March 2022 IC Mingle

MAIN NAVIGATION
1. WELCOMING COMMITTEE
cw: optional aphro in Tamamo Clan prompt
The influx of Lost Souls means the factions need to have a little welcoming party of sorts. The leaders of each faction each send a message to their new recruits, telling them to meet at their respective headquarters.
The Shuten Clan directs their new recruits to the Arena. There’s plenty of food and booze to go along with the exhibition matches from the toughest fighters they’ve got. Enjoy the view or get involved in an arena fight, if you’re feeling spicy. If bloodsport isn’t your cup of tea, there’s a number of gambling games to partake in, too – don’t worry, your money isn’t at stake here, unless you want it to be.
The Tamamo Clan recruits are sent to the brothel Mizukume. Hosts of all sorts are there to fill your every need. If you’re not one to be doted on, there’s also exotic dancers in every state of undress for you to look at. You may be tasked with being a host or a dancer yourself. If you’re not in the mood for that, there’s plenty of food from Tamamo-controlled restaurants to eat and seemingly endless drinks. The drinks may or may not have a little something extra in them, so check the labels carefully.
The Sutoku Alliance meets at the nightclub Konoha. It’s truly a celebration with an enormous amount of fast food from every joint in their district and an equal amount of cheap drinks. Sing your heart out with live band karaoke – don’t worry about them not knowing your song, they seem to have a depth of knowledge beyond this world. Once that settles down, there’s plenty of dancing to do or you can be a wallflower, whatever suits your mood.
The Department of the Enma meets at a meeting room on the top floor of Kaigo no Bou. The room is uncomfortably opulent and wouldn’t be out of place in a Heian imperial court. Fine silk tapestries cover the walls, richly lacquered wood is inlaid with gold, and it all feels like it was decorated by someone with more money than taste. There’s fine food and even finer drink available. Various multi-armed youkai play in a jazz band, playing their instruments in a much more complicated manner than strictly necessary. Stretch your legs and dance. Take a peek out the window for a bird’s eye view of the city. If the interior is too stuffy for you, escape to the roof for some fresh air – just be careful not to fall off.
2. PARTY TIME
CW: optional aphro
After everyone’s had their fill of food, drink, and entertainment: the party isn’t over. They’re told to make their way to Konoha with the instruction to show their faction’s pride. That’s a careful way to tell them to raise hell. Upon arrival, all recruits are provided with an advance on their pay by The Enma. Food is provided by the Shuten Clan, a variety of all sorts of meaty foods. Drinks are provided by the Tamamo Clan, but be wary because some may have that special Tamamo kick to them (read: aphro). It’s technically a neutral meeting place, but there’s almost certain to be a fight sooner or later. Entertain yourself, meet the other factions, and raise some Hell.

