[ club rosolio: one of the nicer clubs in non-tamamo territory. robin's mission? to infiltrate, explore, and research what they do. it's not that he's looking to sabotage their daily operations, but figure out if there are ways to make the bar that he works in much more appealing to those who are looking for a drink and some entertainment.
but he doesn't expect to catch emily toward the end of her set, watching and listening in awe, waiting to catch her as soon as she is off the stage. ]
That was amazing! [ her solo performance... she's certainly earned herself a new fan. ] I didn't know you could do that, what's your secret?
[ not that there has to be one. robin's just playing around. ]
[seeing Robin, she gives a modest bow of her head, her smile gentle and utterly unlike the confidence that Ritsu was teaching her to utilize on stage. he's not who she expected to drop in, but any audience is a good audience, and she's happy for it.]
My secret? Goodness, most of the credit falls on the band and all the other staff for their hard work. With their efforts, I look capable enough.
It's not the looks I'm talking about! I mean, you're very pretty... but...
[ and if robin was only attracted to those, then that'd make him a pretty shallow boy. instead? he claps his hands together lightly, fingertips gently brushing together. ]
... it's your voice. Your song. It's been a long time since I've heard another person like that.
[ even though his vampires can't lie in their music, he's pretty sure that no one in general can. "fake it 'till you make it" can only get you so far and someone like him who has a very good ear... ]
So of course I'm enjoying it! Especially 'cause you're a doctor, too!
...Oh. In that case, thank you for your kind words.
[the color that creeps into her cheeks is slight, but it's there, even as she smiles again. she could protest that this is her side job, but the words feel like a true compliment, and so she swallows that.]
You speak with the confidence of an expert - I'm flattered that I could win your approval.
Oh yes. I actually have a partner I sing with some nights - you'll see us on the list as La Force, and he's far more versed in this sort of thing than I am. Really, you should come back some time and see him in action, for he's who I'm taking most of my cues from.
[Ritsu's younger than her, but in terms of experience, she feels like a novice next to him - it's a privilege to gain from his insight.]
I can only imagine it's even more exciting in a whole group!
[ it's probably good for robin to meet other performers, especially one that is probably as close to a vampire as one can get without actually being one... or is he?! either way. ]
Doctor... do you mind if I ask you a potentially personal question?
[ he blinks innocently, coming to close to batting his eyelashes for further emphasis. ]
[ because it doesn't feel like a question that shouldn't be asked? but unfortunately, robin's made a few connections in his brain and the curiosity has been piqued. ]
... so I'm sorry if it is, but! [ a pause, then: ] Do you know a man with black feathery wings with a very... um... rude disposition...
Yes, I've known them both for quite a while, from where we were before being brought here. I know, he has a certain demeanor, but believe me when I say he's not always like that.
You'd be surprised. Sometimes, when people are sick or in pain, they act out - I don't hold it against them, though. It's not their rational minds acting.
I don't think he is. He just has a prickly nature, but I've learned to discern his real meaning behind his words. Still, I thank you for your confidence in me.
[kind of hard to say that she knows she can instantly unbalance him by touching his arm.]
[ which is fine. there are plenty of people that can't be direct with what they say. whether it's because they don't want to face their own emotions, or because they feel like they need to keep away from others... ]

[ because he's successful? has social media presence back home, too! seeing her smile, even that tiny one, makes robin smile too. ]
I think... it's fun to do solo acts, but there's something about having a partner or two or three that makes it really special. Don't you agree?

[and then, her best pass at Izo's general scowl when he's irritated.]
Yes. He's a close friend.

Really? Both of them are your friend?

I hope he doesn't act like that to you, because you seem really nice and why would anyone want to be rude to a doctor?

Well... if he's in pain, then I hope you can help him!
