1. WELCOMING COMMITTEE

The influx of Lost Souls means the factions need to have a little welcoming party of sorts. The leaders of each faction each send a message to their new recruits, telling them to meet at their respective headquarters.

The Shuten Clan directs their new recruits to the Arena. There’s plenty of food and booze to go along with the exhibition matches from the toughest fighters they’ve got. Enjoy the view or get involved in an arena fight, if you’re feeling spicy. If bloodsport isn’t your cup of tea, there’s a number of gambling games to partake in, too – don’t worry, your money isn’t at stake here, unless you want it to be.

The Tamamo Clan recruits are sent to the brothel Mizukume. Hosts of all sorts are there to fill your every need. If you’re not one to be doted on, there’s also exotic dancers in every state of undress for you to look at. You may be tasked with being a host or a dancer yourself. If you’re not in the mood for that, there’s plenty of food from Tamamo-controlled restaurants to eat and seemingly endless drinks. The drinks may or may not have a little something extra in them, so check the labels carefully.

The Sutoku Alliance meets at the nightclub Konoha. It’s truly a celebration with an enormous amount of fast food from every joint in their district and an equal amount of cheap drinks. Sing your heart out with live band karaoke – don’t worry about them not knowing your song, they seem to have a depth of knowledge beyond this world. Once that settles down, there’s plenty of dancing to do or you can be a wallflower, whatever suits your mood.

The Department of the Enma meets at a meeting room on the top floor of Kaigo no Bou. The room is uncomfortably opulent and wouldn’t be out of place in a Heian imperial court. Fine silk tapestries cover the walls, richly lacquered wood is inlaid with gold, and it all feels like it was decorated by someone with more money than taste. There’s fine food and even finer drink available. Various multi-armed youkai play in a jazz band, playing their instruments in a much more complicated manner than strictly necessary. Stretch your legs and dance. Take a peek out the window for a bird’s eye view of the city. If the interior is too stuffy for you, escape to the roof for some fresh air – just be careful not to fall off.

2. PARTY TIME

After everyone’s had their fill of food, drink, and entertainment: the party isn’t over. They’re told to make their way to Konoha with the instruction to show their faction’s pride. That’s a careful way to tell them to raise hell. Upon arrival, all recruits are provided with an advance on their pay by The Enma. Food is provided by the Shuten Clan, a variety of all sorts of meaty foods. Drinks are provided by the Tamamo Clan, but be wary because some may have that special Tamamo kick to them (read: aphro). It’s technically a neutral meeting place, but there’s almost certain to be a fight sooner or later. Entertain yourself, meet the other factions, and raise some Hell.

Yes. It was really filling. I think I ate a lot of it today.

I wish we had more spices and the like, back where I grew up in. Food will be a lot more interesting then.

he thinks about how best to phrase where he's from, and then he tells her, ] I come from the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, in Fodlan. I was attending a school before I got here.

If it helps, the year was 1180 when I left.

I see! Kingdoms aren't really around anymore where I'm from. Different systems of government and growing complexity of such when it comes to big populations and all that.

[Iona would affectionately call the worlds some customers come from, the "Dungeons and Dragons" flavored and that's the feeling she gets from "holy kingdom."]

And as for the year... Hm.

I suppose that would make you almost 1000 years older than I am if I were to get technical.

[truly, she is joking, but still she's not wrong sort of kind of??? Different worlds, different rules, ok?]

Ah, really? A thousand years old ... well, I guess that's not too strange given how many worlds we all come from.

Though I assure you, I'm only seventeen.

[ tall for his age, perhaps, and too formal, but that's all of his noble upbringing coming to fore. ]

I am Dimitri, by the way. Lovely to meet you.

Call me Monts. It's also lovely to meet you, Dimitri.

[There's something about the formality that she finds sweet. She pauses for a second glancing back in the direction of Konoha humming thoughtfully.]

I wonder how long how lovely first meetings are going to be since it seems like we've all been claimed by a group.

I don't think the factions care too much - so long as their lines are respected. And things are quite blurry from time to time.

That being said, I think the entertainment district serves as a neutral playground. I think we'll be fine.

[ everyone's supposed to have fun around here, aren't they? though dimitri isn't really the type to indulge in these things. ]

[They've sure had quite the welcoming celebrations, first within their own assigned clans and now everyone is out and about, discovering the sights and sounds of this youkai filled city.]

Mm. Well, maybe I'm being too concerned. I'll take my fun where I can get it in the meantime...

[She prepares to make her way back to the club, before pausing to just at least ask.]

... Are you by yourself, by the way? Just curious. We all come from different places, but I know for sure that I haven't seen anyone I know.

There are benefits in allowing the free movement of people within borders. I imagine it's more lucrative to do that as well for each faction, rather than cleanly delineating where boundaries are, which seems to be the case in this city.

It's not bad to be cautious, however. Especially when crowds like this can easily turn into a rather, well ... physical celebration, if you know what I mean. [ what with how much fighting just went on in that club; the saints alone probably know what happens behind closed doors. ]

I am by myself right now. I did come here with friends, though I assure you, none of us planned to be here.
