[CLOSED] We'll make a marksman out of you yet!
Who ⬤ Hu Tao and Billy
What ⬤ Learning The Way of The Gun
When ⬤ Afternoon around 3-ish. So coffee time
Where ⬤ Shooting Range
Content Warnings ⬤ Gun
[So this was a bit of a surprise that Billy hadn’t been expecting. But that also seemed to be the overall name of the game for this place thus far. Him, teaching someone how to shoot. What has this world come to? There was actually a bit of excitement at the prospect welling up in him. Teaching another person something… there’s a certain draw to it.
Well, Billy supposed he shouldn’t beat around the bush. Given how much the girl in question seemed to enjoy the overall idea of picking it up. He currently had a selection of rifles and other firearms laid out on the table. Including ammunition and a cleaning kit. He’d checked and double checked, and quadruple checked to make sure everything was set.
Did he forget something? Were they going to need something else? No, they shouldn’t. The targets were set, and he’d picked out weapons he’d figured would be well suited for her first time handling a gun.
All he had to do was to sit here and wait-
Calm. As. A. Cucumber.]

Alright, so different rifles are gonna have different ways to load the ammunition into 'em. The one you got there uses the loading gate on the side, that's the slot you see right there; an' can hold up to 15 rounds. It uses a lever system to eject used bullet casings and feed a new round into the chamber.
[He goes ahead and demonstrates with his own, taking his time load them all in.] Once you load all the bullets inside you cock the lever to load a fresh round inside the chamber. Ya don't have to completely load it if you don't want to.

Shifting her weight, she was trying to figure out how to copy what he was doing as she tried to unload her rifle.]
I see, it certainly is interesting how you always have to be aware of how many you have. I can't imagine what it must be like to have none in the heat of the moment!
[She said before struggling to unload said rifle. Such is the tragedy of living in a time period where these things does not exist yet.]

[He watches her as she places the ammunition inside the firearm. Still easy going in his whole demeanor.] Reloading can be a pain in the heat of things, and it's naturally to drop things during it or fumble it.
[There was a bit of a thoughtfulness added into his voice. It's something that's more than marginally terrifying, was the thought that entered his head. These things are loud, powerful, and outright dangerous in ways many other weapons are not. Briefly his vision flashes to take him somewhere else. But Billy snaps himself out of that reverie quickly enough.]
Alright, so when you're ready do your best to keep your breathing nice and even. Slow and steady, slowly inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Relax your jaw, your body and let your anxieties kinda melt away to the point where you can feel how your body moves an' be a bit more aware of what's around ya.
[He keeps his own, loaded gun in hand and pointed down range. Billy wouldn't fire, not quite yet. He wants to make sure she was relaxed and ready.]
When you're ready you want to squeeze the trigger after exhaling. Don't pull it. Just squeeze it enough to feel that resistance. Let shot kind of surprise you, try not to anticipate it too much otherwise that anxiety might build back up.
And... take your time with it.

She might have a feeling of what he might say, she was aware of what it was like to be in the heat of the moment during battle. One wrong move and everything will go badly. She didn’t want to bring up any unpleasant memories.
Instead, once she finished loading her gun, she placed the rifle back on her shoulders once more. Listening to his words, she had to keep her aim slow and steady.]
In other words, I just need to stay relaxed but focused right? I think I could manage that.
[Or at least, she hoped so. This was different from the weapons back home. Narrowing her eyes at the range, she took in a deep breath before squeezing said trigger. It wasn’t enough to shoot but just enough where it might should she move any further.]
That wasn’t too bad, I think I got the hang of it! [And here, she sounds so proud!]

[Stay calm, keep your wits about you and such. Something he'd always taken as being natural given it was something he'd also spent most of his life going through. Always watch what was going on around you, keep your mind clear, so on and so forth.]
Haha! I think ya do. It's not that hard, is it. Use it enough and get a good feel for them, an' it'll feel like it's part of ya.
[Slowly he started to eject the bullets from his own firearm before laying it on the table once he was certain it was empty.]
Alright, why not try and hit a few of the paper and clay targets out there?

Being aware of the backlash she could get, she placed herself into a fight stance before pulling said trigger. The moment she could feel the force attempting to pull her back but she didn't.
As she saw the bullets hit said paper and clay targets? She couldn't help but give a giggle or two.]
Did you see that? I can't believe it, I actually manage to hit them with the bullets! How amazing!
[Nevermind that it was only one or two that actually hit the targets but good enough!] I can't wait to try it again!
no subject
There was a laugh being drawn from him to go along with her giggles.]
Haha! Yeah, I did! Looks like you're a natural-born desperada~!
[His smile only grows and becomes warmer at her excitement.]
Ain't so bad once you get started, is it?

[She said before taking a closer look at her targets. Again, it wasn't quite what she wanted but it was better than nothing! In fact, she couldn't help but to give off a pride smile!]
This certainly does remind me of when I first started using my polearm. The thrill and excitement of knowing that I did something successful amazes me sometimes.
[That said, she looked at any other targets before looking back at Billy.] I have to admit, as easy as it looks, it certainly must have taken you quite some time to master it.

Pickin' up something new is always a thrilling and wonderful feeling. Learning something different can be beyond fun. Even more when you succeed at it.
[He gives her targets a look over again himself. Yep, not bad at all! She'd be more than a capable marksman if Hu Tao decided to keep it up.]
Yeah, it took quite a bit of time, dedication, experience, and practice. That's usually true for most things out there. Keep on practicin' and I'm sure you can get better than me.
no subject
[She said before attempting to place said rifle over her shoulder and attempting to shoot the targets once more.]
In fact, I might take over your title of the best shooter out of the entire area! How can you handle that?
no subject
[Heh~, he's super amused now. Hu Tao, you way too cute girl!]
no subject
[That said, she took a deep breath in before pulling the trigger. While this time, she did take a step back from the force, she still managed to hit the target!]
no subject
[He laughs, watching her continue to practice.]
Now, like I said, hold it a bit tighter and firmer against your shoulder. Otherwise, it can fly outta your hands. Other than that, go on and keep practicin' till ya bag 'em all. By the end of it your shoulder'll be hurtin' somethin' fierce. But that's normal.
