[ Thinking about him is a little bittersweet. It's been a long time since she's spoken to anyone about things like this. Normally she wouldn't be caught dwelling on the sentimental. She wouldn't normally consider an outing with someone she just met at a bar either but here she is and she finds herself enjoying it. ]

What do you do here?

[ He huffs a small laugh. Ok, he can get that too. ]

I'm uh... family man. With th'Shuten Clan.

[ He's not sure if that euphemism will make sense to her, but it's a step removed from outright calling himself a gangster. ]

I ain't real 'good' either.

[ And more kind than he should be if he doesn't want to lose everything one day. ]

[ She doesn't go out of her way looking for it. Trouble finds her all on its own just fine. She really would hate to have to turn on him but it wouldn't be the first time it's happened. She'll do her job as long as she's here. If nothing else it gives her a sense of purpose. ]

[ Ideally in a different context than that. Some of the men she used to work with were much... wider than him but by now she knows better than to underestimate people. She's had plenty of experience with that on both ends. Noticing some petals on his shoulder she reaches out to gently pick them off. ]

[ The White Snake has a pretty good record. He was quite dangerous in his own world, legendarily, but now he has a yokai's speed and strength. He smiles faintly as she reaches to fuss at him. ]

Oh I'll fight you. After losing to Gojyo in the sumo tournament I realized I need a little bit more practice.

[ This is perfect. She appreciates being taken seriously and it's also something she enjoys. He must be pretty good if he does this a lot. Maybe she can learn something. It would be a good excuse to spend more time with him. ]

[ Hahah. Gojyo. Christ. Majima and Sha Gojyo have an adversarial friendship. They are just enough alike to be drawn to each other and just different enough to fight with each other about most things, even in Hakagemachi. ]

I need your help to get stronger so I can beat him next time. Even with my new ability I'm not sure it will be enough.

[ Was she supposed to mention that? She's conflicted, looking off to the side. If it's just him then there's no harm in sharing. He's helping her out so he should be aware of her skill level. That includes new things she's learned. ]

[ A little sharpness creeps into his smile. Oh yeah, he definitely wants to see that. ]

All right. Let's do it. I ain't real good with magic abilities an' all that, but I can fight.

I had some hand to hand combat training but since I was a pilot it wasn't really something I needed to focus on.

[ Now she's here with nothing to pilot. But hey at least they let her keep her gun. ]

[ Isn't that what people? He doesn't know, that's why he's asking, he supposes. ]

It depends on the unit. Some of them are designed to be as simple as possible. The one I ended up with was quite challenging. I never went to school. I learned it more like a trade. Though my guardian did teach me more general knowledge type things too.

[ If he thinks she's smart she'll take it as a compliment. She had to be at least somewhat to get this far. Her lack of formal education never stopped her from a successful career. She's just lacking in certain experiences common to most people around her. What she's found here is plenty of opportunity to try things she's missed out on. ]

[ It's hard to feel like any of what she's done has been enough no matter how much she's been through and accomplished. Some acknowledgement of that is what she's always been looking for. She wants to believe that even though he knows so little of her that maybe he does recognize it. She looks up searching for some sign of sincerity. ]

[ He blushes, wasn't expecting that answer at all. He is just pretty good at seeing people's skills, he's needed that skill to survive. ]

I mean, if that's what ya want? Wasn't tryin' nothin' though.

[ If there's anything she's lacking the skills for it's dating. She really has no concept if she's picking up on cues or crossing the line. It's worth it to her to take a chance. If nothing else it's a learning experience. She doesn't mind a little guidance if she's completely off. ]

[ That is not helping his blush at all. God, it's not like he's never kissed a woman. It's just usually a little more impulsive. He's thinking about it way too hard now and that's what's making his face turn red. He clears his throat. ]

[ Honestly, it is kind of a nice completion to the flower viewing experience. That's what plenty of other couples are up to all around them. He squeezes her hand gently. While the approach was awkward, he does want her to have this as a good memory. A taste of what life is like, since she seems to have missed out on some things. When he leans in towards her it is with a gentle earnest. His kiss is a little cool, a layer of smooth scale is there across his skin. ]

[ The extra features are always interesting to her. She's already been with a few that had something different about them like that. Somehow it makes his blushing even cuter. Her hand rests on his chest as her lips press to his. It remains there even after she's pulled back away as if she's not quite ready to be done yet. ]

[ It's not the first time he's been roped into playing someone's boyfriend on a whim, although this time is a lot nicer than when he'd just been there to convince the chick's dad that she didn't need an arranged marriage. ]

[ This opens up a whole new realm for her to consider. She has a lot to think about. It seemed so much simpler when all she was doing was hooking up with people. She still wants that but this is fun too. ]
