[Shit. The Department of Enma is already ordering the detainment of all the kappa tribes? Even the mountain kappa? Well, damn. That's a little harsh, especially since it was the river kappa who was in charge of the Night Parade.]

Not too many kappa would hang out around here. [He states while leaning against a nearby wall with those beefy arms crossed over his chest. Dante might have the diet of a frat boy but he has the body of a Greek deity.] After all, most youkai avoid us Lost Souls like the plague.

[He nervously glances over at the bedroom when Juileta inches closer to it. His little green friend might be in there. Who knows? Either the kappa is somewhere there or maybe Dante is worried about her finding his porn stash.]

Right. Kind of suspicious for there to be one around here.

[ Those arms. He should really put those away. She's here on a job and it's distracting. With nothing found around the couch she heads for the bedroom. Not too many places to look. She's not even sure this is the place. She'll find it one way or another. She has to. ]

Very suspicious.

[He emphasizes with a slight sigh once she decides to take a peek inside his bedroom. This is going to end badly with Fujimoto hiding under the bed as he suspects. Very badly. So just before Juileta could open the door, Dante quickly closes it with a sheepish smile.]

But even so, it's a little rude to go trifling through a man's things.

[Mind you, he says all this while still completely shirtless looking like a bonafide snack. Despite the seriousness of this situation, there's a hint of playfulness in his tone as he asks Juileta the following.]

Are you single? Cause I could think of more interesting things to do than this.

[ The door is shut on her before she can get in. The hand that was reaching for it closes into a fist and falls down to her side. He's being a problem. Being actively prevented from entry makes her more curious about what's in there. This may be what she's looking for. She can't leave until she checks everything. His insinuation gets her cheeks red. What's it going to take to get in there? ]

Come on, I'm still on the clock. I promise I won't ask questions about whatever weird little collection you have in there.

Just because you're on the clock doesn't mean we can't have a little bit of fun.

[So says the man who typically prides himself on keeping things "professional" when dealing with clients. Dante knows he's just talking out of his ass here but he wants to give his new little buddy some time to either hide of escape. That's why he's stalling poor Julieta. Normally, he wouldn't go out of his way to help someone like this but Fujimoto is the chilliest kappa he has ever met.

It's like meeting a real world ninja turtle. The guy even likes pizza!]

Tell you what, I'll let you pass only if you tell me your favorite food and why.

[ Is he serious? She gives him an incredulous look. Though if she can do this without a fight she would prefer that. She might need backup for that. ]

Fine. I like meat because I didn't have access to it until recently. Now let me through before I have to pull my gun and make you.

[Unfortunately, he's serious as a heart attack. A mild one. Maybe like a slight heart palpitation? Whatever the case, Dante is going all "None Shall Pass" until the cute blond chick answers his question.]

Just meat? [That earns an eyebrow raise from him.] No particular dish or anything?

[Yeah, that's pretty...odd. Basic too. However, Dante isn't crude enough to voice it. If anything, he's kind of curious about Julieta now. It almost sounds like the woman grew up poor or just vegan.]

Okay, okay! I'll let you pass but don't mind the pizza boxes--

[Or the kappa currently eating a slice of pizza under the bed. The little critter isn't noticeable at first thanks to its dark coloring. The kappa almost blends into the shadows of the bed seamlessly, unless Julieta decides to kneel down. Fujiwara is a clever little turtle. He'll think of something if the blond decides to start snooping down here.]

[ Finally she can check the room. She walks in relieved that he kept his word. Now she can begin looking around. She considers places she might have hidden when she was once that size. Piles on the floor are nudged with her foot. She's not concerned with making a mess in the first place but when it's already like this she has to wonder if he'd even notice. The bed is the next. She inspects the sheets and pillows as well as underneath. ]

[So Dante is a little bit of a slob but at least those aren't day old pizza boxes. He brought the pizza earlier today for lunch between him and his esteemed guest. However, he really ought to throw out the empty ones. Other than there being pizza boxes everywhere, there are quite a few magazines and books around. Yes, books. Dante likes to read on his free time and while he's not a fledging poet like his brother, he has a strange love for romance novels.]

Hey, hey! Respect the mess, lady. [He teases while trying his best to clean up a little as Julieta snoops around.] I know it looks like a train wreck in here.

So don't judge me too harshly, okay?

[Just when Julieta starts snooping around under the bed, that pesky kappa quickly skitters towards the far end before attempting to dive behind a stack of magazines nearby. The faint sound of Fujiwara's claws scratching against the wooden floor is noticeable, especially since it sounds like a cat or something running past. However, Dante conveniently started to whistle when Fujiwara dashes off.]

