Part of it is because they suspect I'm some kind of spy, trying to edge on their territory. And part of it is as I said, I'm new, and they want to guard the positions they have. It's not something I'm unfamiliar with, though since I'm not inclined to be as...open, as they are, there's no risk I'll take their place.
