Did I say I wasn't gonna give it to ya? I made a deal.

[ he picks himself up, shrugging his shirt back on properly since it's half falling off on one side and starts to make his way towards the "kitchen". he quits trying with his accent because there's really no point. ]

You people can't hurt me in any way that wouldn't hurt ya more. I don't rush for anybody.

[ he has a manic, somewhat unhinged look about him this morning because as the threats sink in on top of what else he's dealing with, he feels increasingly detached from it. it's not that nishitani isn't perfectly terrifying because under normal circumstances, ryouma might be trying his best to smooth this over. he has plenty of good reasons to want to do that but after toraguma gave him a vivid preview of what his death will look like, he struggles to care about something like this in a meaningful way. it's fine. ]

Sorry t' spoil your whole schtick here.

Well, Ryouma-chan. Then you better start fucking rushing! [ The challenge in Ryouma's voice, you people can't hurt me-- oh, Nishitani's going to make Ryouma fucking regret the day he showed his fucking face here in hell. Nishitani steps into the living room, the excuse of one, and swings at the window. The glass shatters easily, spraying down onto the couch, the floor, everything. Nishitani steps over to the next one. ]

[ He'd been feeling forgiving before. He doesn't feel that now. This window gets done in too. ]

[ it would be a lie to say that he's totally immune to this. the place is only so big, and now there's glass everywhere. he's going to have explaining to do and no small amount of trouble to deal with. ryouma closes his eyes and suffers the sound of the glass shattering.

he pulls an envelope out of one of the drawers. ]

Well, anyone can swing a bat, you know?

Anyone can swing a bat, huh? [ Nishitani's in the kitchen now, his pristine, polished shoes crunching on the glass, bringing shards as he walks about the place. Well, if Ryouma was going to be a little bitch about all this, then... ] Shame you're making this such an issue. Going to have to tack on some interest to your loan-- Unless you can pay it all today. I'm feeling gracious.

[ ... of course. even if he gives nishitani what he has, nishitani is still going to antagonise him because he didn't play along. or maybe that was always the plan because ryouma is sure no one expected him to have the whole thing today. ]

This is your money, so take it or leave it. Nothing I do or say is gonna satisfy ya and you're trying t' get a rise outta me and it's not gonna happen, but ya think you're gonna prove somethin' makin' a show of it anyway, right?

This could've been all nice. I came here with good will in my heart, but Ryouma-chan... keep that attitude with us, and we're going to be eating you alive. [ Nishitani flips open the envelope, counts out the money. ]

And you're at least 50k short!

Uh-huh. Figured you'd say somethin' like that. Never gave me a number to begin with, meanin' it was always gonna be short.

[ so now he waits. bracing himself? whatever it takes to get it over with. ]

I agreed to what I'm s'posed t' pay ya, not to play games.

[ Nishitani looks up at Ryouma from the money, his face a neutral disdain, before he snaps out and grabs Ryouma by the throat, pinning him back. He squeezes, just a little. ] Lesson number one, kid. Stop fucking giving lip. You're just making everything worse for yourself, and everyone you love.

Yeah? Y' know ya keep callin' me "kid" like I haven't been around a few times. Think you're the first person t' ever gimme that piece of advice?

[ he grits his teeth, straining the words out because even like this he's a difficult man to silence. ]

I'm fine and ya ain't gonna touch who I love. I don't really like begrudgin' a guy for doin' his job, so I'd like t' think you're smarter'n that...

[ if anyone tried to drag izō into this directly, ryouma feels like they probably deserve whatever they get. ]

Next month I want 10k. All you've got here is barely a quarter of that. Figure it out, and make sure it's ready for me. Got it? [ Nishitani isn't winning this fight, but he marks down Ryouma's petulance for later. He'll send some kids over in the middle of the night to mark up Ryouma's apartment and shatter his landlord's windows. That'll keep the idiot busy for a while. ]

[ considering how short of that amount ryouma was this time, it's not a good number for him. he's nothing if not determined!! ]

Fine. I said I wasn't objectin' t' payin'.

Oh, and clean up the place, would you? It's a fucking sty. [ Taking his money, folding it into the inside pocket of his suit, Nishitani leaves as quickly as he came, crunching over glass as he goes. Have fun, Ryouma. ]
