[ Why the cageyness? That does NOT go unnoticed, and it only makes him more curious now. What rumour is his friend spreading about him? But Megumi doesn't press on. He can interrogate Yuuji about this later. There's a sigh. ]

Too noisy, and one of my good shirts got ruined. [ He also went through a small self-acceptance arc at the beach for some reason but he will not get into that. ]

I don't really see the appeal.

(He's just sussing out some information and...

... he looks up from over his cup. Hm. Yes, he understands and this kind of makes him think that maybe Yuuji's plans didn't go exactly like he'd wanted to after they parted ways.)

The beach is fine. (Setting his cup down,) The people are the problem.

[ Unlike the slander that Hizen had heard, Megumi is a good boy. However, if Yuuji HAD pestered him to drink alcohol, he might have obliged, so perhaps he isn't a good boy after all.

Megumi is started to notice that they aren't very different in personality.

Though he didn't expect this random offer for a shirt. ]

You ... don't want them? [ Why not?? Is he getting hand-me-downs? That rarely happens.]

(They are indeed very similar. Even Hizen is realizing this.)

Got a bunch of free shit recently. (From organizing the clothes stuff.) Haven't checked it all out yet but I don't need all of it.

(Like, please look at Hizen. He is just a sword boy in one of those short-sleeved hoodies and a pair of faded jeans. Does he look like he cares about fashion?)

Been trying to get rid of most of it.

[ Clothes being given away for free? Somehow, this situation is familiar. ]

Was this because of what Gohan-san from the network did?

(Stares off into the distance,)

Sounds like you know him? [ Actually, Gohan was very abrasive as well. Megumi is starting to suspect some things. ]

(DRINKS HIS TEA AND WISHES IT WAS ALCOHOL)

This ain't about that. Look, if you don't want shit I'll give it to someone else.

[ Okay, this might actually be Gohan. The speech pattern is similar. Well, Hizen probably doesn't want that acknowledged, so it's less troublesome if they let that topic die.

Anyway, Megumi doesn't have a lot of money. He wouldn't normally ask for free things, but more clothing is nice to have when you're strapped for cash. ]

No, I'll ... take it if it's not too much trouble for you.

(He's very obvious.)

I wouldn't offer if it was a pain.

(But good, fine. He'll settle down some and set his cup back down,)

I'll send some stuff. If ya don't like something, you can give it to Itadori or Cain.

Thanks for that, Hizen-san. [ He's curious to know if it will fit, given that Hizen is shorter, but he has a feeling asking that is going to make the conversation annoying for them both. Moving on, then. ]

I've been wanting to speak to you, actually.

(Silly Megumi, everything is one size/free size in Japan so of course things will fit.

But ah, what's this? He wasn't expecting this at all and he raises a brow, glancing over at him,)

Yeah...?

[ Megumi leans forward, the shadow he's casting beneath him beginning to morph in shape, taking form and liquifying. The hilt of a sword emerges from that shadow and he grabs it, pulling it out. He rests it in his palms, careful and respectful in the way he holds it. ]

You helped Yuuji pick this out, didn't you?

[harimaya]

(What the actual fuck, Megumi. Hizen has no idea what he's looking at and that makes him instantly suspicious. He moves to get up, putting one leg in the chair as if he's ready to jump and has one hand on his sword (which he always keeps with him).

He freezes when he realizes what it is, though. He recognizes that swords right away and while he doesn't relax, he doesn't bolt either.)

...

(Ah, so this is the friend? An important one, from what had gathered. Important enough to drop a whole lot of money on and go through a lot of trouble for. He also has a personal interest in this sword too which makes him need to... re-assess Megumi not as a stranger, not as a friend of Yuuji's, but as a swordsman too. He squints,)

... I did.

[ In hindsight, he probably should have given a warning. This just tends to happen when you're not the sort of person to talk very much. Hizen settles pretty quickly, at least, once it's clear that Megumi is no threat. No one holding a sheathed sword on their lap within their palms intends to draw it. ]

I'm no expert on swords, but ... it's well-made. The weight is heavy enough for a powerful swing, but doesn't weigh me down. It's quite sharp, too.