[ She thought she heard something. Glancing left and right she can't find the source of it. Now she's concerned. A quick look back under the bed yields nothing as well. This really is a thankless job. He's just sitting there watching her and whistling. They could be gone already. She sits down on the bed in frustration. ]

Fine I won't but you're not going to get any ladies in here if you start attracting pests.

[There must be a god in heaven somewhere because Fujiwara managed to pull the impossible. Dante glances over at the pile of magazines with a knowing smirk. It seems his little kappa buddy is more spry than he seems. That's a good thing but the kappa's luck will eventually run out.]

Pests? [He glances over at the blond again.] What pests? I might keep things a little disorganized but it's not filthy.

[Clearly Dante is a bit liberal in his definition of "filthy". As he idly cleans up the pizza boxes, he accidentally bumps into the stack of magazines nearby causing everything to come crashing down. We're talking books, bottles, and whatever the hell else Dante has collected as of late.]

Oh crap---

[Well, what's green and mean with a tortoise shell and a slice of pizza in one hand? That would be none other than Fujiwara looking like a deer in headlights after Dante knocked over the pile.]

Then what was...

[ She locked eyes with the kappa. That was what she was looking for. In an instant she pushed herself off the bed and straight toward him. She might not be trying to harm him but she can't let him get away. So he really was hiding them. All that nonsense was just stalling. Of course it was. It would only delay the inevitable. She reaches out both arms to grapple her target. ]

[The kappa locks eyes with her before turning to Dante for help. Now under normal situations, the devil hunter wouldn't get in between the law and a fugitive. However, these aren't normal circumstances and Dante doesn't want his little buddy in the slammer. So against all better judgement, Dante decides to get involved further.]

Hey, wait!

[He quickly places himself in between the blond bombshell and his scaly little informant. That means poor Julieta is getting a face full of that sculpted chest right now. She better get an eyeful while she can since Dante will be putting on a shirt after this.]

Now before you decide to tackle the little guy, hear me out.

[Dante is going to try his best to diffuse the situation but he's not really good at it. After all, he's a world famous provocateur not a mediator.]

You're with the Enma, right? But you're a Lost Soul just like me. Whatever bullshit going on between the yakuza and the government is none of our concern. However, you know damn well that this entire situation stinks and the kappa are being blamed for it.

[ She knows she shouldn't stop for anything. Her target is so close right now. Once again there's a wall in her way. In spite of trying not to, she finds herself looking. That moment of not tearing off after him causes her to lose momentum. She'll listen, if reluctantly. It's not like she entirely disagrees with what he's saying. ]

That's a possibility. If we find out more from them we may know for sure. He won't be harmed.

Can you really guarantee that? [He questions with a hint of distrust in his tone.] We've all been bamboozled into working for these assholes against our better judgement.

We don't know anything about these folks or even how Jigoku-cho functions as a city, so who knows what the Enma dude will do to them.

[It's that level of unknown that makes Dante more than just a little leery. Someone is clearly pulling the strings behind the scenes but he doesn't have the faintest idea as of who it could be. All he knows is that someone wanted Daitengu dead and now everything is up in the friggin air.]

Not to toss this out from left field but what do you know about the assassination?

I know. I know. Look, I can't share that with you.

[ Her frustration is increasing by the moment. This isn't really the time to be discussing this. She has work to do whether she agrees with it or not. It's hard enough without people like him standing in her way. She moves to walk around him. ]

Aw, you're not going to share with the class?

[All jokes aside, Dante isn't about to let little miss proper get away with nabbing his turtle friend. Not without instilling a good sense of doubt within her. While he's not thinking of putting up too much of a fight, he does want to sow the seed of doubt here and now.]

Look, whatever the Enma dude told you is probably a lie. If anyone wanted to bump off Daitengu, it was probably the big red dude with the cool suit.

[He steps in her away again but he purposely keeps his hands to himself. Meanwhile, little Fujiwara is inching rather close towards the window nearby.]

Toraguma is more interested in his feud with the Tamamo than he was with the Sutoku guys and vice versa for the fox babe.

We can discuss this later.

[ She really doesn't appreciate the insinuation about her boss. If he turns out to be right then what does that mean? This whole thing is really starting to feel familiar. Maybe things really are the same anywhere you go.

She lets out a breath. In the next instant she's rushing for the kappa trying to get at him before he goes out the window. ]
