OOC Information
Tenkohime’s Orders: tl;dr - She wants the Tamamo rookies to claim the Underground sewer system, competing with the Shuten rookies who also have similar orders from Toraguma.

aerith is going to suggest a wild and probably radical idea: they try to entangle shuten long enough for sutoku to get back together, and potentially reclaim the area. she believes that no one in sutoku is completely capable of answering for what's actually going on and submits the possibility that a completely unseen party is banking on them starting a turf war to weaken the as of yet unaffected factions. it's possible that tenkohime, toraguma and potentially enma are having their eyes led away while someone else moves pieces, she would insist. in other words: there's another enemy, they just don't know who yet.

in addition to this, she would state that she got past the kappa and saw the machine underground in the sewers, and thus already knows routes within it for future infiltration. she has pictures she is willing to share if people ask her to prove this. after investigating the crime scene with someone else, she believes that organized crime is likely being conducted under the nose of officials, and would suggest that they carefully consider their options beyond just aiding themselves.

(vote her off the faction btw...)

Reiterating what I mentioned in the discord: my vote is no, IC and OOC. Personally I don't want to go against the faction at this time? But it's mostly IC since I'm playing Nehan the pro mafia man. Sutoku has no official alliance with Tamamo (that he knows of), so there's no actual reason to do it-- individuals doing this are probably just prone to sentiment (punctuated with doggo giving a stare to everyone who likes this idea). Plus Sutoku is unstable as it is and he doesn't think that tipping them off will do anything bc... I mean what are they actually going to do until they get a new Daitengu?

He'll give props to the idea that there's an unknown enemy that did all this, but at this moment when they're all blindsided it's better to deal with the knowns rather than the unknowns, especially when an incoming unknown is the new Sutoku leader and he knows there will be a lot of adjustment to that in the city.

Nehan may also bring this to Tenkohime. He doesn't actually want to in case she's the type to shoot the messenger but he still thinks this is a stupid idea that's going to get Tamamo destabilized. For the record: I don't mind negative CR stemming from this, I'm playing Nehan from his early, angry days, he's got the biggest chip on his shoulder.

oocly i just want to say i am loving the convo 👀 and very down for any ic consequences it draws toward aerith!

icly, aerith can be brought off this by being told that her idea likely would be too dangerous for them to pull off successfully for them and sutoku collaborators. she's not shy at all about saying her concern is actually keeping tenkohime alive, since the assassination of a leader happened in the middle of a large gathering, and two big factions gathering to duke it out below ground could be the ideal cover for something to happen. she's trying to act with the big picture in mind.

another option is to mention tamamo's ideals, which she does believe in— she could be convinced that tamamo having the underground is better than shuten since their core ideals are unity, love and freedom.

her personal vote, after someone does any of those, would be to follow nehan's plan. if azem can get a map going for them, they could potentially find a way into the water supply, maybe through the rivers? the kappa are also a possibility, but she's not too sure of it since enma is in the middle of hunting them.

nehan is of the opinion that they have to do this themselves. this is their first skirmish since arriving and he thinks it's going to set the tone. if they cant do it themselves, win or lose, they wont stand a chance when all four factions get into a war in the future.

also he's def going to tell tenkohime about the proposal to talk to sutoku. i thought about it and he thinks the faction is weak (in overall strength and also organized crime tactics/thinking) thanks to the convos here so he'd be like "hey boss can you find a way to whip the clan into shape so no one even thinks about suggesting this bullshit again". i'm gomen for the mess he may bring

Hazel would support Aerith's suggestion because tbh she's still really salty about how the kappas have been treated. This level of chaos is a little too convenient even for hell in her opinion.

Natori stays quiet for most of the strategizing and refrains from commenting on the rest of Aerith's suggestion, but he does agree with team "this is too convenient an escalation and we should think carefully about who else benefits from us fighting over the stinky sewers, also have we mentioned that we're fighting over the stinky sewers?"

To the unseen enemy they need to be mindful of when choosing a course of action. Huaisang's elaborating on this point in a top level on this post by asking if anyone has confirmation that the Daitengu was actually killed. It's open to threadjacking but I don't mind handwaving in responses from those who don't have time to thread.

Basically, he would comment that the Daitengu struck him as a far more dangerous opponent than Toraguma. He wears a mask, no one hides themselves like that without a reason behind it, tactical or personal. None of the Lost Souls have any way of knowing if the Daitengu that addressed the network and the one that was assassinated are, in fact, one and the same. For all they know, what they saw could have been a false flag operation (though he wouldn't use this exact terminology, it'd be what he'd bring up) that the Daitengu's inner circle could have been in on. They're outsiders here and still learning about the players and the world - it'd be unwise to take the assassination at face value, in his opinion. The Daitengu's a bird and some birds are highly intelligent. They can be predators, too, and some are even capable of eating foxes. Never underestimate a bird in a fight.

(Yes, he would literally say that statement because he's kind of a weird poetic nerd with a flair for the dramatic and a deep affection for birds.)

He'd suggest that investigating the Daitengu further and utilizing any connections (especially personal ones) the group has with Lost Souls in the Sutoku Alliance might be a worthwhile endeavor. Trickery isn't just the domain of foxes any more than information gathering is for the Sutoku Alliance. Even if their leader is truly dead, their elders (aka higher ups) could be using them to secure their territory for them. He can think of several ways the Tamamo Clan could be used in this scenario but he might get self-conscious about showing his tails too much and start clamming up, haha.
