[ He texts first that he would like to see them, and then makes his way over to the Tamamo housing to knock on their door. He looks a little weary, but otherwise recovered enough. He takes off his shoes at the door politely and comes inside. ]

Em told me ya rescued me. Wanted to... come say thanks.

[starshepard]

[ She shakes her head in response to the thanks. ]

You don't need to thank me. I was just doing what I would have done back home, track down the lost and see them to safety.

[ Once he's inside Azem turns to her little kitchen that clearly doesn't see much use. ]

Would you like something?

Don't wanna put ya out or nothin'.

[ A deeply Japanese thing to say, but what can you do. ]

But without ya I'd probably still be down in th'river now, ya know.

You sure? I can make tea, I'm good for at least that much. [ She laughs. She's terrible with this strange kitchen but she figured out the electric kettle easily enough. ]

I suppose that's true. [ She goes quiet for a moment, silently lamenting the fact that she could have found him sooner if this place hadn't taken all of her abilities from her. ]

Anyroad, that's all over now.

[ A little laughter in kind. ]

Sure, tea's great.

[ He meanders curiously, just looking at the space. ]

Ya seem all right, but did ya too much trouble on your end?

Green or black? [ Not macha though, she still hasn't figured out how to properly prepare that.

There's not a great deal of personalization to the single room apartment. Azem has some basic furniture and a few interesting rocks and knickknacks she's found here and there and a few plants. Everything else is haphazardly shoved into the closet.

There isn't even a TV. ]

Naw, everything was about as great as it could be. Spent most of my time very, very soggy. [ She lies, though it'd be impossible to tell without looking at her face or knowing her tells. ]

[ He supposes he's not surprised by the state of the place. He wonders if they've ever had to live in such a drab little box before though. He has. ]

That makes ya tougher than a lot of us... Glad it wasn't too bad on ya.

Very well. Do you take anything in it? [ She's already started up the kettle. While that's going she pulls out a couple of mugs and the tea. ]

Perhaps I'm just lucky?

Nah.

[ Plain is fine, he peers out her window just to see what the view down into the street is here. Then he ambles back and finds somewhere to sit. ]

Does come in handy sometimes. In, uh, Hakagemachi... I got t'know th'Farm Goddess. Bring her some sake or somethin' an' she'd give ya a good luck talisman. Saved my life a couple times.

Okay!

[ There's not a lot to see out of the window. There's enough space between her building and the neighboring one to hang some laundry out to dry and little else. ]

Interesting. You know, we didn't have gods backs home.

[ The kettle clicks and Azem is quick to prepare their cups and bring them over to the little table Majima has found his seat at. It still needs a moment to steep, though. ]

I wonder if I could create something like that. Not that I'm a goddess or anything, [ she laughs, ] but creation magic can do quite a few things.

Didn't think we had gods in Japan either, but we had stories 'bout all... this.

[ He is so far past disbelieving any of it though. That was always a hard sell when his actual soul was on the line with Chijoku. ]

Well, ya'd make good money if ya could. Everybody needs some extra luck around here.

[ Azem hums in response. ]

Long ago we had similar stories before we discovered the truths of our star. I suppose there may be some that still believe the old stories.

[ To think that other worlds didn't know for sure one way or another the truth of their worlds still fascinates her. ]

Perhaps it's something I can learn here. She chuckles. After all, this world has its own magicks.

They seem a lot less 'god'-like when they're sittin' right next to ya havin' a conversation anyway.

[ A shrug. It's definitely been... strange to have to adjust his worldview so dramatically, but he is ultimately aware that he can't do anything to change it back. He possibly also doesn't want to. Life is a lot better for him away from Japan. ]

So can ya just pick up whatever magic?

[ He doesn't get how it works, at all. He has his own power but he doesn't know how far that extends, what else he could learn. He really assumes he's way too stupid. ]

I suppose that would be true.

[ She can't really say for certain since she has yet to meet anyone claiming to be a god. Though she's sure she'd still find the entire thing kind of silly. Interesting, but silly. ]

I don't see why not. [ That is a good question though. Can she just pick up any magic? She's tried her hand at other types of magics back home but stuck with white magic because she needed access to healing while out in the wilds. ] Magic is just about learning the hows and whys something works the way it does and then putting that into practice. So I'm sure I could if I can find a teacher.

Th'only reason I can do shit is cuz of Joku.

[ She says it with such confidence: that one can just learn how it works, and it's that easy. Maybe if you're from a world where magic is an expected part of every day life. So he just snorts, ]

[ She probably knows what she's doing, right? ]

Whose to say you can't learn some of the magic here? [ It makes sense to her if he's capable of doing what he can because of Joku that he should be able to learn other magicks. ]
