Now that she got a look at said piece of paper?]
Whoever she is though, she sure seems rather...fishy.
[He pauses, listening to Kissa's chiding in his mind. Hu Tao might even notice how his gaze drifts slightly upward and to the right as he pauses there for a moment.]
Sometimes, but only ever to me. She doesn't like coming out much. There's too many youkai stronger than her here and she doesn't like it.
[Kissa is already chiding Lalli for telling secrets like that, but it's not really secret-worthy to Lalli. They'll both get stronger over time, it's fine.]
[It really is quite the relationship between them. Lalli is often forced to speak on her behalf too, which makes him talk way more than he would otherwise.]
Realistic wishes are for the best. If you wish for the unobtainable you will only be disappointed.
[Just. Pointing that out. Once someone is dead, they are very dead. Even if you can still see their soul and talk to them, that doesn't make them any less-dead.]
[Well! Hu Tao definitely had her fair share of dealing with questionable people from various backgrounds. But this was a first! Again, she raised an eyebrow before leaning in a bit.]
Would it be safe to assuming you're a spirit that helps them to the afterlife?
[As much as she wanted to crack a joke, she really couldn't.]

If Hu Tao peeks, the wish is for "lots of fish".]

...a Bakeneko. She does like fish yes.
no subject
[Not that it was a bad request, she thought it was cute. But as she looked at Lalli, she gave him a curious look.]
I suppose she is one who talks a lot, huh?
no subject

But she would like fish, yes.

[She said with a giggle. She might not really know Lalli nor Kissa that well but she already had a feeling they had quite the relationship.]
Now that wasn't a wish that was hard to grant now, was it?
no subject
Realistic wishes are for the best. If you wish for the unobtainable you will only be disappointed.

[then, there was a pause or two. Gesturing toward a place, she gave a slight frown.]
Although, I suppose it depends on what the wish is.

I'm sorry, I hope that whoever that person was? They found some peace.
no subject
Not mine. I guide the souls of the dead. I hear their cries often.
[It's far easier to blame his experience on hearing ghosts cry about their deaths 'before their time' than it is to admit that he misses his family.]

[As much as she wanted to crack a joke, she really couldn't.]
no subject
[Well. With a youkai tagalong, but details.]
But I still help souls get to the afterlife. Sometimes they get stuck and need help.
no subject
[And on that note?]
I certainly hope that you're okay though.
no subject
[He's been doing this job for a long time after all, and someone has to do it.]
no subject
[Pause]
Otherwise, I'm afraid I might be the one who has to bury you here.
no subject
[Sometimes you're from a zombie apocalypse world and you cremate people to make sure they don't come back.]
no subject
Then is there a specific urn you might want? I'll have to make sure you get one that is of the upmost quality due to your service!
no subject
That way my soul doesn't remain attached to my body, and I can pass on to the next life.
no subject
[She said in all complete honesty!]
Although, I'm surprised you would want to burn it rather than put it in a coffin.
no subject
[Um. Hm. That sure is something.]
no subject
With that, she'll raise an eyebrow before crossing her arms. That is quite the statement he got there.]
Is there a reason why you want to make sure you stay dead?
