[ Bishop sat in his appartment, eyes focused on the dry wall as if it were offending him. He flipped a coin in his hand over and over for hours now through out the day while thinking, pondering, what comes next. The assassin had vanished, the technology from the kappa - a pair of which were now in his apartment from his agreement with Kimmuriel - and the heads of the Alliance were now missing. It was bad, and worse still was that the Enma were on a hunt for their prime suspects. The kappa.
He sighed as he checked the clock on the wall in the late afternoon light that slipped between the blinds. The two kappa were relaxing in the other room, the door open and blinds drawn so Bishop can keep an eye on them, but he knows it's only a matter of time before an officer comes knocking on his door demanding the kappa he's harboring.
Were they guilty? These two certainly don't seem it. They're small, wirey, little bastards as far as he was concerned. Not a threat without their precious technology. So why hunt them down? Why gather them? Calling them in or just doing what he did was just as feasable and less messy. Was it just a publicity stunt? Prove that the Enma were incharge and on the case? Well, he can understand the need for the PR.
This whole situation is a mess. And Bishop? Bishop is certain he's about to ruin several people's day. They just needed to knock on that door. ]
[ Julieta knew what she needed to do and she was going to try to make that happen as quickly as possible. One series of knocks on the door was soon followed by another and would continue until the door opened. With construction as cheap as this, property damage was a valid strategy if all else failed. There was no denying he was hiding kappa in there. She just couldn't be sure if her familiarity with him would be enough to convince him to cooperate or if it would just make this worse. ]
[ And there it is. He recognizes the voice at the door. 'Enma, eh?' he thinks to himself as he goes to the door, silently telling the kappa to make themselves scarce, before opening it. ]
Hello, Julieta. [ He says from behind the door, partially opened and the security chain taut before them. ]
I was hoping you could help me find some of these kappa. Have you seen any?
[ Better to get right to the point. Deception isn't really her thing. She peers at the open space trying to see if there's anything behind him. Her eyes narrow at the chain preventing her from going inside. And she even asked so nicely. ]
[ He steps up to block her view as she peers inside. Has she never heard of privacy? ]
Nope. Try the rivers, ponds, fountains. They like water. OH! And cucumber. Tie some cucumber on the end of a string and drag it across town. That might work.
[ He says with a smile, but still denying her entrance. Until there's a sudden noise behind him, the sound of something falling, but Bishop doesn't falter. ]
Really? Well I'm not sure how that's possible when I have a report from a reliable source that they were seen at this address.
[ She is so disappointed in him right now. The sound catches her attention before she can get too annoyed. Something must be in there. Wasting her time is not going to make it better when she inevitably gets inside. ]
[ He smiles pleasantly, eyes warm with a practiced kind of blink and twinkle. ]
Alright.
[ He closes the door, never locking but there's an immediate thud as Bishop baracades it with a chair. Silently and quickly, he goes to the kappa in hiding and signals them to the fire escape while he picks up the katana he got from the club fiasco. ]
[ Hold on did he just shut the door on her? He can't do that! But she can't be stunned for too long. She needs to take care of this. The door won't open even when she gives it a shove. Something's blocking it. As if she's practiced she lands a kick square on that door. She notices some give to the frame. After a few more increasingly aggressive tries she breaks through. She pulls her gun as she pushes debris aside to go after her targets if she can still even see them. ]
[ He did indeed. Baracade too. If had the resources, he'd have booby trapped it too.
The apartment is tiny with only one other room to run to leaving out the watercloset and bathroom, which means the kappa are escaping through the window. It's not exactly high up even for small wirey yokai like them.
He heard the distinct click of a gun being pulled from it's holster and he can only assume the sound of the door being kicked in meant that her back up was heading towards them. 'Thirty Seconds' he thinks to himself. Not nearly enough time for him and the kappa to escape, not nearly enough time to call for back up, but he first option was already something he'd considered and the second was never even an option.
'Thirty seconds' he thinks. Thrity seconds before the party starts.
He hid in the corner of the bedroom, crouching with the katana at his side at the ready. Attention on the door and the quickly setting sunlight. ]
[ Once she managed to force her way in she quickly looked around for places they might hide. Either that or a window. Backup was on its way. After the first time she met him she never expected to see him ready to pull a sword on her but that was what she found. She couldn't be sure how skilled he was so she'd be cautious. Leveling the gun she spoke calmly. ]
Look just hand them over. All we're going to do is question them and then they can go.
[ He says shouting over to her in the other room. ]
If you wanted to talk then hit them with subpoena! If they don't show after that then you arrest them not hunt them down like dogs.
[ He doesn't trust Toraguma, but he trusts the Enma less. Those with authority and positions of legal power are the ones who tend to be the most evil by his experience. ]
You ever even stop to ask 'the question', hmm? Or are you the good little soldier the military beats into us? Never questioning, always following, never a thought in your head as you pull that trigger or bludgeon a man within an inch of his life?
