...I can't promise that we won't encounter any dark-winged beings there. But if there is a tengu working inside, will you be able to control yourself?
[ she lets that question sit for a moment before scurrying onwards until they reach the outer walls of the warehouse itself. the emergency ladder is a little high up, but that's okay; once the coast is clear, she gives a running start before flipping up and landing neatly on the landing before bringing down the metallic leader for shealtiel to climb.
she'll go up ahead. try to keep up with her, will you? ]

( He says that with certainty, even if he knows it would certainly hold him up to see black wings. Well. For now, he has to hope that he can avoid it, and follows Eula's lead. Her flip and land is really cool, so that pulls him into the moment a little more, and he climbs up the ladder after her.
Though he has no real special moves of his own during all of this, he does keep up! He scans the areas they pass, tries to peek into the warehouse itself when he's able, and stays close enough to be back up, but far enough behind to be out of the way.
He's used to trailing after others on missions. He did this before, with Khamael... )
Have you done a mission like this before? ( Spoken quietly. )

Yes, plenty of times. Both here and back in my world. Though the difference is that I usually infiltrate monster camps rather than warehouses...
[ but hey! she makes do. the back door is predictably locked, however, and she sighs. ]
Guess we'll have to kick this one down. Unless... [ she turns to shealtiel. ] Could you find a window or some sort of opening?

( He wonders what those monsters are like. Frowning at himself and the innate desire to connect with anything like that, though, he moves on at her request, scanning the side of the warehouse. They're already up one flight, but a glance upwards tells him they might be able to climb more.
He shifts, climbing onto the fencing surrounding the back door, placing his hands flat on the side of the building. )
I think the roof might have some kind of access. Look there. ( He points out a sort of vent system that runs up the side of the wall. This looks more elaborate, but at the very least he could fit in and find a way to open things. )
I just need to get to the top.

Mm. I'll wait for you, then. While you're at it, take note of the things you see inside with your phone camera before getting back to me. Who knows, you might be able to catch important conversations between two workers.
[ see? they're innovating. ]
And make sure to be fast and quiet, but you don't need me to tell you that twice. Clear?

( Technology! Shealtiel pulls his phone out as if to double check it's in working order (phew, it's charged) and then tucks it back in his pocket with a nod. He can manage this... )
I'll be as quiet as possible. Give me... five minutes.
( And if he takes longer than that, it's probably a bad sign? If he had to guess. But he shifts, jumping and grabbing at the piping along the side of the building. Crawling up to the top of the roof like this is definitely not his easiest mode of travel, but he manages it, and he even gives a sheepish little wave down to Eula once he reaches the top.
From there, his head ducks away, and he enters the vent.
It's relatively silent, all things considered. The normal sounds of movement, of crates dropping, muffled conversation. Shealtiel sends his first message to Eula. The camera shows absolutely nothing but the wall of an air vent, but there's faint talking...
A text follows. )
I can't hear them too well or replay it, but I'm pretty sure I heard stardust. There are a couple of turns in the vents, so I'm trying to figure out which way to drop in. Give me a bit longer.

now to play the waiting game, while surveying the area from here. she eyes the cargo the trucks have been unloading and... on the surface they look like ordinary boxes covered in heavy cloth. they could be fruits or fish, for all they know -- at least on the surface. all she needs is shealtiel's proof and they'll be set. ]
We'll have this analyzed at the Department later, but I can somehow make it out as well. Hurry.

Then, the door clicks, and he pushes it open quietly, glancing to Eula and then back inside. )
There are some important people in the room close by.
( Not wanting to create too much noise, that's all the information he offers, aside from a gentle point in the correct direction. Sure enough, there's some sort of an office here on the second landing of the warehouse, door shut and windows showing a group of at least three youkai speaking.
Shealtiel, meanwhile, is looking fairly dusty after climbing through those vents. Yuck. But it was for a good cause!
He's looking to Eula now for instruction, relying on her as the superior officer. )

Mm. Good work.
[ she nods and... yuck indeed. lifting a gloved hand, she dusts off the crown of shealtiel's head at the very least, giving him the closest thing to a hair ruffle before heading inside.
there are definitely three youkai talking amongst themselves inside an office -- a meeting, perhaps? in that case, their target should definitely be in their eula approaches the door and tries pressing her ear in an attempt to overhear, but no dice. ]
Seems we need a special key just to get inside.
[ glances at the scanner right beside the door. eula then walks over to the railings of the walkway, eyes scanning the whole entirety of the warehouse. there are guards walking around as they look after the goods while keeping track of them, but they should be easy pickings so long as the both of them can get to them quick. ]
We'll have to take them down until one of us acquires a key. We absolutely can't make a sound while we subdue them. [ she looks at shealtiel, then points at the right side of the warehouse. ] I'll take this side, while you take care of the other. If one of us gets a key, we must ring each other. Okay?

( It's sudden last minute doubt that has him glancing around, looking at the youkai in the warehouse. Thankfully, none of them have wings. But less thankfully, Shealtiel still finds himself thinly connected to them, as if they're similar in any way. It hurts, it's disgusting, and he's not thinking about it.
But he'll be able to think about it even less when he's not killing them. He reaches for his chest, drawing out the spear that appears from a blue summoning circle on his chest. There's a scattering of prismatic shards and rainbow colored bursts in the light around it, but in the hall where they're tucked into now, it goes unnoticed. He thought he'd get that out of the way. )

[ although... that is an interesting way of summoning a weapon. eula can't help but watch him take on a more serious stance before she holds out her hand and summons her claymore in a shimmer of light. ahh, how it feels good to be able to hold the song of broken pines again.
she clambers on the railing, demonstrating perfect balance as she makes one last once-over of the area. all right. ]
Ready?
[ and without waiting for shealtiel's confirmation, she makes one majestic overhead leap onto one of the three-story racks, the click-clack of her heels almost nonexistent as she runs across these wares and immediately jumps to take down a guard youkai with her own weight, then backflipping to subdue another nearby youkai with her blade, moving as smoothly and gracefully as she can even with a heavy weapon. ]
