It's a hope that what he does for others is actually helpful. Sure, he can save them from crumbling buildings, get cats out of trees, and all that. But helping people in other ways feels more meaningful for Hawks. Sometimes people need a hero in a non-traditional way, and he wants to provide that as much as he can.

"Good," he chirps.

The way he moves to stand on the edge is surprisingly quick and smooth. The motions of someone comfortable with or without the ground beneath his feet. And once he stands, he turns, offering his free hand down to Shoto to help him to his feet.

"Let's get you up."

Even if that's true, Hawks won't ever stop trying to help. There's always going to be that need to be someone's hero, and there's a small part of him that wants to do this for Endeavor. He knows the relationship between Shoto and his father isn't great back home, but he knows Endeavor would want to be able to take care of and help his son as much as he can. It's the least he can do for the number one hero, even if the other man isn't here.

Once they're on their feet, he keeps his hand wrapped around Shoto's for a moment to make sure his balance is steady. And then, he shifts their hands, turning Shoto's palm up and cradling it from below. His other hand reaches over to leave his feathers in his hand. Slowly drawing his hand away, he keeps one of his own feathers in his hand, turning his body forward so he's facing the ledge instead of Shoto.

"Pick of one the feathers. And then think about someone you miss or feel like you need to say something to. You can say it out loud, if you want."
