[Have a scowl right back. But, her hand never strayed near to the sword that was strapped to her back. She thought about egging him on further but decided against going too far with it. Puppies, you see.] Hey, you said it, not me.

Well, you're not going to hear me making fun of you taking care of a few strays. Just be a little careful if you ever see a cat with two tails. They can be nasty bastards, and I'd like a rematch sometime.

[She got down on a knee and held a hand out to let one of the strays sniff it.]

The hell you been? I totally expected to run into you in the sewers or something.

[Because it didn't matter if she wanted petty vengeance. She was a chatterbox apparently.]

[ He huffs. The nearest stray, a little black puppy, is unafraid of Tenshi and immediately nips her hand playfully. ]

Heh. Bakaneko are a thing, just saying. [But she shrugged, not really pressing at that. When the puppy came over to nip, she gripped and let it sniff, bite and then scratched at its ears.]

Wanted a rematch, why the hell do you think I'd care? Don't mind waiting, especially for puppies, but didn't want you just finishing your contract before I kick your mangy butt. I'd assume you have to be used to that kinda thing.

[ His cold, confident words are a jarring contrast to the way he plays with a slightly older dog, rubbing its belly as it playfully snaps at his fingers. ]

Yeah. yeah. You know I bet you here this a lot, but you didn't see me at my best.

[There was a momentary pause as she was scratching the dog behind the ears and grinning down at it, clearly more than a little soothed even if she had all sorts of plans in the back of her mind.]

Bet you're not back to full power either with that attitude. Almost makes me want to wait and make sure you see me at my best. Much more fun, Manslayer. Wouldn't you agree?

[ Another dog comes up to Tenshi, a small, shy brown thing, and sniffs at her feet. Izō smiles briefly. ]

...Yer lucky. He barely comes up t' me.

Yeah, yeah... [She was grinning as the little brown one came over, letting them sniff her hand to their content and then scratching at its ears while she let out a small and almost mournful sigh.]

I just love having responsibilities and having to think of consequences like that. But yeah, we could always hit that Arena you guys run. When there's time. Bet they'll all put their money on you, the rubes. You guys do have a reputation after all.

[Of course, to her, Hitokiri was a reputation that she knew all too well. It was the kind of name you didn't take unless you'd earned it.]

Well it also involves less of us having to sneak around the Enma, which is a bonus. I'd rather not be on their radar. [She snorted as she said it. She wasn't friends with many other than Julieta, so ... yeah, better safe there.]

Not that this is important, but how good ARE the medics at the arena?

Good to know. Just means I don't have to hold back in fights there. I know someone else I have a rematch I want with, so. Definitely good to know.
