[Dangling his legs over the edge of the roof, Dazai peers down. Sure, it's hardly the highest roof in town, but it's just high enough to be interesting. Maybe he should have brought another sake bottle, just to see if he could drop it right next to someone on the street once he finishes it! (Well, he doesn't actually want to kill someone by accident. That's, like, bad, or something.) Or maybe he should have seen if this festival had some goldfish games? Dropping what amounts to a water balloon is probably permissible, right?!]

Oh? Got some easily offended neighbors, do you?

[No, that's not really what he thinks, but even a pot shot can get you answers.]

[Pot shots can get answers from someone who is unguarded about giving out information about his world. Anything he says is common knowledge among those from the Scandinavia of year 90 Post-Infection.]

If by that you mean "they hunt by sound and are always looking for another meal", then yes.

[Then again, sometimes it's difficult to understand exactly what Lalli is getting at, since he gives half-answers unless specifically asked.]

[Dazai's eyebrows move up a bit as he looks back at Lalli.]

That is easily offended.

So Dazai does the only logical(?) thing and basically drops the topic as if they were talking about the weather. It's not out of consideration, really; more like he sees no reason to care too much about something in the past.]

I thought we had to worry for ending up in a place with youkai who may or may not feast on humans, but it sounds like you moved up in the world.

[The lack of zombies is nice, but it's so loud here. It's more of a sideways move to him, trading one set of downsides for another.]

Being able to talk to everyone is alright I guess.

That is some scathing social commentary!

["Debatable" indeed! Imagine what Enma might think of that? Dazai kind of loves it. Or maybe he really is just pleasantly tipsy - or both.]

Mhm, that it is. Conversation is the one thing that hardly ever bores. [He smiles at Lalli.] And if it does, you're not doing it with the right person.

[Lalli is absolutely someone who will walk away from a conversation if he's bored, but in rp you have to be a bit nicer than that he's been slightly more forgiving in Jigoku-cho since there isn't a language barrier to contend with here. Even if Japanese still sounds weird to him, he at least understands it. Learning Swedish has been hellish, especially since the one Swedish-speaker he speaks to most of the time talks like spoiled rich kid most of the time.

Then again, not all of his conversation struggles are due to a language barrier.]

Mmm.

[He'll give Dazai a hum of agreement though. Talking with boring people definitely is a drag.]

This is better than the meetings.

[He respects his fellow Enma-members insofar as co-workers relying on each other goes, but ohhh lordy some of them like to hear themselves talk. There's a reason Lalli can often be found slinking under the table to hide during department meetings.]

[The real question: does Lalli want to secretly be fed snacks under the table at meetings? Because Dazai might hate dogs, but he wouldn't mind adopting a pet at the moment. (... He really is tipsy.)]

It is! Maybe we should suggest drinks and snacks for the meeting room, what do you think?

[By "we" he means "you", though. He is trying, vaguely, to seem like a responsible employee, though how long and how seriously he'll care to keep that up is a mystery.]

Maybe an unofficial gaming competition to see who can get the most points at something while still paying attention? If nothing else, it will cut down the number of people saying useless things.

Depends on who's running it. Dimitri might allow it.

[Dimitri is probably the nicest of all the Enmas he's met so far. Dazai is alright too but he doesn't seem like a leader-type so he's disqualified from being human making decisions on snacks at meetings.

But as for the rest of that-]

Don't wanna play games at meetings.

[Dazai just so happens to be disqualified from everything except making promotions! He's just that good. It's a burden, really.]

That's one more vote on our side, then.

[Dimitri - Mr. Straight-Laced? Well then, it's good to know that he's so forgiving in spite of seeming so serious. Not that he seemed an especially difficult target from the start, but it's nice to have Lalli's opinion confirming his own.]

Meetings are boring and games are supposed to be fun.

['Supposed to be', because Lalli has found that his idea of 'fun' and other people's ideas of 'fun' can be very different at times.]

Why would you ruin a game by mixing it with a meeting?

Would you really rather sit through a boring and overly long meeting without playing a game?
