This is a post to facilitate shenanigans regarding the Underground turf war! Feel free to park your toplevels below and tag around!

Summary of what’s going on:
The Underground is the network of subterranean utility / sewer tunnels under the city, previously held by the Kappa tribe. After the April 2022 Event, the Underground has been cleared out by the Department of the Enma and is now mostly unattended.

The Tamamo Clan and Shuten Clan have received orders from their leaders to take over the Underground. Unfortunately, there's two of them and only one Underground, so the two clans are fighting over it. (Tamamo Meeting Log) (Shuten Meeting Log)

The Sutoku Alliance is not willing to fight for the territory, but are intending to work out a deal with whoever wins the turf war to get the kappa back to work. The Department of the Enma is also more interested in investigating the Daitengu’s assassination than the turf war, but that means their Lost Souls can bring popcorn and watch the show. [ Getting slapped is par for the yakuza course. None of these guys get it, missed the hazing stage of swearing up where half your day is getting slapped upside the head for every mistake until you stop making them. Majima sighs, rubbing the bridge of his nose with a hand on his hip. ]

This'll be over faster, all hands on deck.

[Listen, Dante used to get smacked upside his head all the time as a dumb kid. He's a grown-ass man now. His awkward hazing phase ended a long time ago. At least that is what Dante thinks about it. He gives Majima a sour glare before suddenly sulking like a bratty teenager.]

C'mon, man! This battle is sucks.

[He complains while trying his best to keep his voice down. Newsflash, he's doing a terrible job at it since a few folks are staring up at them. It's not every day anyone sees a monster like Dante around. He looks like a friggin Balrog in this form. All he needs is a magical fire whip and he's good to go.]

We're fighting against our friends here.

[ He crosses his arms, bloody baseball bat dangling from one hand. ]

Don't let Toraguma hear that shit. Told ya we ain't here t'kill nobody anyway. Crack 'em one an' send 'em on their way.

[An annoyed groan escapes Dante once Majima mentions that overgrown blue Oni. He really doesn't want to deal with Toraguma today, especially after getting such a great "raise" earlier. He knows damn well that Old Blue Boy is going to give him hell if he doesn't shape up and act right.]

Then lets keep this little convo between us, shall we?

[Majima can probably hear the sarcasm in his playful tone. While he might be a big scary hell beast right now, Dante is still Dante.]

Beating them up won't win us any brownie points whenever the next festival happens.

I ain't here t'snitch on ya.

[ He answers shortly, coldly. ]

Clans fued, that's how it is. Ya don't get t'pick. We don't take this tunnel we're gonna be answerin' to Toraguma regardless.

[ Majima is pretty nonplussed about the big scary beast, probably because he saw plenty things bigger and scarier in Hakagemachi. ]

Gokudo ain't a peaceful life. That shit's for civilians.

[Even though he's a little more powerful than your average youkai, Dante knows for a fact he would probably lose if he changes Toraguma as he is right now. The Blue Oni always has something up his sleeve.]

There's no such thing as a 'peaceful' life in my line of business.

[He all but grumbles as he stretches his arms and wings over his head.]

But I prefer calling the shots. If we're going to take out the Tamamo clan, lets do so carefully.

[Dante already spotted a few loose cannons from their fraction going all out with the brutality. He's already plotting on busting their heads in if they keep it up.]
