You wouldn't be taking away. Any set of hands that wishes to gain skills, I'll always accept. But there are two things you should know and be ready to agree to, if you want to place yourself under my tutelage.
[those who want to learn would always be welcome, provided they could adhere to the codes she would place them under. the oaths, to borrow from the society they are in.]
One, what I say goes. I shan't have time for arguing. If I ask you to do something, I expect it to be done in a reasonable fashion, even if it's as simple as organizing supplies. And two, those that are treated here come from all over. We do not ask their affiliation, we do not pass judgement upon them. Even if your clan declares that you kill another clan's members on sight, a vow to heal surpasses that, and your own ego does not enter the equation.
I do not expect perfection. But I believe it best to be frank under these circumstances. If you want to build your knowledge with me, then I will expect you to be able and willing to use it in service of others, not just yourself.
( Samatoki listens and, for a few beats after she's done laying it out, he considers. The idea of a healing oath taking paramount over family ties is both expected and heavy to mull over.
Gaze turned to the floor, there's a quiet snicker from his Oni that all present will be able to hear: go for it; but if you break a promise I'll end you myself.
Samatoki hates when he does that. He sets his jaw. )
Wonderful. We can discuss the finer points of it all later, and allow you to ask as many questions as you need or as you would like, but as it is, all you need to do is to tell me when you're free to come in for proper training. Hopefully I can have all of this properly arranged before the end of the month, and begin in earnest then.
[with enough hands, it was possible. there were people kind enough to offer their skill and support, and she really feels as though they're on the verge of being able to say they did it.]

I understand.
( A deep exhale. )
I'd like to learn, still, if you're able.
