Any time that Shoto sees Yuuji makes him happy. Yuuji has become one of his close friends for varying reasons and if someone asked Shoto to put his finger on why, he never would be able to. Seeing him here, in Tamamo, makes him think that maybe his friend was on the way to Shoto's own home. He has unrestricted access to it, after all, and even if he weren't Shoto's already spotted him.

"Yuuji." he says loudly enough to at least be heard and his few steps forward are a little more quick than maybe just a calm walk. He has to catch up in the mill of people, it's a little bit of an 'excuse me', and a 'sorry', before Shoto catches up, eager to see Yuuji. Now that he's standing somewhere in the vicinity of his friend, the only thing Shoto can think of is: "Hi."

[ what the hell is going with this weird fucked-up contest? why is everyone losing their mind and acting so lewd in public? yuuji couldn't believe what was happening, somewhat concealing his eyes and flustered face behind his hands—

oh, he should leave. this is just too weird. before he could do so, he heard his name and that almost gave him a heart-attack. no, no one should know he is here watching this!!!!!! it was too late; he couldn't escape on time. fuck fuck fuck! ]

I was leaving!!!! I swear!!

[ ah, wait. it's shoto. in which he sighed in relief; they are close enough not to feel awkward about this. the hero probably knows of his sins already. ]

[Shoto only gives the most barest of look to the activities. He lives here, he sees the most depraved of things and this doesn't feel out of the ordinary, just the scope of it. It doesn't really even bother him if Yuuji wants to stay a while and watch and Shoto can meet up with him la-- oh. He's leaving? Well that's f-- wait he's not leaving?

Shoto stands beside his friend, waiting for him to go through the myriad of emotions that are clear enough in his voice and his face.]

Oh. You were leaving to my place.

[That makes sense, now that he's puzzled that out.]

There's something I'd like to volunteer for before we go, did you want to come with me? Unless you want to watch some of the contest and meet up after?

[Phrasing, but y'know what, he's offering.]

[ of course he was on his way to invite himself over; visiting shoto might be one of the few reasons he'd drop in the tamamo turf, considering how scandalous this area tends to be. yuuji doesn't trust himself here at all.

it's all good— totally happy to leave with his friend so they can be more productive with their time, maybe grab something to eat while they are at it. until shoto startled him with this vulgar confession, seemingly way too casual about it. it left yuuji staring at him for a fair amount of time; his own expression fell flat— as if his brain is struggling to evaluate the information. ]

[Inviting himself over implies that Yuuji wouldn't be able to move his things in without notice and Shoto not be okay with that. A falsity. He casa es also other he casa.

The pause is pretty evident on Yuuji's face, and Shoto isn't so sure why it's there. There's adventure a specific chance to be able to stretch all their legs and do something amazing at the same ti--

[Shoto tips his head in the direction of his house and does a pivot on one of his feet while walking away from 'the scene'. Nothing new in any of the places he's been in for him, but he's eager to get back and figure out what it is Yuuji knows about the volunteer work that Shoto doesn't.]

regardless, he still didn't want either of them to be here. this scenery might be normal in this faction, and while he understood shoto isn't a child— and he is free to make his own choices; it still felt weird to willingly walk away when he's aware of what is happening. it made him wonder if shoto is okay with this?

sure, he might have to do some hosting duties— but yuuji always assumed it's nothing more than indulging in a conversation and serving drinks. did shoto need to perform sexual acts on his clients as well? it felt stupid to be shocked about this, and yet-

once they make it outside the palace; yuuji just had to ask, looking a bit confused. ]

Would you ... do this in public? Like, is this a normal event around here?

[The silence, any other time, would've been worrying for Shoto but he can understand if there's sensitive information involved that Yuuji can't speak freely. In that same silence, Shoto continues to walk until he hears a topic that makes him tick his eyes to the side that Yuuji is walking on.

'This' is an easier thing to understand when it's 'is this a normal event', volunteering doesn't fall under that category. His eyes slide away. He can lie about anything he wants, who is here to tell anyone otherwise?]

It's not usual, this is the first public display where it's been in the streets. There are some alleyways that aren't... After dark it's best to avoid them and to afford people their space.

[Of course that doesn't answer the other question, but Shoto is working toward it.]

I won't be doing those things here, given the chance. The most I've participated in exchanges like that has been introducing people to others in the clubs when I'm asked to host. I'm sure Fushiguro has already told you I kissed him to make our entry to the club on the mission we went in together on. That's it.

[If they're friends like he and Midoriya are, he's sure he's told him. Even if Shoto hasn't said anything to Izuku. Continuing on, Shoto pauses at a small shop, this will be the takeout dinner eventually.]

We don't have to tell anyone. This is for us, not anyone else if we feel we want to. I'm not ashamed of how I feel, but I'm concerned as to why Midoriya said what they said, too.

Now how the hell does he make his makeshift outfit good for a date and for patrolling? He'll figure it out. He does, for the most part, his clothing is always well kept but it's not a matter of that. It's two things and he's not sure how to claw those two things together. If anything it at least ends up with a nice visit to the ladies who he often goes to for help in Tamamo regarding his wardrobe.

He has to veto the clothes they'd rather see him in versus clothes that are more appropriate for patrolling for him. A quick stop at the flower shop and a blue flower later and he's waving at her at their meeting spot.

I've found you non-sorcerers have your own meaning for curse. Something like "bad luck". There's a little more to it than that. When you direct your feelings at someone, you curse them. Whether it's love, hate, fear, or anything else, if the feeling's strong, receiving it is a curse. It's not inherently good or bad. It's just natural.

Honestly? Not really. It's my one friend who calls me that.

Yes, almost all quirks are unique to their users unless they're directly passed down through genetics. Even then there will always be differences. My mother's was ice and my father's was fire. As long as I use it to protect people, it's alright to have. When I raise my hand to use it and hurt people who aren't an active threat... I've never done that.

It's something like that. Most curses are personal, a short term desire or outburst born of just one human and fixated on their same goal. They're not very strong or smart, so sorcerers can't be bothered to try to understand, and slaughter them just for daring to exist.

Others come from shared thoughts. Believing rumours that a place is haunted, for example. Did youkai always exist? Or did this place and its locals come into being because humans willed it?

In my own case, I was born of the fear all of humanity shares towards other humans. That hate and disgust they have for anyone who doesn't look or act the way they want. People like that friend of yours, or who can't fit into some perfect mold.

I've been restrained so far, since work and studying are important, but I feel like I should be there for anyone who's been hurt by that unbalanced kind of society.