[ He sprinted out from his hiding place, quickly swinging the sheathed sword in his left hand to knock away the gun before driving the end into her gut to incapacitate her. ]
[ She hoped that sound was one of the kappa so she could get this over with. Instead she was greeted with his sword. He could take her gun but that wouldn't stop her. She was already frustrated and him telling her how to to her job set her off. She winced. If she was going down she was grabbing him and taking him with her. ]
[ He rolled as she pulled him down, righting himself up onto a knee with smug look on his face. It was all just an act, a distraction, to draw as much of the heat towards him while the kappa got away. Sadly though, this much rough housing wasn't enough to serve what he wanted. ]
Please, by all means. Call your friends too, make it a party.
[ He raised the sheathed sword, wielding it with a backhand grip, and swung it at her head. He wasn't so out of his mind to kill someone with the police, but he wasn't quite screwed on right to not mess with them. ]
[ She has got to get that thing away from him. Grabbing hold she tries to pin him. Maybe slamming his head down will encourage him to cooperate. He's only about to get hurt more from her backup if he keeps fighting her. As long as he's got that weapon he's more of a threat. She yells at them to go after any kappa still in here too. They can't let them get away. Others move in to assist Julieta. ]
[ Perfect. He could hear them and their boots stomping about. The sudden collision with the floor made him see a few stars along with the flash of pain that ran up and down his nose.
He swore behind grit teeth as the rest of the flatfoots rushed in while she had him pinned, a situation that had to change. He closed the space between them, putting all of his weight to pull his arm free - going as far as to jam his foot on her side for leverage. ]
Julieta! If you could kindly. Let. Me. Go! I need to beat up your coworkers!
[ She winced as his foot dug right into her side. While she would have to let go of his arms, if she could twist his leg hard enough she could flip him over. She drove her knee into his ribs, her grip so tight her nails threatened to break the skin. That was followed up with her elbow once she managed to straddle him. She warned him but now there was no holding back. ]
[ He grunted with pain as she manhandled him, flipping him onto his front as she twisted his leg into a hold then dug her knee into his side. ]
God! Orange! Orange! That's my safe word!
[ He screamed like a loon but refocused his attempts. The sword is still in his hand but it did him no good while he was pinned, and coupled with the fact he doesn't recognize her fighting style only made things harder. But he is a demon of some form even if his shapeshifting powers were gone he still had something, physical strength above any human.
The strength itself was also damped by a great degree, but he has enough strength to lift himself and her up with one hand then jump back into the nearby wall and whatever else maybe there with enough force to knock her off of him before dashing off to attack the other officers raiding his home. ]
[ He was really loud and annoying. If only hitting him harder would shut him up. She had him down for the moment but it wasn't long before he was up again and she crashed into the wall. She grunted at the impact and crumpled to the floor. It seemed she just wasn't having any luck until she found her gun within reach. She grabbed it. Even though he was close to the others she was confident she could make the shot and incapacitate him enough for them to take care of the rest. ]
[ His senses flared as she pointed at him, by his estimation he assumes she's aiming for non-lethal spots. Arms, shoulder, thigh, calf, abdomen, all off them are targets but his arms, shoulder, and legs were key targets to stop his rampage. He obviously won't let that happen.
Fortunately, even when trained, officers were not trained like soldiers - definitely not like black ops operators or special agents - so he easily dominates his opponents using various holds, grapples, strikes, and incapacitating blows from different martial arts. Particularly, he strikes and shoves officers towards Julieta as they attacked him, and if they were large enough, using them as a shield until the next strike. Clearly stalling for the kappa to escape. ]
[ She's impressed that he's making himself such an obstacle to them all on his own. His experience fighting youkai really shows. Her backup isn't much help after all. Fighting him directly isn't working so she goes after the kappa instead, her gun still pointed at him in an effort to keep him away. The moment she finds an opening she fires at him again. ]
[ If there's something he's good at, its being a pain in the ass.
He throws and strikes officer after armed officer but sees Julieta move with her gun raised. He yanked over one yokai, a rather slim one to guard against the coming shot but because of the lack of mass on his shield - the bullet goes through and gets him in his right arm.
He swore as he stumbled back, the other officers taking advantage to pounce. One tackled him to the wall, another struck him across the face to which he retaliated by hitting them with the sword and then driving the pommel to the one pinning him.
He rushed to try and block her, but another officer intercepted him - he quickly took them down with a good strike, but another dove and grabbed his leg. Seconds after he screamed in pain and rage as one on his leg was now biting him. This one is getting particularly beaten up. ]
[ The others can handle that while she corners the kappa. She doesn't envy the one getting kicked. How is this guy still going? If they were on the same side he would really be a strong ally. She'll have to be quick about it so they can get this over with and bring him in. Now they have to bring Bishop in too and it will be that much more paperwork to deal with. Once she manages to restrain the kappa she holds on tight. ]
[ He hears the kappa struggling as Julieta caught one of them. He had no time for this. He struck the one biting him in the ear with his sheathe, discombobulating, then picking him up before delivering a series of punches. Each time his fist connects he pushed him back until he was at the wall, delivering one more punch to send his head through the dry wall. ]
Hands off!
