1. WELCOMING COMMITTEE

The influx of Lost Souls means the factions need to have a little welcoming party of sorts. The leaders of each faction each send a message to their new recruits, telling them to meet at their respective headquarters.

The Shuten Clan directs their new recruits to the Arena. There’s plenty of food and booze to go along with the exhibition matches from the toughest fighters they’ve got. Enjoy the view or get involved in an arena fight, if you’re feeling spicy. If bloodsport isn’t your cup of tea, there’s a number of gambling games to partake in, too – don’t worry, your money isn’t at stake here, unless you want it to be.

The Tamamo Clan recruits are sent to the brothel Mizukume. Hosts of all sorts are there to fill your every need. If you’re not one to be doted on, there’s also exotic dancers in every state of undress for you to look at. You may be tasked with being a host or a dancer yourself. If you’re not in the mood for that, there’s plenty of food from Tamamo-controlled restaurants to eat and seemingly endless drinks. The drinks may or may not have a little something extra in them, so check the labels carefully.

The Sutoku Alliance meets at the nightclub Konoha. It’s truly a celebration with an enormous amount of fast food from every joint in their district and an equal amount of cheap drinks. Sing your heart out with live band karaoke – don’t worry about them not knowing your song, they seem to have a depth of knowledge beyond this world. Once that settles down, there’s plenty of dancing to do or you can be a wallflower, whatever suits your mood.

The Department of the Enma meets at a meeting room on the top floor of Kaigo no Bou. The room is uncomfortably opulent and wouldn’t be out of place in a Heian imperial court. Fine silk tapestries cover the walls, richly lacquered wood is inlaid with gold, and it all feels like it was decorated by someone with more money than taste. There’s fine food and even finer drink available. Various multi-armed youkai play in a jazz band, playing their instruments in a much more complicated manner than strictly necessary. Stretch your legs and dance. Take a peek out the window for a bird’s eye view of the city. If the interior is too stuffy for you, escape to the roof for some fresh air – just be careful not to fall off.

2. PARTY TIME

After everyone’s had their fill of food, drink, and entertainment: the party isn’t over. They’re told to make their way to Konoha with the instruction to show their faction’s pride. That’s a careful way to tell them to raise hell. Upon arrival, all recruits are provided with an advance on their pay by The Enma. Food is provided by the Shuten Clan, a variety of all sorts of meaty foods. Drinks are provided by the Tamamo Clan, but be wary because some may have that special Tamamo kick to them (read: aphro). It’s technically a neutral meeting place, but there’s almost certain to be a fight sooner or later. Entertain yourself, meet the other factions, and raise some Hell.

[ This is not the first time that Haruka's been to a host club; in a lot of ways, it's a place of comfort given how many times she went to Stardust and she's certainly been in a few of the hostess clubs as well here or there, as needs required while she was traveling with Uncle Kaz. It's the first time, however, that she's coming to one as a client but she'll certainly do her best to be polite to anyone, lady or gentleman, who comes to sit with her. When there's a call to switch to the other side of things and act as a hostess, she's actually a lot more comfortable: it's not really any different from her fan events and appearances, in a way. She knows how to be personable and appealing. She has a lot more fun (even if it's a lot of work) when she she's overheard mentioning her old profession and gets tapped to do some dancing for the club. It's a very different context but dancing is dancing, after all.

Dancing, however, is a lot of work. Which is why she's going to duck out and head to one of the restaurants when she finally becomes aware of her body enough to realize she's starving. She's too clever not to watch the bottles, and she'll order drinks that seem relatively familiar. Hopefully that's safe.

Regardless of when you encounter her, there's a spring in her step and a smile on her lips; she's a bouncy girl, always has been, and she hasn't had the chance to party in... ever, really.

She'd love to make a few friends among her new clan. Her clan. It sound so strange to her, considering. But also kind of exciting. She'll have to see how it all pans out... ]

[ Haruka decides to show her 'Tamamo pride' by mingling around and, when she sees a likely candidate, seeing if anyone's up for a dance battle. If there is anything she missed from Sotenbori, it's these. And she's hoping it'll help her make a few friends!

She's usually pretty careful about what she drinks but honestly, when she's thirsty enough, she might unthinkingly take a glass without checking. It's her first time out in the big city when she's so free like this, after all. Mistakes will happen. ]

[ Having helped with procuring the food and bringing it over to the party, Hinata is practically forced to attend the thing. Shuten rules and all that. What kind of Shuten Clan member doesn't party? But the thing is that Hinata doesn't usually party. He is in a strange new world surrounded by people he's never met before in his life.

Hell. It's Hell! What the hell...

It'll take him a while to actually get used to the place. But that doesn't mean he can't be useful which is why Hinata is actually doing a little patrolling instead of actually participating in the festivities. Just to make sure no one from any of the other clans isn't planning on starting some kind of conflict. He just so happens to be lingering by the drinks when he notices a human woman going for one of the drinks without looking. Wanting to assist his fellow human, Hinata approaches her and puts his hand over the glass in her hand to prevent her from drinking it. ]

Are you sure you want to take a drink from that? Might be a bad idea.

