Weren't there worries that such a thing could be abused? I mean, I guess there was something like that where I came from, but it was far more rare and precious. And people in power kept it under high lock and key with barely a single person knowin' about it unless they were selected because something that can do just anything like that was considered something that people could easily abuse.
