[ The bar is almost exclusively Shuten members, most of them wearied with nightly patrols and clashes. There's plenty of muttering and chatter about the recent assassination, with the common complaint being 'fuck I have to get my funeral suit out of storage'. Majima points lost souls into a slightly more secluded room done up in the titular white koi pattern. ] Siddown, who's heard what. [ He is also weary and bruised from some fights, leaning back against the wall with a cigarette and a drink. ] 🐍 This is a mingle, sure they got together to talk info but they're Shutens so it's assumed they're going to get drunk, yell, and throw hands. 🐍 Lordy please do whatever you want, I'm not the cops. 🐍 OOC info collection 🐍 Toraguma's orders

[Aw, Kamui! Why do you have to be like that? To be fair, Dante smells like several types of booze, not just whisky. This idiot decided to sample everything this fancy bar has to offer. That’s why he’s drunk like a skunk and with his demonic powers on the fritz, the alcohol is hitting him harder than usual.]

But I am taking this seriously, pipsqueak! I know I met you somewhere before.

[He laughs before attempting to chase away his drunken stupor with some water. However, instead of pouring himself a glass of water from the pitcher, he just picks up the whole god damn thing and drinks.]

Mhmmm~! This is the good stuff!

[It’s just water but Dante is so far gone right now it’s a shame.]

Okay, um…we found some stuff! That bullet thing…then the whole shit with the mist. The mist the ninja folks used was specifically made to muddle everyone senses, especially youkai and demons alike.

[Well it wouldn't be a real Shuten meeting without a few drunks now would it. Unfortunately it sounded like they needed this drunk with useful information. Sheliak was impressed that someone as soft-spoken as Kamui was able to manipulate Dante so effectively. He followed his example and quickly jumped in to help keep Dante focused.]

The mist was indeed strange.

[He couldn't sense anything strange himself with his magic sealed but he heard others complain about it.]

I wonder, the White Wolf Guard are famous for their keen senses. That is why many people suspect that the mist was meant to counter them. However, I don't recall hearing anyone mention spiritual senses. Maybe the special steam was meant to hide some aspect of the attackers?

[Dante is like a big dumb puppy sometimes. He might seem fearsome and dangerous but he's actually not so bad.]

It was a little bit of column A and column B, if you ask me.

[Dante answers after a moment of thought. Despite being quite drunk, his mind is still relatively sharp. It just takes him an extra second or two in order to process the questions asked.]

You see, this whole incident was planned from top to bottom. The mist they used to addle everyone's senses was specifically made to counteract the White Wolves abilities, which means the assassins who attacked did they research.

[That also means this couldn't possibly be the fault of any of the Lost Souls here.]

I'm willing to bet this entire hit was done to bump off Daitengu in particular despite all four leaders being attacked. It's almost as if they knew they could get to him or else this entire plan would've ended in failure.

[It's only a hunch on his part but Dante does think Daitengu was the intended target.]

[Sheliak listened quietly to Dante's thoughts. They were surprisingly sound for a drunk and he agreed with a small hum. There was one detail he wanted to add though.]

I agree that the Daitengu was their goal for the assassination however I suspect they were moving other pieces into position for a grander scheme at the same time. They have already shown that they are skilled at maneuvering others into the roles they want with the kappa's involvement and it is extremely suspect that none of the other leaders were harmed.