[ He rushed, span, and leapt, delivering what would be an impressive display of martial arts prowess if it weren't aimed at her head. ]
[ That was brutal. The moment he turns his attention to her she runs for the door. She can't fight back with her hands full. All she can do is hope one of them is uninjured enough to intercept him. He can't keep going like this indefinitely. ]
[ There's a smile on his face when it connects, more so when she realizes she's in a bad situation. He's having fun, a predator stalking prey, reveling in the fact these yokai struggle to contain him even without his powers. He truly was a demon hunter, and he embraced the adrenaline fueled revelation.
He walked over to her, towering really, with the intent to end this but he was blindsided when one yokai officer smashed into him with a riot shield. Wind knocked out of him and spread out on the floor, the katana flung to some corner of the room, the other officers rushed to pin him but Bishop still resisted - throwing punch after punch, kick after kick, a smile twisted on his face even as the officers struck blow after blow to him.
Eventually he is stopped, needing six men to restrain him before finally slapping on the cuffs. He's bloody and bruised but a smile still spread on his face. ]
Hahahahahaha! That was fun! We should definitely do this again!
[ With him pinned down she could safely leave with the kappa. She glanced back to make sure he didn't escape. Breathing heavily she clenched her jaw. It was infuriating that he was laughing about this. He had caused her far more trouble than this was worth. She turned on her heel and marched right out the door shouting back at him as she left. ]
[ Things had gone according to plan. If the plan was drawn in crayon and made by a delusional six year old and executed by a man who's self control is on a hairline trigger. So. About as well as one might really expect.
He sat in a cell, alone, hanging off the bars with one hand lethargically sticking out with his head pinned between. ]
And the devil shall have your sooooullllllsss you black heartened heathens! Your crimes shall not go unpunished for the Lord is on my righteous side!
[ Also belting out nonsense that's unbecoming of even the most insane of criminals and miscreants. ]
[Not everything is going to according to "keikaku" here in this thread. At least not according to Dante who looks more than a little baffled once he hears the self-righteous preaching. It's been while since he last seen Bishop and he doesn't quite remember him being this religious. Then again, it's kind of hard to praise God when you're working for the yakuza.]
Man, what the hell is going on here?
[He asks once he finds Bishop's cell. Poor Dante has 'surprise' written all over his face right now.]
Are we aiming for the insanity defense or what, buddy? All that religious crap is making my ass itch.
[ He lazily turns his head, or at least as much as he can with his face still between the bars, and regards Dante. ]
Oh I'm not really a holy man. I'm just annoying them while I'm here. You know? For kicks. And-
[ His eyes go wide as another officer with bandages around his head passed while being assisted by another. ]
You! You bit me, you motherfucker! You bit a bishop, bitch! You're ass is getting double smited! FOR THE LORD IS MY SHEPARD! AND HE'S ARMED WITH A RIGHTEOUS SHOT GUN AND DRAGON'S BREATH YOU INBRED, CROSS-EYED, BUCKTOOTH, WINDOW LICKING, DICKHEADS!
[ Clearly if he was a holy man, he's been kicked out of the order. ]
They took away my metal cup so I have to be louder.
[It takes all of Dante's willpower and then some not to burst out laughing once Bishop starts preaching again. He can't stop himself from grinning like a madman. It's just too difficult for him to keep a straight face as that guard passes by. The expression on the officer's face is telling. The poor guy looks like he wants to deck Bishop right in the chops for screeching at him. It seems that "inbred" comment really struck too close to home for the poor guy.]
H-Holy shit, man. [He manages to choke out in between giggles.] You really sound like one of those evangelist preachers.
[Once he manages to breathe again, Dante peeks over at Bishop and shakes his head.]
I had to follow one of those crazy psychos around for five days while I was Havana. Turned out he was cooking and selling new kinds of ecstasy he called "the Words of God". His preaching was code for what kind he had on him that day. I had to listen to him for hours.
[ Sent that guy straight to hell, that he did. ]
Anyway, I overheard twiddle dee and twiddle numbnuts over yonder about keeping me in here for twenty four hours. Maybe twelve if I behave. Think I'll get it?
[His wry smirk only widens as he starts inspecting the bars. There's nothing particularly fancy about this ugly gray jail cell. Just a slabs of concrete with steel bars for the most part. Nothing too out of the ordinary considering that this prison doesn't even have surveillance cameras. A thoughtful hum escapes Dante as he wraps his hand around one of the bars.]
If you behave? [He shoots Bishop a glance as he tightens his grip on the bars.] We both know that's not happening, right?
[Dante lets out a soft grunt as he slowly starts to crush the steel bars within his barehand. It would've been much easier if he was in his devil form but he's a little underpowered right now. However, Dante can still bend steel relatively easily.]