Haruka Sawamura | Yakuza series | Tamamo
Dancing, however, is a lot of work. Which is why she's going to duck out and head to one of the restaurants when she finally becomes aware of her body enough to realize she's starving. She's too clever not to watch the bottles, and she'll order drinks that seem relatively familiar. Hopefully that's safe.
Regardless of when you encounter her, there's a spring in her step and a smile on her lips; she's a bouncy girl, always has been, and she hasn't had the chance to party in... ever, really.
She'd love to make a few friends among her new clan. Her clan. It sound so strange to her, considering. But also kind of exciting. She'll have to see how it all pans out... ]
party time
She's usually pretty careful about what she drinks but honestly, when she's thirsty enough, she might unthinkingly take a glass without checking. It's her first time out in the big city when she's so free like this, after all. Mistakes will happen. ]
no subject
Hell. It's Hell! What the hell...
It'll take him a while to actually get used to the place. But that doesn't mean he can't be useful which is why Hinata is actually doing a little patrolling instead of actually participating in the festivities. Just to make sure no one from any of the other clans isn't planning on starting some kind of conflict. He just so happens to be lingering by the drinks when he notices a human woman going for one of the drinks without looking. Wanting to assist his fellow human, Hinata approaches her and puts his hand over the glass in her hand to prevent her from drinking it. ]
Are you sure you want to take a drink from that? Might be a bad idea.
no subject
Her cheeks flush a little, embarrassed at how foolish she'd been. ]
No, no, I don't. Thank you for stopping me. I should have realized.
[ She'll offer him a quick little bow with her hands practically at her knees. ]
Thank you!
no subject
No need to thank me. Just make sure to be more careful. This place is... really strange at times.
[ Strange is a bit of an understatement. It was weird. Really, really weird. ]
From your reaction, I'm guessing you really must not be from here too. Are you at least settling in okay? No one giving you any trouble so far?
no subject
Oh no, no one's given me any trouble. Everyone's been very helpful and nice. A few people have asked about my dancing but I don't mind talking about that.
[ Immediately? Concern. ]
Have people been giving you trouble?
no subject
[ He is curious about what she'd do if there was someone actually troubling him. She's a small lady. Well, she's a small lady to him. He could hardly imagine her going out and beating up a bunch of Oni. But then again, maybe she's some kind of magical girl. He's seen a lot of strange things in this place. It would be a surprise, but not unexpected. ]
Dancing, huh? You dance?
[ He's caught glimpses of all kinds of dancing before. And he's had to do it recently when he first got here while he was volunteering at that host club. ]
What kind of dancing?
no subject
Um, I guess it would be called contemporary dancing, but I do a little of everything when I'm-
[ -performing. She cuts off before she says it and blushes as she looks away and considers how to continue her answer. ]
-dancing. Whatever feels right for the song and gets everyone pumped up.
no subject
Hm. I see. Well then, why don't you bust a move right now?
[ The song that's currently playing isn't the kind of music he usually listens to. His favorite song is the short, continuous tune that always plays when he went into his favorite convienience store. His music tastes are quite limited. ]
It's a celebration, right?
no subject
I was resting a little from dancing. But I think I'm ready to go again. Did you want to dance with me or just watch?
welcoming committee
After watching Haruka for a little bit she approaches. ] I've never seen moves quite like that before. Do you think you could teach me?
[ She may as well learn if this is the kind of stuff that is expected other clan members. ]
Re: welcoming committee
Oh! Sure, I can show you some of the moves. But I'm not really a teacher or a choreographer.
no subject
That may be so, but I'm sure I can pick up something if you walk me through the movements.
no subject
My name is Haruka. Are you new to the Tamamo clan too?
no subject
Once she returns she'll settle down next to Haruka. ] You may call me Azem. It's a pleasure to meet you, Haruka.
[ Her head bobs in a little nod. ] Yes. Newly arrived and claimed like so many others here.
no subject
It's nice to meet you, Azem-san.
Are you adjusting all right to the city?
no subject
Well enough. I admit this place is much more chaotic and cramped than I'm accustomed to. [ It leaves her missing the shining spires of Amaurot. ]
What about you?
no subject
Like karaoke. I definitely want to find a karaoke place here.
[ It's not the same without Uncle Kaz but she can get herself back into practice for when she has him back. ]

party time
It does appear in the form of a dancing beauty. Yae blinks her eyes. Once. Twice. Those movements are simply different from the dances that she has always watched-- No, even by this world's standard, Haruka's movement was simply too fluid and elegant that a lot of Tamamo passerby can't help but get mesmerized at; Yae being one of them. She silently watches until Haruka seemingly stop her dance as one of the tracks fade out and then gently approaches her, clasping her palms in full respect. ]
That was quite an enchanting movement that you just showed us, young lady. Do you happen to be a professional dancer?
Re: party time
I was for a little while. I haven't danced like that for a few years. I'm glad you liked it, though!
no subject
The pleasure's all mine. Ah, such performance is stirring me. If only I had my stuff with me... [ She continues to mumble again in a barely audible voices before she realizes: ] Ah, forgives me for forgetting the basic manner. My name is Yae and I happen to be very new to this clan. To whom do I owe this pleasure?
[ The pink haired lady courtly bows her head a bit, tugging the hem of skirts like she's some sort of a princess or sort. It's...quite an old fashioned way, to be fair. Not that there's anything wrong with that? ]
no subject
Sawamura Haruka. It's lovely to meet you, Yae-san. I'm glad my performance moved you.
I'm new to the clan too. [ Wait, maybe she's not Tamamo? It's been a wild series of parties... ] I-I mean the Tamamo Clan.
no subject
patting targetfriend, but Haruka definitely got all the showings of one from her eyes. Well, it might be a little disrespectful for her if she were to say it out loud, so Yae opts to just let out a hearty chuckle instead. ]Ara, there's no need for all the formalities. After all, I'm just as new here despite our differences of age. We're on the same rank, are we not?
[ Alright, so now that the introduction's out of the way, time to get into the matter on hand immediately. ]
Say, Haruka-san. What's your stance on 'reading'? [ A short pause. ] -No, are you aware of literatures? In general and not necessarily the ones in this place.
no subject
Oh yes, I've heard of literature. And I like reading. I haven't gotten the chance to do a lot of it, but I love stories.
[ A pause. ]
...people have 'stances' on reading?
no subject
No, normal people usually don't. Usually. [ She lets out a short laugh. ] Youkais, unfortunately, are not too adamant about encountering a piece of paper filled with thousand of words on it and we're apparently in a world full of them.
[ She can vouch for it considering, you know, she's a youkai herself. They might differ a bit here and there compared to the one in Jigoku, but in general, they act rather similar: Just a bunch of morons, honestly. ]
Anyway, Haruka-san, may I know your favorite genre when it comes to a book if it's not too personal?
[ KYP. Know your personnel. Know your consumer first. ]
no subject
If I had to pick, I would have to say romance. I like stories where things end happily with everyone together.
