[ Upon his arrival at the meeting room, Stronghart takes a look at the old pocket watch that he's still relying on for his obsessive timekeeping — smartphones be damned. ]
I see I'm... eight minutes and eleven seconds late. My apologies.
[ He doesn't sound terribly apologetic, and simply slips the watch back into his coat pocket. ]
I thank all of you for making time for this meeting on such short notice. With such a large scale event now on the immediate horizon, I thought it prudent for those of us tasked with maintaining order to make an attempt to coordinate our efforts in advance — pooling information, assigning roles, and planning for whatever particular brands of trouble we expect might arise.
Whilst some of us shared introductions during our initial meeting here, I think we would benefit from doing so again now in a more organised forum, now that we've all had a chance to settle into things a bit.
To start us off — my name is Mael Stronghart, and I am the Lord Chief Justice of the Empire of Great Britain as of the year 1900. As such, my background is in law, as a judge and a former prosecutor, though I also work closely with our police force and am familiar with their procedures and investigative methods... at least as they exist in my own time and place.
