People were, for the most part, not in the best headspace, even if they weren't plunged into the worst of it.
But it was sustained and persistent in a way that became increasingly difficult to dismiss or ignore. He moved through the motions of "Majima", but there was a notable absence behind his eye. Majima, at the worse Lio had seen him, still had the eyes of an animal there, be it himself or the snake.
