[What has Lalli been up to lately? Well, a few things, but the most obvious one for this prompt is gaining his magic back. And since he finally has some of his magic back, he's absolutely going to use it. Excessively.

If your character cannot sense the presence of magic or souls, then all they will notice is Lalli following them at a distance? Why is he following? Good question! But every so often his eyes flicker to a soft, light blue glow. Hm.

If your character can sense the presence of magic or souls, then they will feel someone bapping them lightly on the head with magic. It's not aggressive or anything, it's more like someone going 'you good over there? okay good, you feel like you're alright'. Brief, but possibly annoying. The magic is coming from Lalli himself too, so people who can sense souls will sense that he's reaching out with a tiny bit of his soul to do this.

As for what Lalli feels in return, this is what he is able to get: if your character has magic, he'll be able to tell. If your character has multiple souls (like the Slumscape CRAUS, or anyone in a 'two souls one body' situation) he'll be able to tell. If your character is dead or undead, he will be able to tell. This can be blocked by magic though, so if your character doesn't want to be prodded they can use concealing magic to disappear or barrier magic to push him away.]

2 (for Enmas)

[Lalli has rank now! He has a single star to his name after months of doing adequate work. Whee!

But no, he's out here trying to actually be a good faction member, and he's at the office brainstorming ways to do this 'PSA'.]

I know what we need, someone told me about this over the phone a couple weeks ago.

We need memes.

[Some of the weapons that have been confiscated are pretty straightforward. Guns, knives, etc. But there's also shit like this that Lalli just grabbed off the streets and he doesn't even know what it is. He looks visibly confused by it.]

Why does something like this exist?

4 (for CR)

[Closer to the end of September, Lalli will grow a bit distant. There's a lot going on in the city right now so it might be easy to miss, but for people who know him it might be obvious that he's withdrawing from conversations and mostly sticking to himself. It looks like he has some stuff on his mind.

He'll be back to normal in a couple weeks, but for now he's in a Mood. Try to talk to him? Or leave him be?]

[He hasn't gotten back his own magic sensing back, so he can feel something tapping at him, but he can't pinpoint why it's happening.

Since he's also trying to lay low(ish), he also can't say anything about it. But he definitely looks a little irritated by the phantom something, prodding at him.]

[Unfortunately, Lalli has decided that Nero is an Acceptable Person, and this means becoming familiar with how his soul feels. So that Lalli can recognize him immediately if he needs to go sensing people.

So instead of one 'bap' and then done, Nero is getting a constant stream of 'bap. bap. bap. bapbapbap.' as Lalli familiarizes himself with how Nero feels.

He's not hiding by the way, he is just standing like 20 feet away and doing this. Because what is respecting personal space?]

[This is like a cat not stopping prodding a person they like, isn't it.

There's only so much of this he can stand without saying something.]

[He's a bit surprised because he didn't expect Nero to say something so suddenly, but he can feel traces of magic too.]

I'm using magic. You have magic too, I can feel it.

He gives a little sigh and looks over at Lalli, relieved by the break of bapping.]

Why are you proddin'? [Exorcist? Mage? Wizard? What should he be worried about? Is he about to be called a monster again.

He's so tired.]

[Hu Tao might have only met him a few times and but even then, she knew something seemed off. That was why when she saw him nearby, she debated if she should approach him or not. The last thing she wanted was to bother him when he wanted to be left alone.

Still...]

You know, if you find yourself standing that corner, your back might be glued to the wall if you're not careful.

[Zelgadis is pretty good at noticing when he's being followed. It's not entirely uncommon for him, after all, and this follower is less subtle than most. He goes about his business as normal as he tries to get a feel for whether this mystery-stalker is alone or in a group, or if he may be hostile.

What Lalli will see is that this suspicious-looking man in white, who doesn't appear to be human if the stony texture around his one visible eye is any indication... does appear to have the soul of a living human being. Magic-wise, there's a lot going on. Not only does he possess magic, but there's also magic intertwined in his physical makeup.

