[ She doesn't seem to have taken it personally either way because after a few moments, the door swings open and she's standing there, casually leaning up against the door frame in little more than a baggy shirt and her underwear, accessorized by a dwindling cigarette hanging at the corner of her lips. Her eyes give him a friendly onceover, her mouth quirking upward ever so slightly. ]

[ She gives him one of those wry little looks, but nods in the direction of the kitchen cupboards. Plenty of booze in there — mostly the cheap shit someone may or may not be using as a maladaptive coping mechanism — but it's the kind of household where sake is a staple. ]

[ Dryly then, just to tease: ]

You going to chug? Or should I go get myself off while I wait?

[ It's obvious he hears her from the way he flinches, but cheap sake wins straight from the bottle wins out. He takes a long, hard drink before turning to her with a scowl. ]

I'm good. [ Another drink before he puts the bottle back. ] ...Now are ya really gonna make me say why I'm 'ere or are we jus' gonna get started?
