[Monts turns her attention to the other girl blinking as she blithely takes some Stardust from a window ledge into her bag.]

Oh, is that where we are now? I was beginning to wonder where the warble of bad karaoke disappeared to.

[Is she being coy? Sincere?? Just foolhardy? All three? Anyway, she makes a dismissive gesture with her hand.]

Well, I won't go too deep, but I did hear from some little bird that there's some in the convenience stores and it'd be a shame to at least not check it out. I'll even buy some snacks so I'm not just stepping in all willy-nilly without giving anything back!

[exiguous]

The convenience stores? Is that so?

[ She's swift to reach over and pick up a small patch Stardust on a window sill adjacent to the other one. She stuffs it into her pouch and thinks on Monts' words for a second, considering this...and then she nods. At least she'll give some of her business to Sutoku. ]

Hmm. Very well, I'll escort you to one nearby, then – my name is Mona. You are?

[ Mona fully intends on snagging any Stardust she can in the convenience store, but perhaps Monts will beat her to the punch...! ]

Mona? Monts. I'm Monts.

[She pats her chest to punctuate her introduction. Beaming at Mona, she gestures to have her follow along.]

You look new! Not that I'm keeping track of all the Souls they scoop up, but I'm totally sure I haven't seen you before.

[exiguous]

A pleasure, Monts. And you're correct about that – I'm one of the recent arrivals. Observant, aren't you?

[ The nearest convenience store is only a handful of minutes away, thankfully! So they won't have to walk for too long. ]

You've been here for a while, then. What faction do you come from?

[nerine]

Oh, not I'm not that observant.

[She's downplaying it; Monts is much more observant than one gives her credit for.]

But y'know, it's hard not to notice how much more crowded it's been with the non-youkai sort! As for me, I'm Tamamo.

[She gives Mona another 'peace' sign with her fingers, waving those back and forth as they enter through the doors of a convenience store.]

I'm not a fighter though if that's what you're worried about. I'm the type that just gets caught in the middle rather than start anything.

[lies, she has started shit before]

Hm. Fair enough, I suppose. Welcome to Sutoku territory, in that case, though I'm sure you've been here before.

[ Monts seems all too happy to be here, but Mona has a feeling it's because of the stardust. It has to be, right...?

She's a little wary about the whole fighter thing, though, and she hums thoughtfully. Ultimately, Mona decides to take her at face value. ]

Very well, then. I have no reason to fight you, anyway. You haven't caused a disturbance that would warrant something like that, and I wouldn't want to be the one to put you out of your good mood.

[ A coy little grin, then: ]

So, Monts, what sort of world do you come from?

[nerine]

My world? Oh... Well, we call the planet "Earth" but that really won't mean anything to some people.

[Monts is scouring the snack aisle in the store for any glints and glimmers of Stardust.]

When it comes to other worlds, I have some knowledge, but not very much. Just nebulous concepts of the matter.

[exiguous]

Hmm. Yes, that doesn't quite mean anything to me, but it's good to know nevertheless. I hail from the world of Teyvat, if that sounds familiar at all to you?

[ Does she know any other Teyvat citizens... How many of them are here, exactly, she wonders-- ]

Unfortunately, I don't have such knowledge.

[Though she's acquainted with Chongyun and Xingqiu and maybe had heard it in passing, it's definitely one of those details that probably sailed over her head.]

I don't think we ever had customers from that world either. Oh, and I mean where I'm from. There was a place similar to here in that there were a lot of people from other worlds that I met.

Another world with interdimensional travel of some sort? How fascinating. While I can't say that's a common occurrence on Teyvat, we also had a traveler from another world appear. She's made herself at home, I'd say.

[ She carefully slides her hand to her stardust pouch, preparing herself to collect whatever she can. Her eyes wander to the opposite side of Monts, and she catches a small pile of Stardust, which she's quick to push into her pouch. ]

Ironically, she's also here, with the rest of us.

[nerine]

I ought to do more traveling myself! Well, not across worlds, but just other places outside my home would be nice once we're out of here.

[Big 'if' there, Monts.

She's managed to sweep a few pieces of Stardust here and there from the shelves but is distracted by the drinks in the fridge. In fact, she'll take a peach drink and suddenly push the icy bottle against Mona's cheek.]

Time to hydrate! Drink up!

[exiguous]

But of course. The amount of knowledge one can obtain through their travels is limitless.

[ That, she can agree on.

Mona's startled by the sudden cold on her cheek, though, and she lets out a quiet yelp. How embarrassing! She's getting a little flustered, and she huffs a little as she takes the drink from Monts. ]

Well, you didn't have to startle me! But I'll accept this, I suppose. What are you getting?

[nerine]

[At Mona's yelp after she pushes the drink to her face, Monts just happily quips.]

Ah, cute. That was worth it!

I'll get the same drink. I love peaches!

[exiguous]

N-no, it wasn't!

[ Huff, huff -- Mona pouts, waits for Monts to grab the peach drink. She's easily flustered... ]

Anyway... There's an assortment of snacks, too. I'm fond of these, personally, [ She picks up a small box of chocolate-filled, bear-shaped cookies. ] if you're looking for recommendations.
