Catcup
pawspause when his eyes saw the set of teacups in the window of a local tea shop. Knowing the owners well already for having been a frequenter of said shop, he stopped in to have another look at them. In fact, they're more than perfect when he's explained that the cups hold hot liquid but keep your hand cool because of the lack of proximity to the rim.Hot and cold?
After taking less than a second in thinking of whom one of these may make the
purrfectperfect gift for and a token of his appreciation for their fond friendship with the continuation of... Shoto plucks out a little message on his phone as hepurrchasespurchases the little cups and the woman behind the counter wraps them in silky fabric.Itadori. Can you come over today? If not, then tomorrow?
Fledgling
"I'm almost there." is the next text before he's putting his phone away and starting up fire escapes. There are other ways he's sure, but this is the way that he feels is giving him the better work out. Other ways he's more used to scaling easier back home. It hasn't been that long since he's scaled a building, but it feels like it's much harder without his quirk at full. Once he reaches the top of the building, Shoto hops up and looks around. He knows who he's looking for and has a feeling Hawks does too.

Sure!
I’ll drop by after my shift. In an hour or so. See ya, then!
[ yuuji didn’t really think much of it, taking it as a casual invite to hang out with a good friend and nothing more. in which he brought it upon himself to collect some takeaway from a local restaurant that he grew quite fond of; he got some cold soba with various side dishes and some cold refreshments. nothing too pricey, and yet certainly a hearty meal they both can enjoy together. maybe then go out to get some ice cream? here's an idea.
once he reaches shoto’s apartment, he knocks on the door and waits for the other. and by waiting— the sorcerer gave it a mere five seconds before he went for the knob, twisting it open. ]
I'm coming in~
messiest design ever we don't talk about it
His only other purchases fit into one bag and he's home with plenty of time from an hour to get into some comfortable sweats and t-shirt combo.
The knock on the door turns his head and nothing else, he's left it unlocked for a reason and not something he often does. He knows that the person on the other side is going to let themselves in and he's perfectly fine with that. The water he's warming is done by hand if only to keep his practice up and now that he's got the knowledge of the limitations of his quirk, it's only better to do. "Hello," he leaves the pot that he as boiling the water in on his stove and turns instead to go welcome his visitor, "Please come in, make yourself at home." His hand gestures to the kotatsu by the window, a present from the locals for all his hard work daily. Without them knowing about his quirk he accepted it just because it's kind and otherwise his place is pretty unfurnished.

When he hears the other on the fire escape, he waves with a small smile. It was Shoto after all, then. "Yo," he greets, moving to motion to the spot next to him. He's perched on the edge of the rooftop, balancing easily, arms folded across his thighs.
"Want to join me?" Hand dropping, he gently pats the ledge where he's perched.
no subject
He does want to join him. Just as much as anyone else, Hawks is another reminder of home and one that he doesn't mind being around. Without hesitation or fear, Shoto steps up onto the same edge, sitting flat down with his legs hanging off the edge. "Did you know it was me when you invited me here?"
Shoto wouldn't be upset at the answer, it's more a curiosity that opens up the topic again. His mismatched eyes look out across the city from their little vantage point, never down, not yet. "It doesn't matter if you didn't. I'm just curious."
yuuji won't judge ...
[ a burst of energy and loud as always, the sorcerer is certainly not timid from taking up that offer as starts by shrugging off his jacket and hooking it on the coat-hanger, he then tucks his shoes neatly close to the entrance; like a proper guest! now that he's more comfortable, yuuji heads toward the neat setup, carefully placing their late lunch on the table and kneeling down on his side of the kotatsu. as he worked on rearranging the plastic containers, he gestures for shoto to bring some extra plates.
yup, totally acting like this is his second home. ]
You gotta try their soba. It’s soooo good! I’ve been dreaming about it since last night.

"I started to suspect it might be, but I wasn't sure." No use in lying about it. "I'm always here to help. Whether it's someone I know or not."
He takes in a deep breath, enjoying the feeling of the air against his skin and how it rustles his hair and feathers. He's sure there's going to be a lot of questions about what he has in mind, best to enjoy a moment of silence before they get started. After a moment, he lifts a hand out in front of him, a couple of his feathers floating out of his wings to land in a neat pile in the palm of his hand. "You sure you want my help?"
no subject
The quiet silence after is a nice moment or two, even the sound of said wings is a comfort that Shoto isn't opposed to just knowing exist beside him on someone familiar. It shouldn't feel as safe as it does sitting with Hawks, not because he thinks he'd ever hurt him, but he should be able to take care of himself. Yet. Here he is, letting the situation and the man beside him be the factor that makes him feel safer than his own capabilities as lowered as they--
Floating red plumage, even in small amounts catch his eyes and instinctively he watches them, turning instead to look at Hawk's face at his question. His hands tighten on the edge of the roof, again not because he's afraid but because he's concerned this help is going to end up in him having to make a move and decide which is safer, up or down. Despite that and despite the curious and cautious look. "Yes. I came here for your help." He's certain that no matter what it ends up being, he'll accept it.
no subject
"Soba?" he asks, acknowledging the request for the plates. Yes he most certainly does have to try it. Cold or not, the treat is there. "Thanks for bringing it." Plates and chopsticks in hand, he settles them on the flat of the table, then goes back the few feet to the counter where he can retrieve the box with the two cups in it. On his second trip back, it's box under the care of his right arm and the kettle with a round coaster-like stand under the care of his left.
The coaster is set down first and the kettle next on top of it, followed simply by the box as Shoto kneels to take his place at the table. Wordlessly further, he slides the white box across the table. "Here. Open this. I'll finish your tea after."
no subject
"Good," he chirps.
The way he moves to stand on the edge is surprisingly quick and smooth. The motions of someone comfortable with or without the ground beneath his feet. And once he stands, he turns, offering his free hand down to Shoto to help him to his feet.
"Let's get you up."
But my heart :/
Wherever up is, Shoto is going to follow without hesitance. Up on that ledge with Hawks' hand in his still. The trust in himself and the trust in his mentor is exactly why he stands there, unafraid.
sorry i am forever slow
Once they're on their feet, he keeps his hand wrapped around Shoto's for a moment to make sure his balance is steady. And then, he shifts their hands, turning Shoto's palm up and cradling it from below. His other hand reaches over to leave his feathers in his hand. Slowly drawing his hand away, he keeps one of his own feathers in his hand, turning his body forward so he's facing the ledge instead of Shoto.
"Pick of one the feathers. And then think about someone you miss or feel like you need to say something to. You can say it out loud, if you want."
It's okay, I am too. I still have another tag I owe you lol
Shoto's eyes look from the feathers to Hawks' face even as he turns and then back to the feathers, frowning lightly at the instructions. Not so much that he's been instructed to, but he's aware of... His chest raises and gently falls again, a sighed breath as he picks one of the ironically red feathers. "It's Kirishima." He really, really hopes that there's no room for judgment. "I miss him."
