A-Are you sure? I'd appreciate it, but it could be dangerous for you to wander around this late, just to help me.
[ The even tinier shortstack here is less worried about her own well-being than she is about Monts's. ]

[She wags her finger at Beni as if giving the smaller person a lecture.]
And I'm not scared if there's another person with me. And just cause you're kinda tiny, don't think I don't remember that I saw you have a lot of fight in there.
Not that you have to fight anyone for me, but get ready to throw a trashcan for my sake if you have to.

[ Honestly. Throwing around trash cans like some common gang member, instead of drawing blood with sleek, sleek steel. And indeed, she is armed with her typical sword, slung around her waist. In fact, her confidence in her abilities is the primary reason she herself is out this late, still collecting dust as well. ]

[Monts squats down to Beni-enma's eye level to examine the sword by her side.]
They're giving people swords now? Scary, scary!
[Girl's a bit, uh, affected by the Stardust. Anyone who knew Monts well enough could probably tell she isn't as chipper as this.]
But if it's you, I'll feel extra safe!
[THUMBS UP AT THE BIRB]
So let's go hunting for some stars together, okay?

[ She's a swordswoman, thank you very much but it's okay, she gets the gist. It's strange to see her so chipper, even under vastly different circumstances. Still, she'll carry out her duty the best she can. ]
But alright. Many hands make for light work, chirp. I was thinking of checking out the area a few blocks over [ Beni points towards said direction ] that way next.
[ Who knows what else they'll find over there? ]

[Monts stands up, making her way over towards the direction the Servant pointed in. Of course, there's a shady-looking group of youkai all huddled up together muttering, plotting, doing some exchanges and deals...
But here's Monts waving at them after she stops a few feet in front of them.]
Hola! Do any of you fine gentlemen know where a girl can get more of the Stardust!
[They stare at her flabbergasted at first. Just what girl... But they're also eying her bag that's aglow with the stuff and it's clear that they're not gonna be helpful.]

M-Monts!
[ It doesn't take a sharpshooter to see what they're up to, and what their eyes are locking onto. But, like any bird worth her salt, she steps forward, protectively, in front of Monts, as small as she might be. Her hand rests on the hilt of her sheathed blade. One of the yokai, brawnier than either of them would like, steps out from the huddle and toward the holder of the stardust bag. ]

[The yokai aren't even gonna waste time chatting it up. Sure there are two of them, but they're both lithe-looking girls! Their dust was for free for the taking, surely! One of them lunges at Monts who promptly takes two steps back, just barely avoiding him before pushing him out of the way so that Beni doesn't get squashed between them.]
Oops! Okay, no touching until you buy us both dinner!
[monts...]

The yokai misses, and Beni quickly tightens her grip on the hilt of her sword, watching the movement of the group. Another one, seemingly undeterred by his companion's attempt, lunges at Beni's own bag of stardust, meticulously gathered and packed, to which the sparrow nimbly dodges and smacks his arm, hard, sword still sheathed.
First blood...of sorts. She's still clinging onto the vain hope that this can be resolved somewhat peacefully. ]
You heard the young lady.
[ Or rather, no touching at all, if anyone asked Beni; her top priority is getting the both of them out of this sticky situation. ]

Whooo! Go Beni! Beni is the best!!
[The thugs themselves have no weapons to speak of. Once Beni-enma delivers her blow, they back off to reassess. When they notice her sword, there's scowling and muttering, but they back off. Success!
Monts applauds.]

...That was quick. I didn't even have to use Enjaku Battoujutsu, chirp.
[ Her abilities as a Heroic Spirit of some renown might have been dampened for the time being, but they can't take away her skills, forged in the fires of training. ]
Are you all right, Monts?
[ Praise for her so-called heroism aside... Judging from Monts' enthusiasm, she's no worse for wear, but it never hurts to double-check. ]

[Monts gives a thumbs up to Beni-enma, her smile never faltering.]
You know this is the second time you helped me out using your skills... Enjaku Battoujutsu you called it? Maybe you should be my bodyguard! Hmm. Although I suppose even if anything happened to me, I'd make it out alright too!

I can't be your bodyguard, but I'm more than happy to look after you.
[ Sparrows never forget a good deed, and all. The latter part, however... ]
...It's not a bad thing to have confidence in yourself, but you should be more serious about your own well-being, chirp.
[ It's like...a 90% chance that it's mostly the stardust doing the talking, right? Right? ]

[As cheerfully as she says it, it is eerily cryptic (or rather because she's saying it so cheerfully, it makes it even more unnerving).]

That doesn't make me feel much better, chirp!
[ If anything, it makes her wonder why it would take so long for her to notice that something is wrong. When she met Monts in the blood rain, she seemed to have her wits about her, enough to smack off the hand that was restraining her, so it wouldn't have been a case of her being too airheaded to notice. ]
...Are you missing your sense of touch?
[ Because, if she doesn't, as someone who's also missing one of her senses (taste, for her), she can understand how that feels, to some extent. ]

[There is a noticeably long pause before Monts shakes her head.]
No, my senses are all there for the most part.
[For the most part?]
It's fine Beni, I'm fine.

Another kind liar, she supposes. ]
I...I see. [ They're not close enough where she can be more aggressive in making her spit things out if she's insisting she's fine, but Monts can be sure that she's tucking this away for later. ] Well, I asked because...I don't have my sense of taste myself, so I thought...
[ That they were in a similar boat, so to speak. It's not something she usually brings up often and so openly, but she did so in hopes that it would encourage Monts to come forward a bit more. ]