[ Only genuine compliments here. ] You have a good eye.

(Slowly, he relaxes.

He's still distrustful. You never know when someone can change their minds and Megumi has... some sort of power. He's certain he pulled it from his shadow. Some sort of magic technique, definitely, but not one he's immediately familiar with.

Usually, he would reject praise and gratitude. He doesn't seek either and therefore, he has no real need for it. Often, he's found words to be empty-- polite things with little meaning. At least, that's what he thinks. But this is different, isn't it? They're real and come from a knowledgeable place. Megumi may not be an expert on swords but he speaks as a swordsman which is always interesting to a sword,)

... If it was poor, you'd just replace it. (He speaks carefully, seriously, like he's trying to not reveal too much with his words,) It's something worth keeping and taking care of.

[ It's only natural to replace a poorly made weapon, given that that can make a difference between living and dying, but somehow he can sense more weight behind Hizen's words when he says that. It's peculiar. ]

Of course. Yuuji worked hard to get it for me. [ For that reason it is very important to him and he's cherished it so far. Even without the sentimental value, it's still a sturdy and well-made sword. ]

Though ... I wish he gave it a less cutesy name. [ There's a flat look at that. ]

[harimaya]

(Yuuji had mentioned something like that; that his friend would take care of it if it was a gift from a friend. It looks like he has a pretty good judge of character... or at least knows his friend.)

A what?

(WHAT DID HE NAME IT.....)

'Koka' ... [ He holds up that black blade of his, a sharp and majestic-looking weapon clearly unsuited for the simple and childish name it's been given. ]

It doesn't matter to me so much, but ... he could've picked something more fitting.

[ A.K.A COOLER OR MORE MENACING. Megumi's a teenaged boy after all (sometimes), and if his weapon has to have a name, he would prefer it to not be a cute one. ]

(Without knowing what characters are being used, he really just has to guess what this might mean.)

... Like the drink?

(Coca cola. He means coca cola. Or Koka Kola. Or whatever the off-brand name is in hell. Or maybe he means hot cocoa. Food will always be his first thought.)

It's possible ... [ There's a glance down at the black sword. Yup, given the colour, this is very possible.

Anyway, moving on to what's important. ] You know a lot about swords, don't you? What were you doing before?

Can't judge. I know a guy named Shokudaikiri. (Literally... Candlestick Cutter. ) Another guy named Higekiri.

Both of which are pretty weird names for people. In fact, Hizen's name is also rather strange! It isn't even a name for a person but rather, an old name for Saga prefecture.

As for the question itself, Hizen doesn't answer right away. )

Guess enough people already know.

(And he shrugs. He brings his sword up to rest against his front, leanin gon his shoulder,)

Hizen Tadahiro. I used to be a well-known sword but because of my previous master, I'm known as a killer's sword. (He speaks flatly, like he's talking about something totally ordinary like the weather,) Now I do contract work. Or did before I came here.

(If Megumi has any ability to sense spirits or strange energy, he might also notice that there's something special about his sword. It gives off an aura of something possessed and that aura exactly matches Hizen.)

[ 'Bread cutter' and 'Candlestick cutter' are no normal names by far (those poor guys), but what's more interesting is the fact that this is what Hizen comes to mind after Megumi had told him the name of his sword. The name of a sword and the name of a person are two very different things. It all comes together soon enough -- Or, rather, Hizen goes out and tells him he is a sword. Megumi has been able to feel a faint aura from him from the moment they met, and he can feel that similar aura coming off that sword strapped to his hip. ]

A sword spirit? I could sense something before ... [ He didn't expect a sword spirit to be in a hoodie or climbing into his balcony but that seems par for the course for Hell. Megumi's curious about this master now, and wonders if he can read about him in a book. ]

Have you always had this human-like form?
