Who ⬤ itadori yuuji, fushiguro megumi, mitsuri kanroji.
What ⬤ may mini event
When ⬤ mid-may
Where ⬤ all over the place idk
Content Warnings ⬤ will update if needed!
[ use any force necessary — well, that was the direct order from the Enma, and yuuji had no issue to comply. let's say he has a growing resentment towards any group of punks deciding to form a gang and make his job harder. the best philosophy is to break them before they grow in numbers; simple and efficient.
beating up a bunch of hooligans is the norm by now, but— this time yuuji is hearing a lot of personal resentment towards the Enma himself. the fucking audacity; something about rumors and accusations, the dumb turf war between the other factions, and while the sorcerer didn't entertain having a conversation with one, often eager to punch them on the throat instead. however, there is a steady recurring theme here.
... something is going on.
by now, he had a fair pile of those cursed figures stashed inside his backpack— the mission is going well, but he wanted to drop megumi a quick visit at his part-time job. smiling, yuuji glanced down at the poorly wrapped gift box he was holding onto, totally proud of himself for finding the perfect fitting to keep the element of surprise alive; the pink bow in the center is just a lovely touch yuuji deemed necessary! lost in his own little world, the sorcerer easily neglected the brawls in the background as fights broke out in every corner of the city.
eh, it's not his problem.
reaching the library, he barged in and ruined the quiet vibe with a loud, hearty- ]
Yo, Fushiguro!! Where are you?!
[ ooc; if anyone wants to hit yuuji with an event prompt, or something more specific, feel free to send me a PM ♥ ]

my dogs were snoring so loudly while i wrote this 🥲
him leaving was definitely unexpected, and the surprise is written all over mitsuri's face.
a part of her wonders if this is really the end of things until itadori speaks, and she knows she should have expected for it to be something like that.]
Um... Thank you, Itadori-kun. [ mitsuri isn't exactly sure that she wants itadori in the middle of it all, but she knows she'd be stupid to deny
assistance without her sword or her full strength. plus, it's easier to know he's okay if he's with her!
he really is a gentleman though, if he's making an offer like that -- and his kindness alone is enough to put her more at ease.
not to mention the sight of food!
her hands come up to cup her face in surprise, eyes widening at the giant portions. food was definitely a total mood-changer for her. ]
Thank-you!! It looks sooo yummy!
[ she pops a fry into her mouth and can't help but smile, the earlier nonsense with the oni an almost-distant memory. it was still a little embarrassing to eat in front of a new person, especially one that wasn't eating with her -- but she takes a bite of the burger anyway. ] Waa...! It really is good!!
[ she's cheery again, happily humming to herself between bites. ]
I'm so jealous you get to work in a restaurant, Itadori-kun! It must be so much fun! [ most of the time ]
Do you get to cook too, or do you just handle the customers?? I always thought, if I could have a normal life, then a restaurant would be really nice to run.
cute babies!!!
he flashed her a grin, pleased with her reaction to the meal. if only he knew mitsuri is self-conscious about her love for food because, honestly, the fact she is devouring it is the biggest compliment anyone could make. this is exactly what he was wishing to see.
with his arms folded against the counter, yuuji leans on it again, content with muting all the background noises and indulging in a conversation with her instead. ]
I sometimes do the cooking, when they need the help, but usually ... I tend to the customers! It can be tough at times, but it's never boring in here! I don't do well with 'boring' and I could also use the extra money.
[ 'if I could have a normal life' — what an interesting statement. he's not trying to interrogate her; it's merely a friendly curiosity. ]
What kind of life did you have before coming here?

But … this was hell, after all. How much stranger could this get for Itadori, who’s constantly surrounded by Oni anyway? She wonders about the kinds of stories he’s heard, or the things he’s seen here.
Maybe his life hadn’t exactly been normal, too? ]
I … was born during a time when demons would attack humans. Well, I guess I should say, humans were turned into demons that would then attack humans. Sometimes the demons would be nice and not want to kill anyone, though! I made some friends who were like that... [ like nezuko, or yushiro, who had helped them so much. ]
I was part of a group that stopped the demons who were mean to people. And in the end we were able to fix everything, I think.
[ There’s a small smile on her face now, bitter sweet as she idly keeps eating her fries. She hadn’t been much help back then, she feels — getting in the way, dying with Iguro-san, wrapped in his arms. she has to ignore the pang these thoughts give her: the way that envisioning iguro’s face, and their last words together, make her feel.
She quickly eats a handful of fries to distract herself, with a pout. When she’s done chewing them, swallowing, she continues: ]
A-anyways… Sorry if that’s kind of strange. I know most people don’t know about demons, or fighting them.
It’s a little funny though, since that seems to be what you’re doing here, in a way. I guess it’s just kind of what enma just does in general, too.
[ suuuper ironic, huh?

You're like us sorcerers! But, back home ... we called them cursed spirits. Kinda like the creatures we have here. We used to kill them too.
[ an equally miserable job, with heavy responsibilities and heavier burdens. there is nothing to brag about their fate, yuuji assumes, but it is part of their past, and they are here now— kinda doing the same, isn't it?
that's when he laughed a bit, breaking the tension, and after that unintentionally — in a bar at the heart of shuten territory, this kid thought it was a good idea to say this with his full chest. ]
You must be hella strong, then! And here I thought I'd have to worry about you, but I bet you can win a fist fight easily! Tell me ... do you use cursed energy, too?
[ which, oddly so, it's something that's somewhat manifesting in this city as they speak— thanks to those cursed figures popping in each corner. ]
1000 yrs later ( 〃..)
[ her words are without malace or anger, filled instead with embarrassment; a flustered reminder. there's a rumble among some of the patrons after he says that, and she can hear some oni scoffing and questioning itadori's words at their tables. it wasn't the first time she'd heard people wonder, or even doubt her strength -- because she was a woman, and because of her appearance.
although truthfully, she isn't sure that she's strong. not anymore, after fighting with muzan -- and less so in hell, where her abilities seem to have dulled a lot. ]
I think I'm strong in some ways? [ she stacks two of her empty plates together ] But I have a lot of room to learn, and get better. I'm not really sure what 'cursed energy' is... but if it's cursed, then isn't it bad?
I use my breathing to defeat demons, instead! There are a lot of different breathing styles -- it's like swordsmanship? [ she never knows where to begin when telling a story, or giving an explanation... ] But sometimes people don't use swords, though... I know someone, for example, that uses cleavers. It's because you can make your own breathing style instead of just having a traditional one, so you can have a better way of fighting. Like I made Love Breathing, because I wasn't very good at Flame Breathing ...
[ explaining it is kind of tough to do from scratch. it probably just sounds like a lot of jargon, so -- ]
If I ever get my sword back, then I could show it to you! And if you know how to fight too, then we could try and practice sparring together! I promise I wouldn't hurt you or anything like that... Showing things is just a lot easier, and more fun, than just giving explanations.
