It’s the easiest direction to dodge. Any other direction, he isn’t confident he won’t accidentally put himself back in the sword’s path. But this direction, he tips himself backward too far and crashes into the table behind them, washcloths and cute decorations going down with him as he topples the table onto its side.
Hizen could press the plan to disarm Yizhi- it would be easy to close the gap and force the taser out of his hand- but he’d have to deal with all of that mess, not to mention Yizhi’s legs do kick wildly as they slide out from under him.