[ Normally, she's smarter than that, she really is, but with her adrenaline up and her heart racing, she'd just gone for something. Which is why there's a blink and a little startle as the man puts his hand on the glass before wide eyes stare at him. She takes a moment to process, then looks at the drink like a snake that might turn and bite her.

Her cheeks flush a little, embarrassed at how foolish she'd been. ]

No, no, I don't. Thank you for stopping me. I should have realized.

[ She'll offer him a quick little bow with her hands practically at her knees. ]

Thank you!

[ Hinata awkwardly waves away her thanks. He's never been good as accepting 'thanks' from other people. Mostly because he usually tends to act without thinking, often leaving him to get into trouble with others because of it. ]

No need to thank me. Just make sure to be more careful. This place is... really strange at times.

[ Strange is a bit of an understatement. It was weird. Really, really weird. ]

From your reaction, I'm guessing you really must not be from here too. Are you at least settling in okay? No one giving you any trouble so far?

[ She blinks and then she nods, giving a cheerful smile that she hopes will settle his concerns. ]

Oh no, no one's given me any trouble. Everyone's been very helpful and nice. A few people have asked about my dancing but I don't mind talking about that.

[ Immediately? Concern. ]

Have people been giving you trouble?

No one's been really giving me trouble. Unless you consider this whole situation a special kind of trouble.

[ He is curious about what she'd do if there was someone actually troubling him. She's a small lady. Well, she's a small lady to him. He could hardly imagine her going out and beating up a bunch of Oni. But then again, maybe she's some kind of magical girl. He's seen a lot of strange things in this place. It would be a surprise, but not unexpected. ]

Dancing, huh? You dance?

[ He's caught glimpses of all kinds of dancing before. And he's had to do it recently when he first got here while he was volunteering at that host club. ]

What kind of dancing?

[ She nods to the question, because it's an easy question to give. ]

Um, I guess it would be called contemporary dancing, but I do a little of everything when I'm-

[ -performing. She cuts off before she says it and blushes as she looks away and considers how to continue her answer. ]

-dancing. Whatever feels right for the song and gets everyone pumped up.

[ He listens to her explanation, slightly intigued by the way she looks away and seems more embarrassed than anything else. ]

Hm. I see. Well then, why don't you bust a move right now?

[ The song that's currently playing isn't the kind of music he usually listens to. His favorite song is the short, continuous tune that always plays when he went into his favorite convienience store. His music tastes are quite limited. ]

It's a celebration, right?

[ She tilts her head for a moment before she catches the beat through all of the noise of celebration, and soon enough, she's bopping a little in her seat. She'll still give him a slightly teasing smile. ]

I was resting a little from dancing. But I think I'm ready to go again. Did you want to dance with me or just watch?

[ Azem finds herself quite fascinated with the dancers. Aside from her mentor having taken up some moves as a dancer for combat purposes, she's never seen anyone move in such ways. Sure, dancing and the arts are well alive where she's from, but no one dances quite like this. Let along in such outfits or lack thereof in some cases.

After watching Haruka for a little bit she approaches. ] I've never seen moves quite like that before. Do you think you could teach me?

[ She may as well learn if this is the kind of stuff that is expected other clan members. ]

[ She's a little winded from dancing as long as she when she'd not been in the best form lately, has but her idol training comes out in force as she turns a sunshine smile on Azem. ]

Oh! Sure, I can show you some of the moves. But I'm not really a teacher or a choreographer.

Would you like to take a little break first? [ She seems she needs it, even if she's quick to hide it behind a smile. ]

That may be so, but I'm sure I can pick up something if you walk me through the movements.

[ She considers it, then bobs her head in agreement. Yes, she could use a minute. And maybe something to drink. Non-alcoholic, preferably. ]

My name is Haruka. Are you new to the Tamamo clan too?

Have a seat, I'll grab you something. Water, I assume? [ She'll be quick about it once she has an answer. It never hurts to be helpful and polite when she's the one that asked for something.

Once she returns she'll settle down next to Haruka. ] You may call me Azem. It's a pleasure to meet you, Haruka.

[ Her head bobs in a little nod. ] Yes. Newly arrived and claimed like so many others here.

[ She takes the water with a quick bow of her head in thanks and she smiles carefully over at Azem, another nod as she listens. ]

It's nice to meet you, Azem-san.

Are you adjusting all right to the city?

You're most welcome. [ The use of -san receives a slight look of confusion but she doesn't question it. Not when she has a question to answer. ]

Well enough. I admit this place is much more chaotic and cramped than I'm accustomed to. [ It leaves her missing the shining spires of Amaurot. ]

What about you?

I haven't been in a city like this for a while. I got used to smaller places. But they both have nice parts.

Like karaoke. I definitely want to find a karaoke place here.

[ It's not the same without Uncle Kaz but she can get herself back into practice for when she has him back. ]
