ABOVE GROUND

(The best way to stop people from getting in is to watch the entrance. He doesn't expect anyone to just waltz in through the obvious entrances and there are plenty of people keeping an eye out there. Instead, Hizen opts to watch a smaller, less obvious entrance that people can use to sneak in past whatever guards might be on duty.

He keeps his distance, preferring to watch from the shadows of an alley and enjoys how slow the job is for the time being… by enjoying a rice ball. It might be a job but he's still entitled to his snack breaks. Not even the government back home can take that away from him.

When he catches someone poking around, he finishes the last of his onigiri and begins to make his way towards his new target, )

It's closed.

(Some oni have thrown some boxes or something in front of to make it more difficult to get through but it's not impossible.)

Try somewhere else.

UNDERGROUND

(When it comes to closed, dark spaces, Hizen has always had an advantage. After all, wakizashi are convenient for assassinations and all wakizashi spirits seem to inherit a natural talent for sneaking around in dangerous places. Being the sword of an assassin only makes it easier for him.

He knows how to walk quietly, making sure he makes as little sound as possible in the tunnels. Let the sound of water below and the streets above drown out most of his sounds so he can sneak around. He keeps to the shadows and knows where to hide or how far back to stay to keep out of sight. There are no special abilities or powers at play here— it's all skill so anyone with a special talent or sharp senses will be able to sense him eventually but he's good at lying low in wait, stalking potential prey.

His eyes adjust to the darkness and he can make out who his allies and enemies easily. When he sees a fellow Shuten member, he makes a point to take a heavier step so he's heard but stays out of sight a moment longer before revealing himself. He's been shot once this month and he's not in the mood to get hurt again because of friendly fire fo all things,)

It's a dead end.

(The direction they're heading in right now.)

(If he sees someone who isn't a Shuten, he sticks to the shadows and just... keeps watching! Eventually, he might yawn and warn though,)

Keep going and you'll be in trouble.

UNDERGROUND: TAMAMO BULLYING EDITION

(You are a Tamamo and you have managed to make it underground. Somewhere along the way, you've called Hizen out for stalking you or just ran into him. Either way, with alliances established and so on, he doesn't look impressed when he realizes he's stumbled onto a Tamamo.

He tugs at the scarf over his face and let's out a short laugh,)

You guys really came? Thought you'd be worried about breaking a nail or something.

He's quiet as he considers that. Think of it as training, though?)

[A soft chuckle, as he glance around. Most of the youkai are just chatting amongst themselves. There's probably the occasional glance at them.]

Humans started wearing these and grow used to them over time. Although, it's interesting to see youkai sharing similiar customs.

[Which comes first, humans wearing formalwear or the youkai...]

(Hasn't he given enough of his time to random causes since being summoned, Norimune...

Others are beginning to watch though and he bristles. He dislikes being watched. It always puts him on edge; makes him defensive and snappy. He shoots some oni a glare and looks away,)

I guess its like some of the touken danshi wearing suits and stuff instead of kimono...

(A lot of them manifested in more western styles despite being very traditional spirits. Norimune, for example, is one.)

[He does notice Hizen's being on edge. Compare to him, Norimune doesn't seem bothered by the looks.]

That's right. The Osafune do love to wear them.

[That family of swords, for some reason or other, picked the western suit as their main look.]

Maybe if one of them is here, you can ask them about it.

[Out of them, Yamanbagiri Chougi is probably the one they're used to.]

(Does he look like an Osafune? You know, all three of the Tosa swords dress rather traditionally. Even Mutsunokami who is always going on about how much better the west and modern society are...)

Not like I really care.... Just wanna get this over with.

(He really hates this and he grumbles,)

I doubt it'll be the last funeral here.

[Whether it's due to conflicts or natural causes. He take a step back to give Hizen a once-over. And remembers something...]

How do you die in hell anyway...

(Ugh. But he does, in fact, stay still, tilting his head to one side curiously because? Why?)

[Norimune quickly pulls out his phone and take Hizen's picture. Sure, he haven't got his full abilities. But it's easy enough to do this while his comrade's off guard.

[Hizen's head tilting adds an extra charm to it.]

(HELLO?! He probably looks surprised in the picture too--)

[Unlike last time, he simply put away his phone. Once it's securely in his pocket, he hold up his now empty hand. No further button pressing at this point!]

Nope! I want to keep this one in particular.

[It's not often he get to see Hizen dressed up so nicely. This is worthy of a photo, forever recorded.]

(AND HE IMMEDIATELY REACHES OUT TO GRAB NORIMUNE,)

I said get rid of it! Ya don't need it!

[He laughs, moving to dodge Hizen's attempts. He absolutely see this coming!]

But I don't always see you like this! Humour this old man and let me keep this one.

[There's still time, so a little, silly fun is fine. And he really wants to keep this photo.]

(Stop, he's all flustered and embarrassed now,)

What d'you even care for?!

(Is this... camaraderie. Disgusting.)

You better not do anything weird with it.

Like I said, I don't often see you dressed like this. I want a nice picture as a souvenir.

[And because he likes Hizen?]

I won't. It'll stay in my phone.

[He probably won't show it to others. Unless certain people asks...]

(And he'll make sure Norimune never sees him again.)

(He backs off but... he doesn't look happy. If looks could kill, he'd be murdering Norimune right now.)

Stop making a big deal out of nothing.

(Like seeing him dressed up. He's already tugging at his tie again. Is he physically uncomfortable or is he just....... awkward and anxious.)

[He just smiles, not bothered by Hizen's murderous look.]

Just humour me this time.

[While he won't treat Hizen like one of his "children"—they're colleagues, it'd be strange—this photo is still a nice memento.]

Other than this, it is good to see you doing well.

[Even if... they still get together for meals sometimes.]

(Just humor me, Norimune says, and Hizen scowls a while longer before... looking away and crossing his arms.)

(Fine. He'll let Norimune win this time. )

(Then he can ditch the suit and get something to eat and take a nap.)

(He nods. Of course he's going to get something to eat after this.)

The food here ain't bad but... (He tries to choose his words carefully here. It's a funeral. He wants to have some tact.) This place is a drag.

[He nods, accepting and understanding Hizen's words.]

"Solemn", Hizen.

[Just a suggestion. In case they find themselves in a funeral again, solemn is better to use.]

If nothing pops up, we can get some snacks. Something nice like... a sweet crepe.

(Glances.)

Whatever.

(Solemn. Fine. He'll remember it.

Norimune is probably more excited for the crepe than Hizen is but he won't turn down the offer to get something nice after,)

Yes. I spotted a crepe place earlier, on my way here. I imagine it would be nice to head there afterwards.
