[It's a not-rude-rude thing to say that Shoto takes as absolutely zero rude to have said to him. That's a compliment. He did a good job. Megumi will find that, easily, Shoto is a person who appreciates the praise under the comments.]
Thank you.
[Hey, even Shoto isn't going to just go no abilities if they have to. There's no reason not to defend themselves and maybe together a Shadowy Fire will deter some bad boys and girls.
With a great many moments of 'how do I walk in these shoes' in his head, Shoto finds his footing as they walk to said club. No less effort to try not to make it an odd scene looking over the bouncer to wonder which one of the three of them was going to come out on top if they weren't going to get let in.]
Take my hand.
[He offers his hand to Megumi, this may make it a little more couple convincing considering the other people he's seen along the way.]
[ Somehow, he was expecting to have to engage in some sort of physical intimacy given the premise of their farce. Yet, even with the preparation, it still feels awkward when it's with a stranger. Still, he's had more ... practice in that aspect, since coming here, so it isn't as hard as it used to be. There's a sigh. ]
Fine. [ He joins hands with Shoto, approaching the door. Megumi's never been on anything he considers a date, so he doesn't actually know how he's supposed to be acting, but it's usually more suspicious to overact than to just be himself. He keeps that stoic, bored expression on his face, hardly looking like a boy excited to be attending a nightclub party with their hot date. ]
We're here for the party. Let us in. [ The bouncer starts to appraise them both, not entirely convinced by their attitudes. ]
['Fine' isn't exactly a word someone uses and the other person feels comfortable... Unless that other person is like Shoto who is used to people being surly like this. There's a job to do and they both know it and they'll play their parts.
Bored, emotionless faces are something they both share in common and is likely the reason they're being parsed out about this by the bouncer. Shoto, however, is keenly aware of how things like this work now. He's done a lot of learning thanks to his brother and the places he went, too. With a tilt of his head, it's Shoto's turn to scrutinize the bouncer.]
We're being doubted.
[He says it out loud, but he says it more in a way that sounds annoyed. Truthfully it is, he thought people held hands on dates. He thought this is the minimum dates required at least.]
If you doubt willingness to act, it isn't yours to watch. We're here for the party, not your entertainment.
[Shoto's free hand flips some of his hair behind his shall to keep it out of the way, he knows how gravity works. Megumi isn't too much Shorter but he is. Being as they're in Shoto's home turf, he knows how this is going to go. That leaves him one choice and something he'll apologize for when he has the chance. With a little sigh, Shoto's hand leaves Megumi's and instead takes him at the opposite hip. Practiced movements find the taller man's hand resting against the other's cheek and all in one fluid movement there's a turn to draw Shoto's companion in. The hand on Megumi's hip is to help steady him in the slight pull up that the taller man leans down for.
It takes him under a second to turn and briefly, convincingly enough, kiss said companion, but it's done. When he pulls back, there's no time to look apologetic, just look over his shoulder at the bouncer.]
Sufficient? That's all the show from out here.
[Shoto's hands leave their posts, crossing over his chest. It seems to have been a good enough show and Shoto offers his hand again when the rope to the open door is moved aside.]
[ There was definitely a part of Megumi that was considering simply knocking this bouncer out and stepping in anyway, but Shoto's more familiar with the district and how things worked in it. It seemed like he had a plan to smooth things over without the need for any violence. If Megumi did take this bouncer out, there's a chance they might alert the other members of security in the ensuing scuffle.
What he didn't expect was for Shoto plan to convince the bouncers to be anything like this. Caught in a momentary shock when he's drawn in, Megumi has to fight his first instinct to push the other boy away. It isn't anything personal; he's just always been very prickly about his personal space (very much like a cat that doesn't want to be petted or touched). He understands the assignment, however, and for that reason he steels himself into a calm, relaxing into Shoto's hands and closing his eyes to allow the press of their lips.
A bead of sweat rolls down his cheek, and his face colours in pink. He keeps his eyes averted from that bouncer. It's a convincing response, at least. There's a sigh. ]
Did we really have to go that far ... [ He knows the answer is 'probably', given that the endeavor worked. He's just very unused to this. ]
[The response is enough to convince anyone that they weren't there to do things outside, let alone there to do things. Shoto wouldn't have if it wouldn't have been the easiest way. No matter, they're in once Shoto presses a gentle guidance of his hand to the back of Megumi's shoulder. It's less intrusive than he had been moments ago and it's not his favourite thing to do out of nowhere, but it did work.]
Yes.
[He answers quietly once they're out of ear shot and no one will understand the context of which he's speaking if they overhear. It's a simple answer and Megumi probably already knew it.]
The simplest way is the easy way. It worked. I won't do it again.
[Looking around at the ornate building and its red and gold trims, proper oak bars and immaculate setup, Shoto is sure at least they're going to find something information wise. Now it's a matter of utilizing whatever skills they both might have to find it and if movies have taught him anything they have not, the bar is a good place to start.]
Are you thirsty?

[ Though it feels like he has to settle himself a little from the shock and embarrassment of the sudden kiss, Megumi does acknowledge the effectiveness of the effort. The bouncer is placated and lets them in without question. If not for the act, they would probably have to find some other way to be let in, and he doesn't like to use his shadows without an understanding of the building layout.
Shoto, at least, is all business and matter-of-fact. There's no teasing or harassment that comes after the act. A means to an end, and perhaps he can see the value of that. Megumi lets out an exhale, letting the tension out of his body, and tries to regain his focus. ]
Fine. I see how that helped. [ They can move on. It isn't like a kiss is a very big deal if there's nothing attached to it.
While he isn't particularly thirsty, he catches onto Shoto's meaning quickly. The bar would probably be the place to go to find loosened lips. ]
The bar, right? Let's go.
[ True enough, there are all sorts of different characters at the bar - all in various states of intoxication. ]
Stardust can bring about a state of euphoria. If you see anyone in an elevated state of mind, that's probably a starting point.
