[ Around one of the Sutoku residential buildings, it’s a nice peaceful morning broken by the sound of an argument. What else is new. ]

[ The excuse for Minato’s presence this time (not that anyone in this building is buying it now) is he’s helping Tama with packing and moving. It’s a relatable plight to many others, honestly, after their residences were made uninhabitable after the cursed month. The arrival of their mutual friend Eiichi has only made the move that much more urgent. ]

[ That isn’t the cause of the argument. But it might be easy to guess, considering that for the rest of the day, Minato and Eiichi can be found together. Quite… literally together. Is… that a set of handcuffs…? ]

[ The sight of them makes for an odd mirrored effect, given their similar appearances. The only real difference is their expressions: Minato looks distinctly harassed, Eiichi has a permanent scowl — they do seem to be agreed on one thing: Doggedly go on with their day as if there is nothing weird about the situation. ]

Well. It's not as if, alongside the practicalities of moving, Minakami hadn't resolved to show Kawase around the city, both as a (hard-to-say-so-without-some-qualifiers) friend and a fellow Shuten. He just wasn't looking forward to it, not after that fight and icy silence of the first meeting.

(Even if that afternoon had ended in something of a complicated stalemate.)

He felt like he should have guessed Tamamori would have done something like this, though. Otherwise, if this was some karmic punishment for avoiding Kawase for two years, at the end of the day Minakami wasn't entirely sure what he'd even learned, besides a reminder of Kawase's sharp tongue and the rapidly-approaching walls of his own patience.

He stepped out of his sandals and unslung his shoulder bag, hanging it near the shoerack; his weary "Kawase..." coming out entirely on reflex by now, before he even saw their mutual friend sprawled on the floor in defeat.

"Ah, Tamamori." The cat paused in his mauling of the cardboard, coming to wind himself around Minakami's shins, the very picture of innocence. "Are you worn out? We don't need to unpack everything in one day, you know."

He's scrounging so quickly to try and pick the key up- to throw it in Kawase's stupid face for that stupid comment -that he almost forgets the thing he's throwing is, you know, vital to salvaging the remains of their day. By the time he does actually get it picked up, untangling himself and straightening his clothes in a huff, he's right back to trying to pretend he has any power in this situation.

"You two are probably more worn out, right? I guess it's only right I unlock those now." He moves over to Kawase's side first- the handcuffs lock per wrist, and he's not going to unlock Kawase last and risk him getting his hands on them. Minakami is more docile. "I moved things around where I could, but Natsu-chan tripped me up..."

Kawase has certainly not learned anything, and refuses to learn anything from this, other than how frustrating it was to be yanked this way and that, and how much Minakami implored him to not do anything drastic most of the time. Though he was as equally unfazed at Minakami's exasperation now. He considers it a win.

But it is a relief that Tama had actually managed to find the key, and he's more than happy to hold up his wrist when he approaches; if nothing else because it was getting a bit sore.

"I can hardly blame him for it, after the nonsense you pulled today." Harumph. At least Nana was on his side. Probably. "All it did was make it annoying to move all the boxes." He does not know what you expected.

Freed, Minakami carefully stretches his arm out behind his back, rotating his stiff wrist -- he's been consciously holding his arm at an awkward angle all day, in an attempt to minimize contact with Kawase. Carrying stuff one-handed hadn't been much of a strain, all things considered, but the shoulder of his no-longer-trapped arm is going to hurt like the dickens tomorrow morning. Is this a win. Is this what winning looks like.

"Come now, he's just excitable from the move." He steps into the main room (freedom of movement! imagine!!), picking up Tamamori's fake glasses off the floor. (Nana weaves a figure-8 around Minakami's ankles, before abandoning him to scamper up the loft.)

"Tamamori, I have to ask..." He holds out the glasses to Tama -- he might not actually confiscate the cuffs, but he is going to give them a Look. Docile Minakami left hours ago, you only get Serene Judgement Minakami now. "Did someone give you the idea for this?"
