Majima 🔞morning schmoop

[ Early morning sunlight filters through the window and straight into Izō's eyes. He grumbles something vulgar under his breath and rolls over. The dog at the foot of the bed lifts her head in protest to the movement. He settles down and so does she.

The problem now is he’s awake, but doesn’t want to get out of bed. He sidles up alongside Majima to rest his head on the other man’s chest. Maybe being close like this will let him go back to sleep...Izō finds himself distracted by Majima instead; the way his chest rises and falls, the way the sunlight plays across his scales, how peaceful he looks in this moment.

Izō can’t help but feel charmed and maybe a little something else. ]

Hey...ya awake?

[ He idly plays with a strand of Majima’s hair, a gentle smile on his face. This is all deeply domestic and something he’s really not accustomed to...but it’s nice. ]

[ That Majima is even still asleep is a small miracle. He's the one who gets up at the ass of dawn to go run and meditate at the river and hit the gym and visit the family office and-- Sleep is not one of his greater priorities, but he usually makes a point of showing up and getting a few hours at some point. He can't be on all the time, as much as he might sometimes wish he could be. ]

Mmm.

[ He makes a faint sound of assent, he can feel Izo staring at him even before he pipes up. Most of his hair is curled into a lazy bun at the base of his neck, to keep everyone from choking on the long strands in the middle of the night, and he certainly sleeps in front of Izo of all people with no insecurity to be out of his eyepatch. That just means there's no point pretending he can see Izo over on that side, so he just leaves his good eye closed. His arm is mostly under Izo anyone, so he relaxes his hand along the line of his back. ]

[ It's probably better that Majima can't see his face and how fond he looks. Izō gets embarrassed even now about showing his true feelings; maybe one day he'll get over that.

He sits up a little more to kiss Majima, hand splayed across his chest to lazily pet him. It's easy to be this affectionate right now because it's safe. Just the two of them -- well, three, but the dog won't judge them. ]

Good...means I got ya all to myself for a li'l bit.

[ He laughs faintly, hand shifting to fluff at the edges of Izo's wings. ]

Th'girls said they wanted to get coffee.

[ Haru and Kate, his running partners. He had left them to their coffee date to sleep in for once. ]

What ya got goin' today?

[ His wings fluff up a bit as Izō shivers, a pleased little noise escaping him. He looks a little embarrassed at that, but tries to push past it. ]

Mm, nothin' much. Jus' gotta go by th' shelter later for a bit... [ Another little kiss. ] Morning crew should have ev'rythin' taken care of 'til then.

[ He's got nothing but time. ]

[ He makes a drowsy noise of amusement. He doesn't even really need to be looking to imagine the expression on Izo's face. So Majima just loops his arm around his shoulders and tugs him close, inhales softly. It's a familiar place to curl into. A lot of things have changed, but not this. This is really what has kept him going all this time. They all generally prefer not to think about Hakagemachhi, but he does think about the barren apartment, where curling up with Izo was the only thing that really mattered. ]

Don't spend enough time with ya, do I.

[ An idle observation as he shifts, wraps an ankle around the back of Izo's calf. ]

Yer busy.

[ An equally idle response. Him being absent simply means that moments like these are all the more precious to Izō. Majima earned his trust and loyalty many times over, so he will simply wait for him like a dog does for their master.

A comfortable tangle of limbs. Izō sighs contentedly. ]

Ain't busy now.

[ More kisses, more affectionate little touches. He almost forgets about the dog half-asleep at the foot of the bed. A killer like him doesn't deserve these little domestic moments. ]
