Hm. [ For some reason, he thinks back to Matoba's jabs, only a few scant weeks ago, about finding his ancestors in the afterlife. For all of Minakami's memories, if his soul has ever wandered here, he truly has no idea. Whoever he is the next time around, they might be the first to remember laying eyes on hell. It's a strange thought. ]

[ For someone who wears his heart on his sleeve half the time, when he puts his mind to it, Minakami really does have a respectable poker face. So he just taps his chin in apparent contemplative silence at the withering glance, not even stopping Nana from clambering into Matoba's lap after the snacks. ]

...it's strange, but it almost seemed to be the opposite? Freed, the Enma would have tried to strike down his jailer directly, and it was the Daitengu who stopped him from doing something rash... [ It's not as if he hadn't been worried that the "rescue mission" might have ended up having a double meaning. Surely the haniwa containment sublevels, where anything could have happened, would have been a better fit for the Daitengu's myriad talents, and the possibility that the mastermind wouldn't give up its captive without a fight would befit Toraguma's brute force. ] Maybe if we hadn't found the Enma in such dire straits, it might have been different. I'm more surprised the Enma heeded their warning...

[ ...poker face or not, he can't stop himself from tensing up, breaking his eyes from the screen at the bird-creature that briefly wore a familiar face, before he and the others struck it down. Even if he was prepared to revisit this, it doesn't mean he has to like it. ]
