Did you live there then? I know in the future you can't always tell where someone is from by their name alone, so you could just as easily be from America for all I know.

I only know five countries, each named after cardinal directions. And thus when I say Western Country, I only mean... well, the country in the west. We are rather underdeveloped compared to the other worlds, you see.

Well, I wouldn't say underdeveloped! If your world is small or people only know about a small part of it, it's just natural for people to name things that way. A lot of names for places where I come from are simple in that way too, like calling the eastern capital... eastern capital.
