[Today had already been extremely stressful, with the bombing. He was doing his best to keep track of it all, but between helping out in the wake of the first, large one going off, to some of the info he'd learned through his faction, this entire city was in turmoil and Mayoi was so rattled that he just stopped being able to process fear.]

[It's fairly late when he starts to head back, and he thinks, maybe he will go check on Nazuna at the flower shop before he heads home.]

[He is not expecting to find the shop nothing but smouldering ruins, and Mayoi learned in that moment, fear was still very possible in his current state. The only thing that stops him from blacking out is that he needs to locate Nazuna now. So with shaking hands, he grabs for his phone.]

Nito-san, Nito-san, Nito-saaaaan, please pick up, please pick up, pleaaaaase-

[The immediate aftermath had been absolute chaos-- his ears were still ringing in an uncomfortable way he couldn't shake and there were parts of his body screaming from the heat of the flames. But he'd moved as fast as he could to get out of there. And finally he just collapsed on the ground a safe distance away from the fire. It's because of the ringing in his ears that at first... he doesn't recognize the sound of his phone ringing. But it doesn't stop and after a moment he realizes it's not his ears.

In a panic, he scrambles for his phone, fumbling with the buttons until he manages to pick it up just before the call would have been forwarded to his voicemail.]

A-Ayase-san?!

[His voice is-- well, it's always had a bit of a rough texture to it, but it's ten times worse now. It still feels like the smoke is burning at his throat. And with his hearing questionable at best he's talking louder than he has to, even though he doesn't realize it. He can't help but fear something else has happened while he was away.]

Where are you-- are you alright?!

[Oh he answered, thank goodness. Mayoi is just going to. Sit down on the ground for a minute, the relief just taking everything he had left out of him.]

N-Nito-san! Nito-saaaan, the flower shop is on fiiiiire!

[This isn't answering any of his questions, but he at least just sounds extremely freaked out and not injured.]

I-I'm fine! I'm- where are you? What's happened!? Was it a bomb?!

I know, I know... I'm sorry I didn't say something before I left. I didn't think things would turn out like this. It was... it wasn't a bomb. I don't know exactly what's going on yet but some guys raided the shop.

[He pauses for a moment, thinking. Alright, what hasn't he answered yet-- oh. Right.]

...if you can see the fire, then you're probably not too far away. I'll come find you so just stay there, alright?

[What? Didn’t say something before? Not a bomb? Did something totally unrelated happen here? Or was there something far more sinister—]

[He can’t think about this right now, it’s too much. He feels a little lightheaded? Everything is so much.]

O-Okay. I will… I-I will be here.

[He couldn’t stand up right now if he wanted to anyway. So, Nazuna will find him sitting on the curb. He looks dirty and scuffed up, and his coat looks like it’s missing half of the fabric off the bottom, like something ripped it apart. He has also …had kind of a rough day.]
