[Ydris will make no secret of giving Dante the up and down look over. He's no disappointment, that's for certain. They step in closer and quirk their head some to look at his face, a bit of an impish smile on their own.

How long Dante takes to realize they don't seem to blink is up to him,]

Lucky, am I? Why is that-? [they reach a hand up, the glove that was there disappearing at a will to be bare. If they're not bat or ducked away from, they tease their thumb across his chin curiously] You believe that smooth is better?

[It honestly doesn't take him too long to notice that little interesting tidbit about Ydris. However, he doesn't really care to question it. He does suspect that Ydris isn't all that seems. Not in a nefarious manner but just very mysterious like a youkai of some sort. If that's the case, then they share something in common.]

Let's just say I've been digging the rugged look as of late. [Dante answers with a slight purr once Ydris decides to examine the smoothness for herself. He likes the attention but then again, Dante is a bit of an attention hog.]

But I think I prefer to be a smooth operator.

[It's a shame that reference might go over her head. It's a good joke.]

[Most any reference is going to fly right over Ydris' head, but that purr sure doesn't. That's quite nice. As is the line of Dante's jaw. Their hand traces along it and only pulls away to reach for his arm, looping with his to stand in snug to his side.]

I shall look forward to seeing you again when you're more rugged looking. It will be interesting to compare. [Ydris will give him their honest assessment, then, as if that matters. They begin in a direction, hoping Dante will simply take their lead and follow along without much question to it. Especially since they don't really walk, just glide along slightly above the street level, body not swaying without the need to take actual steps]

The best pizza I could find has a stand, this way. The pizza is rolled into a different shape, but it smells just the same as what I tested.

[Dante is the type to just go with the flow, so he doesn't even question how they're floating right now. He figured that Ydris was some sort of demon and that's perfectly fine in his book. Unlike popular belief, Dante doesn't necessarily hate his own kind. He just doesn't like it when demons like him go on a murder spree, that's all.]

Rolled into different shapes? [He cocks his brow in surprise.] Do you mean like a calzone<? It's been a while since I had one of those.

[Redgrave City is known for its vast culinary scene, especially since there are plenty of immigrants living there. While there's only a handful of Italians around, there are more than enough pizza joints in town to make up for their lack in numbers. Even so, the native cuisine in Redgrave isn't exactly the best. No one is lining up to eat fish and chips anymore.]

I'm willing to bet you never had one of those before.

[Myddvai is also a place where food culture is huge, but a pizza is not something the Springtide Clan had. If there was a similar food in the Above World, Ydris hadn't run across it in their time traveling abroad.

So, Dante can be aghast to hear-]

I've never had a pizza of any sort, before arriving here.

[hence the need for testing! How are they supposed to know what is decent by pizza standards? They can guess from how it tastes to them, in the odd way they even can experience taste, but that's not very reliable]

Huh? [*record scratch*] What do you mean you never had pizza before?

[How is something like this even possible?! How can someone not understand the importance a oven-baked pizza with robust zesty tomato sauce, savory mozzarella cheese with succulent pepperonis on top? This is a tragedy! A downright tragedy but Dante plans on remedying that right now.]

Unless you've been living under a rock, I find that kind of hard to believe.

[Then again, this woman isn't exactly human. So maybe there's no such thing as pizza in her world.]

You know what? Just for that, I'm getting you the biggest damn pizza I can afford.

Funny story.[is it Ydris?]

The people who built me are banished. They live entire in the Below Lands of the world, that is to say, beneath the ground. So, yes. I have lived beneath many the rock.

[Wait- this deal has gotten mixed around!]

I was buying you the meal, Sir I'm-So-Expensive.

[Banished? Well, that certainly sets off his metaphorical alarm bells. Anyone who needed to be banished is totally bad news, right? That's what he thinks but he honestly doesn't want to jump to conclusions yet. After all, Ydris seems relatively harmless for a eldritch wax-monster but her backstory seems a bit sketchy.]

I hope whoever chased your creators down south aren't here with us now. [Or else things might get a little hectic with all the fuckery happening as of late.] That would be a real bummer and all.

[He can't help but smirk a little once she spits his words back him.]

Alright, alright! I'm not about to decline from being wined and dined but we're definitely eating a calzone tonight.

A bummer, indeed! The other Gods of Myddvai are pure trouble or raw killjoys. The only one I care for is, perhaps ironically, that of the Water Dragon. She is fun and easygoing... but not too chaotic. We dragons are all meant to balance one another, she is the most in harmony.

[Ydris doesn't much care for chaos, which is one half of the other gods of their world. They're on the Orderly side of that particular alignment chart... and also the Evil side.

So yeah, pretty well justified conclusions, Dante, Ydris is definitely sketchy.

They did also find the best of the pizza carts, so you take the good with the bad with this one. Ydris will point it out so they can get in line, the dragon still hanging off Dante's arm snuggly and obviously very warm.]
