[ once the dust (steam?) has settled, an sms goes out to fellow sutoku alliance contacts. some might recognise the username rider more than others and know the man it's attached to but in any case, everyone who shows up will know him soon enough anyway. ]
[someone has to keep the spirit of the daitengu alive, okay?? the message also comes attached with a calendar invite. ]
[ later, anyone arriving for the meeting will be directed to the club's VIP area and encouraged to place food and drink orders as desired. this has definitely set ryouma back, but under the present circumstances, there's no better time than this to spare no expense, right? ]
☆ ooc; this is a mingle in addition to a general sort of information sharing prompt so feel free to throw your own top levels up and thread amongst yourselves! i give everyone free rein to threadjack as you see fit — just check with other individual players if you have any questions!
☆ i left the exact time of the meeting sort of open, but assume it's sometime within the next half-day or so after the assassination to account for people needing to finish up investigations, potentially heal up a little after fighting, time for him to book the club, etc. feel free to have characters wander in late too!
☆ i also provided the option for characters to phone in (since it was mentioned to me on the ooc post), so if they can't make it in person they can still be in the loop!
☆ any non-Sutoku tag-a-longs are assumed to be showing up late so as not to be sitting in on private discussions earlier in the night.

So, do you think the Daitengu is a hero?
[As Ryouma says- it was only annoying because they were at the bottom of the ladder. Matoba, again, can't fault the clan for operating based on the longterm intent. Whatever sacrifices he made of his clan, he made because he had done the cost-efficiency to ensure that it was the correct move.]
[It was good business not to waste resources, and expecting that shrewdness of one's organization was a part of the contract they had all agreed to, as well.]
Yes, among other things. Different spells for different categories of ayakashi. Not that I'm planning anything untoward, of course. [Of course. He smiles "pleasantly".] A spirit who is formed through the ideas of a human's existence, and not through the life experiences of an actual human... does that mean you do not carry memories of life? What an empty existence that would be... But, perhaps, less painful.
[What did Ryouma do to deserve all this poking and prodding?? Nothing! But the moment he confirmed himself to be a spirit, Matoba's demeanor had certainly shifted, somewhat.]

[ he might be a little biased? the only reason he's apprehensive about saying so is that he really knows nothing at all about the daitengu other than the few ideas he's cobbled together in his mind. hopefully, he doesn't come to regret these words later. he's also dying to have even a few minutes to sit down with their mysterious leader, so ryouma really hopes things go his way... ]
Not exactly. It's a little of both. A Servant retains their memories and experiences of life. Humanity's ideas and stories are what grant us power and that's what's called a Noble Phantasm. For some, it's a powerful weapon or a technique that only they can accomplish. They can take any form, really, kinda depends on the Servant. One's True Name can reveal what their Noble Phantasm is and vice versa, which is why you generally try to keep that quiet as long as possible.
[ but that ship has sailed, which is why he's out here crests and all. ryouma is already steeling himself for the inevitable question he's sure will follow now that he's opened this door by answering the question. he doesn't like to lie though, especially when the only reason not to explain it is his own hang-ups. ]

[IF the Daitengu wasn't truly dead. If the clan survived out the week. Perhaps the next Daitengu would be hero material, too- who knows?]
[All of them were of the type to wish they could have those few minutes to toy with their all-powerful leader, to ascertain for themselves just what made them tick- but being who they all were, the Daitengu was surely the same ilk, and had known better than to be open enough to give them the opportunity. I see. This sort of power is not completely unfamiliar to me, although I have never encountered it manifesting in ... quite this way. I see. .... I take it that you're not speaking of mounted combat, when you say that. But what you are saying is that without your master, your power is somewhat mitigated... Is that right?
It is certainly interesting to know that shiki contracts remain intact even past the boundaries of Hell, but I think I would have expected that. Now, if the Master is the one who has "died"... [Were Natori's shiki still bound to him? Hmm.]

Actually, I am! Talking about mounted combat, I mean. Oryou-san and I are two halves of the same thing. I'm not sure where she is now, [ which even hurts to say out loud with how it feels. ] but if she were here, she could turn into a huge orochi.
