"Back home, I was President of a Literature Club. I really endeavored for the club to be a place where my members could relax. Where they could free of their usual worries if only for just a time. We were only a few in the club and we didn't have much in common besides literature... But we were happy." Of course, not mentioned here is what happened to the club after she'd had her epiphany.