... Anyway, he ends up walking into an empty lot, where he simply turns to face Lalli.]

Is there a reason you've been following me?

[I'm laughing at how the mood is immediately going to shift to comedy, because. Yeah. He's going to take that literally, and his somber expression is interrupted as he looks to the wall in confusion.]

...I don't see any glue there.

I couldn't do it before, but now I can do it again.

[He pauses there. Curious eyes are watching Nero.]

Are you a mage too?

['Magic intertwined in his physical makeup' is something that normally would put Lalli on edge, but that is definitely a living soul there so there's less worries of "is this actually a Troll" and such. Nooooo zombie apocalypse in Jigoku-cho!

But because of that magic presence, he does follow after Zelgadis, prodding at him as he goes. Prod, prod prod- oh now he's turning to face Lalli, that makes Lalli stop suddenly.]

...you're new. I haven't seen you before.

['Or felt you' but that's true of everyone, he just recently got his magic back. So he leaves off that part.]

Something like that.

[At this point he doesn't know what the nuances of each "name" are. Mage isn't far off from "wizard".]

You feel like a mage. Not a Finnish mage like me, but another kind of mage. Your soul isn't right for Finnish magic.

[Is he going to explain? He might, but it won't ever be a full explanation. Lalli is terrible at explaining things.]

What's Finnish? [Fin? Fish? Seafood?]

[Whoever this is, at least they came alone and don't seem to be overly hostile. For a moment, Zelgadis was tempted to reach for his sword, but he stays his hand. In the end, he can't really blame someone for being curious, or even suspicious, of someone who looks like him.]

[Right, different worlds, Finland might not exist where Nero is from.]

There's Finnish mages and Icelandic mages in my world. Icelandic mages are from Iceland or Norway.

[The blunt part of Lalli's mind sees what tiny bit of Zelgadis he can while the man is wrapped up and goes "that's probably a good choice, most people would mistake you for an oni." Thankfully this Lalli has been scolded many times for speaking bluntly, so he doesn't say that.]

Zelgadis, okay. I'm Lalli Hotakainen.

[A pause.]

Are you worried about being mistaken for an Oni?

[...okay, so it's a slightly more polite version of what was in his mind. But only slightly.]

[And here, Hu Tao just stared. And stared. ...And stared some more before raising an eyebrow at him.]

No, I meant if you keep staying there, you might as well become one with the wall. Unless you want to be.

[Also, what is that...weird sensation. He looks behind him, expecting to see someone, but there isn't anyone there. Lalli should get the sense, in return, that whatever makes him up has multiple beings involved - but the others are dimmed, inactive. It almost feels like the others, three of them, are hovering around him, instead of inside of him.]

... Something like that. I've been mistaken for all kinds of things.

[Well, there's no point hiding it. If he's already curious, then the simplest thing to do is to show himself. He pulls down his scarf, revealing the blue-black stone that makes up his face.]

If you were wondering... This body is that of a chimera: a fusion of human, rock golem, and blow demon.

[Another joke he doesn't quite get. Same as it ever was.]

[He's not at all asking because he's feeling out of sorts right now, nope.]

[Huh. If it were three total Lalli actually wouldn't think that's too weird. But three in addition to Moriarty himself is one too many to be normal. This is clearly Something Else.

But. Memes. Talking about memes while also pondering over magic.]

I am not. People talk about memes all the time. So if we use one, they'll remember it.

[He has no idea what any of that is. But since he's got a youkai living inside of him, he can at least understand the idea of 'fusion'.]

[He's folding his arms, frowning deeply.]

Do you want to make a laughingstock out of the Enma?

They're... a sort of lesser demon. Blue, beast-like, and with a high capacity for magic.

Maybe that's why we look kind of alike.

I'm not going to be in the memes. The memes will be about rule-breakers, and we SHOULD laugh at them. If we make them look like fools, then others won't copy them.
